is there anyway we can make our own way to purchase UTC with the USD?Huh? first off I find it crazy that coinbase and localbitcoins are the 2 best ways to get introduced into cryptocurrency to begin with for people in USA.  I know somebody said our own exchange, and that seems like a lot of work.  I'm talking something simpler.  Just quick easy way to purchase UTC with USD that we can market that to USA consumers.   Jeez even a buy button in the wallet idk.  any thoughts?

usd/eur-utc

Yes but you need to transfer BTC to that site first... I cant just deposit USD on that site freely.  I would have to purchase on coinbase, transfer to crypto-trade, sell btc, than buy utc with usd.  That is ridiculous.  Why cant there be a way with my bank account to purchase this extremely fast UTC coin directly??  a coinbase for utc if you will maybe .... My fiance and I made the worst possible video for ultracoin to help promote it. I am about to upload it to youtube. I'll post a link when it's finished.

EDIT: as in worst, i mean it looks like a 5 year old did it.

Here it is. Our masterpiece. Prepare to be amazed and awed by all the special effects it has to offer. Please donate handsomely if you enjoyed it, or think it is awesome.

http://youtu.be/7TGpKdsOWe4

Sure it could have been done better but we have no artistic talent or know how to do anything better. At least we tried to promote!!

ow man, i laughed so hard, that video is fantastic!

I think the use of humor will be very effective.

i sent 100 utc

The main problem is US banks, and regulations for any kind of currency exchange.  There's a reason there are not 100's of places where you can easily buy crypto, once you get into the financial sector the rules and regulations are complex and difficult to deal with. Probably similar with other nations as well, but it is a lot of bureaucracy and red tape to go through.

I just tweeted a couple of bitcoin-aware celebrities about getting some free Ultracoin with video.
I could do more but I just wanted to start slow. Even if 1 person shows interest, it would be HUGE.

Ashton Kutcher - https://twitter.com/jakimanboy/status/442600590854455296
Drew Carey - https://twitter.com/jakimanboy/status/442599544316903425

If they do reply saying they want it, I might send them about a 100. (as a teaser)
If anyone wants to donate on my actions, it would be greatly appreciated.  Grin

Take witness to the prowess and undeniable speed of UTC's transaction times. You are witnessing a transaction being sent from the Netherlands to New York to Australia and back to the Netherlands in an astounding 2:31, confirmed. This is revolutionary and perhaps the greatest asset of any currency, digital or not. Do not underestimate the value being demonstrated here. Welcome to the future.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y898MEfaKtM&feature=youtu.be

This is an excellent demo that will convince people who know what this is about.
I wouldn't like to kill your enthusiasm but to see what's happening you need to zoom the video to 1000+ pix, which obviously most users will not do.
Moreover the purpose of the video is not explained at the very beginning, which will make lots of people wonder what this is about (don't forget we have a population of people who never were exposed to cryptos and for which transfers and speed of transactions means nothing).

But overall an excellent draft of what to expect in a more mature version.

therefore:

1- can you redo the video in a format that will make it visible on a smart phone? -Possibly changing the screen layout using dynamic zooms.
an idea: you show a world map/globe a la google earth from which when zooming on a city you get the wallet and proceed with the transaction, then go to the other city, etc. until the end. Overlay the stopwatch at a fixed position on the screen and this will do it.
Maybe you could compare with bitcoin and/litecoin in the process to really show the difference (so this part should not be realtime, just show stopwatches at begining-end of tx and this would be enough, right?)

2- can you put up a short explanation at the beginning and a conclusion in the end?

3- using empty wallets might be better, for some people might feel like the 100k+ ones are going to intimidate them. Seeing a whale is not always very pleasing, no matter what his intentions are.

Hi, I am a huge UTC fan watching this thread almost from start. I would like to give other fans an opportunity to spend their UTC in real world. I would like to print and send UTC - related t-shirts and send them around the world.

For printing I use only finest 180g shirts and quality screen-print eco inks that lasts as long as the shirt lasts.
I think, that price for t-shirt including postage within Europe can be 250 UTC, and within rest of the world 275 UTC

It may help to spread the word and will allow you to spend your UTC in real world Smiley

So, what do you think?

Today:

 - UTC market cap passed 1300BTC. We're getting closer to the strategic/psychologic 2000BTC lower bar from which we could rise more steadily and get more exposure on coinmarketcap.

 - we havn't crashed as I though we could have been after having hit cryptsy, meaning UTC has proven quite stable so far. We havn't bubbled as well which is excellent because pumps&dumps are not something that strengthen a coin. Let's wait until monday before confirming this point because introduction during a weekend sort of dip is logically not very active.

 - we need consolidation at rising levels which looks like what we are observing right now with this stabilization around 0.0002 that seems to upset many newcomers here but indeed is an excellent fundation. From this point we can potentially move up and consolidate at higher levels little by little, thus increasing the value and market cap of the coin without too much noise or bubbles. Long-term wise not going exponential and keeping a slow growth rate this is the best we can achieve and hope for.

Now let's target some more organic growth. Organic growth as in money coming from people seeking an investment rather than a snake oil/get rich quick scheme. Marketing is paramount here, and little by little things are getting better, polished, possibly apealing for an external audience. In that sense the videos that have been recently released, although not technically impressive, are good steps forward. We need more and better quality now. Given the enthusiasm and support of the community I have little doubts we'll improve consequently.

In short: thank you everyone and let's keep on mining/holding/trading without compromising the long term prospects of UTC.

Take care.
