Hello, Im on 7850 and Im on 10% agains my scrypt rate. On scrypt i have like 360k/s On scrypt-jane I can get 30-40kH/s without HW arrors. Ive tested several pools and three version of cgminer. Im on linux. Here is sample with two intensity settings: "scrypt-jane" : true, "sj-nfmin" : "4", "sj-nfmax" : "30", "sj-time" : "1388361600",
"intensity" : "11,18",
"gpu-engine" : "1050", "gpu-platform" : "0", "gpu-memclock" : "1500", "vectors" : "1", "worksize" : "256", "lookup-gap" : "2", "thread-concurrency" : "8192" I can be on I 11 without HW, I12 will het HW. I18 is my common scrypt range, but impossible without HW. GPU 0: | 31.73K/31.78Kh/s | A:320 R:32 HW: 0 WU:36.3/m I:11 GPU 1: | 63.81K/63.74Kh/s | A:192 R: 0 HW:58 WU:13.8/m I:18
Ive tested also several memcore/engine settings (lower, higher). TC8192/LG2 seems fine or I can go to TC14144/LG8. No idea what to try more. Ive been googling any trying like 50 different etting for last 4 days. Any tips? People are reporting like 70-80% of scrypt range. I cant go above 10%. Also tips for 7870 (R270x) will be great, Im on 90KH/s with those. I'm not sure about the 7850, I assume you should be able to get around 60 out of it but I don't know the settings for it. Your 7870 is pretty much running at expected rates. Try raising your thread concurrency without changing your lookup gap on the 7850. Also, how much RAM does this system have and how many GPU are in it? Ive try per 2048 from/t 5952 (my init settings generater by cgminer/no setting .bin file) 8000 10048 12096 14144 (last ussuable) 16192 (wont run cgminer) Im on 2GB RAM on system. This ram is NOT user due minning. GPU RAM is something different. Well you can either except you're wrong about system RAM and stop beating your head against a wall, or you can not listen to someone who's been involved in tuning a whole lot of these cards. Your limitation is your system RAM. The current N-factor doesn't like much less than 4 GB system RAM or it starts complaining. You won't see it as being used when you look at your resource monitor, but it is.

Somebody have omptimal cmos settings with r9 290 sapphire cards.
When i get smos running jane-scrypt i only get 50.00hash per card. If i tweek it's 40.00 or even 30.00. The fact it's such i round number thinks it's not only a gpu setting but also like a maximum or something.
Hope somebody can help me.
Seems unlikely you need to change any of your bios settings. I feel like we've tried to help you before. what happen with the last settings we gave you? What are you using right now? I'm now using 1 windows system with all your help and that's running jane-scrypt at the moment. That system works perfect. No hardware errors and running solid about 103 hash per gpu I also have a smos / bamt system that now makes doggie. With help here I have installed a smos jane-scrypt on usb now, and that also works. Only don't know the best settings for that one and i'm only getting mak 50.00 hash. I don't think it's a bios issue because with normal scrypt bamt it runs perfectly, with 880hash per gpu

my 290 would not work with regular scrypt on 4gb ram. it had to have 8gb. i was getting 'out of resources' messages or somethin along those lines in cgminer.
more system ram = higher TC

Can someone explain to me why system RAM is so important when mining with a GPU?? I would guess it would be even more important with CPU mining.

Can someone explain to me why system RAM is so important when mining with a GPU?? I would guess it would be even more important with CPU mining.
I don't know about CPU, but I'm guessing the GPU issue has something to do with the GPU RAM to System RAM ratio. I think that's why most 4x 280x systems work fine with 8 GB of RAM and my (and some others) 4x 290x systems with 8 GB of RAM won't work without a lookup-gap of 3 with only 8 GB of RAM. Basically, the N-factor changes the amount of memory required for each piece of work your GPU is doing. If your GPU is using all it's RAM in the process (290x = 4GB, 280x = 3 GB) and attempts to reserve a given amount of your system RAM for the process during some part of the operation, then a given intensity level / lookup gap size ends up trying to reserve more registers in your system RAM than is available at any given time. Hence, you either fail to start or you get HW errors as the RAM transfer overwrites bits and returns garbage instead of valid work. This is all speculation of course, but it makes sense.

There is no spoon. There was no cup (go read investopedia again about what exactly is a cup with handle, this was no cup by any measure).
Disclaimer: this is NOT an investment advice. Therefore if things happen differently do not come back and tell I was wrong. I am only presenting what is a possible outlook based on the best of my current market knowledge as well as peer opinions. This is by no means a prediction that intends to be 100% accurate. The intent is to get some feedback.
There are chances that BTC will be going to 550 soon, then bounce to around 600, then dip again to around 480. All within the next 2 weeks.
There is the possibility that the 2 next weeks be bearish for UTC as well as every other alt, so don't be afraid to hold, baghold and switch off your computer if you're afraid you could panic sell.
Everything will come to an end, then up again and for the better.
One word: HOLD. No one needs to sell at a loss, no one.
This is SO important. The BTC price is a bellweather for the alt coin market. [Same disclaimer as above] I happen to like your comments and positive energy. Keep up doing what you are doing so well because we'll probably be going downer and downer until there are tears and blood in the streets. Capitulation has not happened yet, do not forget this. So the best course of events is not to be at 100% in coins. Keep at least 50% fiat for when everybody will talk about suicide, divorce, repossessions etc. etc. This could take as long as 2 more months. Until then: do not touch any of your cash and do not sell any of your coins. HOLD! Honestly.... I was a bit disappointed that BigVern screwed us, instead of two coins he added four new coins. So we did not had to invest so much BTC for buying votes. But getting screwed is some times part of life. Also I am a bit disappointed by the start of our coin at Cryptsy and the price were it is now.... But, and there is always the but: I still believe in UTC. I am a so cold bag holder and have more than +100K of UTC in my bag and my precious miners are still mining UTC. Till this very moment I did dent sell any of my coins. Not one of them.... I refuse to sell under $1,50 or more. And if there will be any good moment that its time to sell I wont will dump the market at once because I also believe that UTC will reach $3 or $4, so I will spread selling my coins about different selling moments... Quote: "...There is the possibility that the 2 next weeks be bearish for UTC as well as every other alt, so don't be afraid to hold, bag hold and switch off your computer if you're afraid you could panic sell..." I agree whit this quote. The next two weeks or even the next four or eight weeks I keep my +100K wallet firmly closed if needed ! SO TO EVERYBODY !
WAIT JUST A LITTLE MORE..... DONT SELL !
JUST HOLD !
STAY FOR THE LONG HAUL AND YOU WILL GET YOUR PROFIT BIG IN RETURN !!!

CAN SOMEONE MAKE A MONITORING SITE FOR ULTRA COIN WITH SOME CANDLE STICKS? PEOPLE LIKE CANDLE STICKS. If we had a dogemonitor or bitcoinwisdom kind of site, it would attract a lot of trading. http://dogemonitor.com/If someone could rip off bitcoin wisdom in the early days of dogecoin, we can doit to. Lets be honest, the charts on crypsty suck, the charts on crypto-prices.com/utc also suck. A decent chart will attract atleast 10% more trades. Is the code templates for that site public license?

(like have few HW but more A) You haven't been mining scrypt-jane for the past 4 months which uses a mixed hashing method and a completely different memory footprint. You're investigation per last 4 months is likely irrelevant as it only is true on scrypt only coins. Do yourself a favor and look what a mutating N-factor means, look up the hashing functions currently being used to solve PoW for this coin, and then if your investigation goes deeper than a cursory "I looked at my system monitor and it's not using RAM" argument, I may listen to you. I've got more mining experience then you with likely a much larger coin base. Since you seem intent on telling us what isn't going to work instead of listening to what is, which comes from empirical evidence specific to this coin, I don't know why you keep asking for suggestions.

Until then I will baghold no matter what except if a very very good good opportunity shows up (like a sudden $10-15 spike but this is so unlikely...). And of course I expect to buy back enormous quantities when capitulation occurs because 100k UTC might be extremely cheap... And I am resolute to baghold for as long as 1 or 2 years if needs be because those are mined and bought on the cheap coins. I do not have as many UTC as you but I plan to acquire much, much more if possible. The investment is not so considerable that my life would depend on it and could turn out to be a very good gamble if UTC realizes its potential. Then I'd stay in UTC anyway because there would be no point in leaving. So it's definitely a risk worth taking, and now is the time to do it.

Why does it take more system ram? I think I can explain:
a gpu is not the only thing in your rig processing data. your internet has to pull in data, and your ram is used to send it to your gpu. Think of TC as the limit to how small the piece of data can be that is processable by your gpu. Your system ram allows the maximum limit the piece of data can be to be sent to the gpu for processing. As the mining becomes more 'memory intensive', the algorithm gets bigger (or gets sent for double the number of laps around the track if you want to compare to car racing) so it takes more ram to send the bigger piece to your gpu. your cpu is used slightly to help direct, but shows up as negligable, but still uses some ram.

ultracoin is rising. and btc will be $800 within 2 weeks
Don't be in such a hurry son. We could still be in turbulences for the next 2-3 months, so HOLD and don't despair. When you put money on a savings account you typically do no longer care for a number of years. Try to get this mentality with UTC and you'll most likely be rewarded.

I am a so cold bag holder and have more than +100K of UTC in my bag. DONT SELL ! JUST HOLD ! On my side I plan not to sell anything before next summer or whenever next BTC ATH will happen. So it's definitely a risk worth taking, and now is the time to do it.

ultracoin is rising. and btc will be $800 within 2 weeks
Don't be in such a hurry son. We could still be in turbulences for the next 2-3 months, so HOLD and don't despair. When you put money on a savings account you typically do no longer care for a number of years. Try to get this mentality with UTC and you'll most likely be rewarded. Seriously how do you know stuff about btc price in the next weeks let alone months? I thought you were guessing based on inside info, but now you apparently can predict the next drop, then reprise, then re-drop etc etc. Wtf?

I don't pretend I am right, so read the disclaimer in my previous posts. My decisions are based on my experience as well as opinions of trusted people around. We happen to be right on average, but mind you: we can always be wrong, so do not think whatever I say is a winning gamble. Observe the situation, try to feel the market, and then take positions, but all in good faith and using your best judgement. Do never forget that getting rich quick is unlikely to happen. Holding, on the other hand, is probably the best strategy in crypto as can be seen over the past 2 years.

WAIT JUST A LITTLE MORE..... DONT SELL !

STAY FOR THE LONG HAUL AND YOU WILL GET YOUR PROFIT BIG IN RETURN !!!proof of your 100K, where is it?

Since you seem intent on telling us what isn't going to work instead of listening to what is, which comes from empirical evidence specific to this coin, I don't know why you keep asking for suggestions.
No offense. Im glad for your advices. Let me put this in another way. Yes? i can try to run cgminer with 8 or 16 RB RAM. But even if this work it will not help me. I have more computers on this setup and I cant change HW configuration for them (increase RAM or changing GPU is not a option here, sorry). The only things I can change is SW setup (cgminer, parameters, ...). About that coin, well .. coins like memorycoin will user system ram. About scrypt and scrypt jane coins Im not sure. Lets say that ram is having impacts here. Can I do or try something else on same HW setup?
