how ever its not as bad as minpal ... I just have a tantrum trying to use that on my galaxy note 2 , their is soem hidden box floating around behind what I am trying to click on and gets clicked instead of what i am trying to click on

Think I will be out of UTC, leetpools has around 50% orphans in block details. I know it is not your fault, but what am I supposed to do?

Lol @ Nitro

Est. Avg. Time per Round (Network)    32 seconds
Est. Avg. Time per Round (Pool)    30 seconds

I would mine l33tpools (they are in fact my failover) but i don't like the damn mobile interface style. I am always searching the buttons first before clicking them.
I like the neat, classic pool interface (like, for example, nitro's)
I consider myself a medium-sized miner, pushing almost 2 ultracoin MH.

I know this centralization is bad for our beloved coin, and i wouldn't mind nitro going as high as 10% fee to "spread the love", maybe 1% more per day until it reaches that (of course notifying everyone by email). Maybe there is just no other way. Registrations are closed now but ... isn't the damage already done ?

My .2 UTC.

PS : liked & shared FB page
Maybe Nitro should take 1 for the team and just take their pool down, and put a message on their home page saying "Pool is offline until miners are distributed evenly among the network".

Well, they should just limit the number of miners who will register to their pool.

Would be cool to get more miners to
http://thepool.pw/ultracoin/

feels like solo mining there.

Isn't it a little bit of greed that drives nitro? The must get a ton of UTC out the fees with all these miners. They don't mind it, otherwise they would have listened to the call to decrease and shut down registration.

They did a lot of good for UTC. I hope they will continue with it.

If I set g=2 then my whole system freezes regardless of i / tc. On my 280X it has a significant impact on performance (more so than lookup-gap).
That's probably because the TC value is too high and the thread is being put into dynamic GPU memory (Aka system ram, which if there isn't enough gets paged out to your hard drive - every try and calculate hashes using a hard drive for storage?? BAD!) - I had this exact some issue when I was trying to get my miner up and running and that was what I discovered.  The easiest way I figured out how to know where to set TC or buffer size was using GPU-z (people on Windows 8 should use HWInfo).  On the sensors tab, there are two graphs - Dedicated memory and dynamic memory.  Have that open when you launch your miner - if dynamic memory goes up at all, kill the mining software ASAP.  Then lower your TC until only dedicated memory increases when you launch the miner.  MY 4GB cards would do this with any value for TC over 24576 with a lookup gap of 2 (using -g 2) - buffer-size 1,536 MB.

OK - So I took on board everything you said and there is no way I can get my 290 working with lookup-gap of 2 and g=2..

Setting my TC to 20000 and lookupgap 2, g=2 results in nothing but hw errors. Increasing the TC gradually, I get to a point where it just kills the entire system - at no point is there a balance where I can mine without HW errors unless I set my I stupidly low (eg.. 12) which results in a piss poor hash rate (< 80KH/s).

Either I am missing something or it isn't possible on the 290 with only 4GB RAM.

Back to TC of 42600 (I increased it a little Wink) and lookup gap 3 for now.

What part of "your hurting the coin" are people not getting?

Its beginning to look like people WANT the coin to fail by not moving pools.

If the "community" is so strong, why is it not listening to the clarion call of

MOVE!
?

As guessed before, looks like we're going higher now. Not really a trip to the moon but a logical move up given resistance at 0.0002 has been built and tried and proven robust. Let's see how high we will go now.

Notice that crypto-trade make more than twice the UTC volume from mintpal and cryptsy combined. This is very surprising and might explain why does crypto trade care so much about UTC making it to the top (or vice-versa, whatever...).

Now isn't it weird the the biggest risk to UTC seems to be NITRO monopolizing the mining? -Not NITRO's fault in any way, just the market reacting to it.

I have been mining on another pool and felt like coming back to NITRO on the ground that between 12% max opportunity cost (ddos+fees) and 20% on other pools (_very_ approx. orphan share) it seems more tempting to come back to overcrowded NITRO...

Should NITRO want to improve the situation, maybe they should start ejecting people randomly  and reduce the number of miners aggressively. This is not really nice to miners but advertising they're going to cut off miners within a few days before might help people to understand.

An indirect consequence might be to make themselves very unpopular but I guess dire times need dire solutions.

Looking forward to reading what NITRO pool owners might answer to this.

As someone above me wrote, stopping registration would be nice for a start and higher fees would be nice as well. I think that there are miners at nitro which are reading this but they are greedy and they want to take as much coins, they are also stupid because they dont understand that they can destroy this coin -.- or maybe they think someone else will do it ill take more coins FUCK THEM ! Few of my friends started mining utc and they are mining on different pools so encourage your friends because this is great coin and it will rise in value for sure;p

I don't know why miners are sticking to nitro.. personally I mine on leet. It's a great pool and the owners post here often and also really care about the community..

I think more people should move over to leet.

EVERYONE READING THIS THREAD: If you are on Nitro please be considerate and move to other pools. This is our coin and let's do our part to keep it intact and secure.

Could the devs, bumface and ziggy, contact the admin of nitro pool?? Miners have to be booted out of Nitro by force, close the registration, and increase fees. This is really getting serious and annoying with all the orphaned shares flying everywhere.  Angry

I personally use leetpool. But I think it is high time to take a stronger measure than calling and begging people to move out of Nitro.

i was thinking - if i were to do a pitch invasion at the world cup final or superbowl final with a banner saying "Ultracoin 200X faster than Bitcoin" - that will drive the price up to $5-$10 as 2 billion people will see it. - I will probably get a few months in jail but would leave jail a millionaire!? thoughts . . .

LOL, make a fake video of that and put it on youtube. I guess that would be a nice promo (without jail).
