According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Thought I'd ad something to the Leetpools discussion.

These are my own thoughts and theorys, so correct me if I'm wrong.

The blocktime on UTC is fast, and both Leetpools and Nitro uses Prop payout (right?). So for you to get what they predict you need to have shares in every block they find. And blocks can be found pretty fast on these pools, so you'll miss out on quiet a few of them because the vardiff is actually set too high.

I also thought I got too few coins on these pools, so I changed to greekpool as my primary and Leetpools / nitro as backups. Smaller pool = more time to get shares in between blocks. I also got better results on Greekpool.

Any thoughts on this?

I think your correct, they will have to do test wallets altho mintpal are quick to add coins after the winner on the votes

And i think when the winner is announced as UTC thats when ppl will be panic buying like crazy

Yea, but cryptsy ain't Mintpal, usually their adds take a while... I remember seeing test wallets up a good 24 hours before the actual market opening..

Well, I can only assume that Cryptsy probably already tested the UTC wallets on their server.
The amount of tweet spam and being #1 for past 36 hours wouldn't have been ignored IMHO.

Today is a big day for Ultracoin and the Ultracoin community.

Today is a day that everybody needs to hear about UTC. So tweet, e-mail, write, shout to your friends about it.
Let the whole cryptoworld know about our great community, where everyone is supporting eachother.
From a business perspective, pool owners should be competitors. Instead, they've been helping eachother from day 1.
We've had a series of very unfortunate events, but thanks to very loyal community members, I feel like we're stronger than ever.

I got interested in this coin because of it's possibilities as a coin, I had no idea how community driven this could get.
I can't thank you guys enough for what I've seen in the past month.

As everyone knows, we're currently #1 on the Cryptsy coin vote contest.
We're not there yet though, so keep voting.
If we do get on Cryptsy, please remember not to sell ur coins cheap.
The profit might be very tempting, but this is a coin with a future. It would be wise to hold.

Remember to keep on voting and replying for UTC on various places:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=502363.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=502900.0
https://www.cryptsy.com/coinvotes/ (we're not on it yet!!)

SPREAD THE UTC LOVE!

I can only agree and concur with bumface's initial vision that was "a coin by the people for the people", despite his habits of deleting posts and the fact that this sounded like a big pile of bs in the beginning.
But for some reason I joined.
Nobody's perfect and were it not for your stubborness this might not have worked as well so far.
I know how stubborn dutch guys can be and sometimes hated them for this.
This was until I discovered I could as stubborn as them...

I won't cite names here because there's a lot of them and I could forget a few. All of you have been instrumental in building a community that made it through this inaugural crisis (even though I really would have liked to buy for even cheaper prices 2 days ago because I knew we would go up: wasn't that obvious? -Why don't people dump when they are told to?...).

Nothing is done yet because there's a couple of hours left and we know these TAK people might want to tackle us in the last line.

And nothing is done because people who expect prices to only go up from now are a bunch of ignorants who have never heard about fluctuations. So we're going to have to fly through some turbulences in the near future, obviously.

This to reassure our young blood who bought coins with his mother's money: the troubles are not over, and do not spend more than 20 minutes per day trading or trying to otherwise you're going to make a lot of bad moves. The best course of events is most likely to sit and wait a few {weeks, months, years}. Up to you to decide. But learn to read indicators and understand:

o what's the market and where does it go,

o what is the value of what you are holding right now and that it should not be mistaken for its current price.

In any case, get ready for eventualities. Buckle up and let's carry on doing what has been done so far.

Well said..I too wish I had purchased more at 00008...at the time things looked less than rosy...however when does it not. We will all be winners in the end.

This is right, Leet have problems and Nitro have  too many blokcs with 0,01% procesing (10 of last 30 blocks) where all 50 coins goes to block finder so their luck percentage on average is let say better than other pools but in reality for majority of miners luck is not even close to predictions with even calculated 108% - 110% luck cause shares miners submiting are mostly in blocks 20% - 50% - 250% or even 400% so again, every miner have to check pool stats and see what pool is best for him.

Correct me if I'm wrong..

At 2 pm GMT time Cryptsty will only announce the winners, the actual addition to the Exchange is gonna take some time though.

Probably by tomorrow morning?

I think your correct, they will have to do test wallets altho mintpal are quick to add coins after the winner on the votes

And i think when the winner is announced as UTC thats when ppl will be panic buying like crazy

Yes I noticed price has been stagnant in the last few hours, traders are probably waiting for the official announcement to buy up the bulk of utc orders.

Guy's and Girls we are still on nr 1 !

But the difference between UTC an Takei is not more then 1,0 or 1,5 BTC of buying votes.
That's not to much difference and we must be aware they will start a counteraction soon or in the last minutes this morning.

SO TO EVERYBODY, KEEP YOUR EYE OPEN THIS LAST VIEW HOURS AND PLEASE HELP SECURE OUR NR 1 PLACE AT THE VOTING LIST BY ;

1: ---> put (big or small) donations on the Cryptsy address for buying UTC votes IF NEEDED IN THE LAST HOUR/MINUTES (if you can and want)

2: ---> give your vote at the Cryptsy voting list

3: ---> keep Twitter the news of voting and that UTC is nr 1 on Cryptsy list

I have made a post in some popular pc community forums as well to raise more awareness.
donated a bit to the vote earlier today as well.

overclockers.com
hardwarecanucks.com

to name a few.

maybe gain a few more looks and some more miners too.
