I usually mine on greekpool but I guess they're down as well, failed over to Idcray (always a good bet during a DDOS) while diff has gone down to 2 which means more than half of the network hashing power is down. I guess I can't complain, DDOS isn't fair but not setting up sufficient failover pools isn't clever.

I finally got it to work, I am using a new version of cgminer.

What kind of hashrate are you guys getting with 290s?  Or which ever card you use?

I'm only getting 160Mhs on 290s which normally get me 800 or so.

I confirm, this is probably whatever interesting ego on another pool who found out difficulty was too high for him recently and organized this little party of his. Pour little guy who did not mine when it was easy because he must have thought the coin was dead. Boo hoo. He never felt the pleasure and immense felicity of cracking open full blocks for himself. That was excellent.
Would be good if the remaining pool would shut down for a couple of minutes.
I'm pretty sure the ddos would stop straight away.

160 Kh is normal for a 290 on this coin with this n-factor. Everybody else has the same kind of hashing performance so it really doesn't matter if its doing 160 kh or 16,000 kh. You get the same amount of coins.

160-170KH/S (not MH/s) is fine, im getting 190 on r9 290x

Usual Rates depending on OC:
R9 290x = 190-210 kh/s
R9 290  = 160-190 kh/s
R9 280x = 130-150 kh/s

Appreciate the help man.

Is this scrypt harder on the GPUs than normal scrypt?  A rig that hasn't gone down in like 2 months just went down after running it for a few minutes.

It's not harder on them in terms of working them harder/killing them off sooner than mining anything else.  Scrypt jane is just a new animal for miners and setting up your cards for it takes some trial and error.

To whom it may concern:

There's a noticeable lack of action since yesterday evening (europe) from the TAK folks.
Do they have a trick up their sleeve?
If so, get prepared to maybe throw a last buck at cryptsy because they so love coins. As for love and hate, votes and money always meddle together. They probably have some sort of affair. Whatever.

Who's in line?

Holy shit, when I went to bed utc.pool.pm had 70 active miners. Today when I woke up we have good over 300, many of which seems to be packing some serious hash. I have been mining continously at utc.pool.pm and been in the top 10 with my rig for weeks, now I don't stand a chance haha  Shocked

http://ULTRA.leetpools.com

Just wanted to remind everyone about our pool Smiley We also have full DDOS protection Smiley

Come chill in IRC #Leetpools on quakenet
you steeel  like  50%

Utter rubbish. I have mined with Nitro, Pool.pm and Leetpools since UTC was launched and get the same result. Settled on Leetpools to avoid too many on Nitro and because the owner was always available on chat and on here helping out others.
