Question
I am sending Dash back and forth to myself to create new addresses (given that I am changing provider)
But i can' completely send the last 1000. When i am in the coin sending feature, I keep getting some change cause it uses all the 1000 to pay commission and not the spare change (say I have 3500 dash, i send 1000 3 times, i can't send the 500 - they are locked)
how to fully unlock the wallet?
Cheers and happy Easter

Before you can send DASH - you have to receive it (it means - to get a certain number of confirmations in blockchain). So - just wait a bit... Another option is - if some of you funds were really locked by you - you have to go to "input control" and unlock them.

I have changed providers multiple times and I just move my remote vps config, and change the ip address in my local config.

Just before that drop I saw a sudden btc rise. So I knew what's gonna happen and decided to sell a few coins. Was going to deposit to Polo but hey... 12 confirmations? Are they joking? But then we have exmo.com. My deposit took seconds and was able to take advantage of this drop. That would not be possible with Poloniex. It just shows a huge advantage of Exmo over Poloniex.

BTC lift-off !!
Shame every other crypto falls They don't really. It just feels like that if you only use the Dash/BTC pair as a reference. In actual fact, alts often perform better against fiat than bitcoin because the decline in value against BTC is less in relative terms than BTC's gain against fiat. So, for example if BTC/$USD gains 20% and the ALT/BTC loses 15% then you're at a net gain by holding the alt instead of BTC. Another thing - as the tide goes out, there's a stretch in the ALT/BTC ratio when BTC takes off. But when BTC finishes its climb, the tide comes back in, usually fully taking up the slack that was lost in the initial surge. To see that, compare the Dash/BTC ratio and BTC/$USD price during most of 2015 with the present. First 3 quarters of 2015, BTC traded in the 200-230 range. During the same period, the Dash/BTC ratio was between 0.01 and 0.006. Now BTC is at $420 and Dash at 0.016. Against the $USD thats superb performance. If you had held bitcoin, the gain was around 100%. If you had held Dash, the gain was more like 380%. Of course people try to optimise the gain even further by jumping ship when Bitcoin takes off and then back to the alts when it tops off. But that manoeuvre is fraught with some quite substantial risk. In particular getting the timing wrong will screw you if the spread is too small and liquidity is tight (if trading large amounts). In addition, there are more factors driving the coupling than just the Bitcoin/USD price and they could just as easily recouple for a different reason. just when your not expecting them to.

Bumping the Proof of Labour discussion proposal which is getting on a bit in age. I did some back of the envelope calculations on the potentially huge impact from its implications for demand for Dash liquidity. Full post here.
