I began to understand why the exchange BTC-E called ETC scam. The exchange primarily cares about the safety of customer funds, and under the guise of a ETC it could be a coin-virus to get purse files from ETX. For example, I trust the bitcoin.org site and the files on it, but I do not trust the new sites, it will soon be in the bitcoin like classic, I can not trust this coin if it does not have links from bitcoin.org

Bitcoin.com to Dump Segwit2x? Roger Ver Might Help nChain Block Segwit - Dash Force News Roger Ver indicated that he may join nChain in blocking Segwit implementation, calling into question adherence to the Segwit2x compromise.
On a recent episode of the Crypto Show, Ver of Bitcoin.com indicated that he has continued to see Segwit as a danger to Bitcoin, and would consider following nChain’s lead in attempting to block its implementation. nChain the company of Craig Wright, who has made clear his intention to block Segwit and claims nChain will be able to generate a significant amount of hashpower. If true, and if Ver joins he indicated might be possible, that could add to the present figure of 50% of Bitcoin blocks mined indicating support for Bitcoin Unlimited.

War on Cash Reaches the UK, Underscores Need for Digital CashVisa is planning on subsidizing UK businesses to stop accepting cash entirely, emphasizing the need for a digital alternative. The large payment processor is reportedly offering substantial incentives to businesses to go cashless, including free upgrades and plain subsidies. The goal is to get businesses to operate exclusively with electronic forms of payment such as cards, Apple Pay, etc. Visa will also reportedly soon test out this “cashless challenge” in the US, offering select businesses $10,000 to go cashless. https://www.dashforcenews.com/war-cash-reaches-uk-underscores-need-digital-cash/

I just completed my first transaction with Coinapult & Crypto Capital. Kind of a hassle to setup, but works great once you figure it. Now I can: 1) Convert DASH to fiat 2) Keep it in Coinapult, or transfer fiat to Crypto Capital 3) Keep it in Crypto Capital to transfer to another exchange, or withdraw to your local bank account via SWIFT. There's the usual KYC/AML requirements for setting up a Crypto Capital account but it's nice to have an offshore bank if/when SHTF happens. P.S. Coinbase can kiss my @$$

Local Bitcoins For Dash – Dashous Proposal Review How do you buy your Dash? Looking for a pretty anonymous way to buy or sell Dash? Since the beginning of 2017 there has been a “local bitcoins for Dash” AKA Dashous
Dashous – Like localbitcoins, for Dash Owner: brettclanton001 – 191 Dash @ $11.62 = $2,220 (added on 2016-10-10) Votes: 955 Yes / 57 No / 0 Abstain Dash.org forum pre-proposal Dashpay Reddit.com announcement
From Brett Clanton’s original proposal:
Localbitcoins.com started in 2012 before the massive bubble and MtGox implosion. It was a way to connect with other bitcoiners and exchange other currencies for bitcoin. A simple and reliable service. Who knows where Bitcoin would have been without it.
I am proposing to create a site called Dashous that will start out in a similar way. It will be a place to post and respond to ads with the intention to meet in person and exchange other currencies for Dash. Think the simplicity of Craigslist meets the reputation system of Ebay. It will be Open Source, completely Dash-focused, and free-to-use.

I agree to 100%. The best investment for today, I think as everything falls in price. This is LTC - it is stable for today! --- Growing trends at the moment have only been ltc, dash and monero, everything else has long unfolded

BitCart Announces Wearable Dash Wallet For Offline Payments At Festivals - Dash Force News The Irish startup, which allows users to buy discounted Amazon gift cards with Dash, is developing the wristband wallet in order to solve the major issue of purchases at festivals. According to BitCart CEO Graham de Barra, this targets the younger generations and eliminates the need for carrying, and potentially losing, valuables:
“Festy’s multi-functional wristband is compatible with every Point-of-Sale system where Visa contactless is accepted, as well as on any mobile phone or computer with NFC tags and offline payments using QR codes. This versatility is adaptable to any environment including fields, beaches, camping sites as well as bars, restaurants and conferences. Festy is an affordable, scalable, and secure payment solution, particularly for millennials and Gen Z who don’t want to carry or worry about their wallet, handbag, cash or backpack at every moment during their social calendar.”Yeah, you can use my DASH to buy

The instamine has been discussed and hashed out at great length by everyone for years. This is old news from more then 3 and half years agoand is a non issue....and has been a non issue for the whole community for a very LONG TIME. We won't be dragged into this beaten dead horse. Good try though

The One Big Winner in the Cryptocurrency Shakeout - Dash Force News It’s been a rough few weeks in the markets. Over the course of less than a month, the combined value of all cryptocurrencies has fallen from $115 billion to $60 billion and dropping. Plenty of once optimistic investors are now in a world of gloom and doom as their favorite projects see significant losses. However, all this bloodshed has not been without its hidden benefits. Yes, one clear victor has emerged from this struggle, made stronger than ever by the trials and tribulations. But first, let’s take a quick look at how we got here.

I am aware of dash it's recent (evolution) roadmap update, and it's plan to do on-chain scaling and I am all for that, but there are also technics such as thin-blocks, that seem to have no down-side for on-chain scaling. There are multiple good idea's/technics that add benifits to a crypto that wishes to have a fully transparent blockchain. Yet I never really hear the dash team say, anything about it, I would have expected to hear things like: "We know that thin blocks work great for bitcoin, and because they here are only upsides we will implement it, or something like that". It sometimes seems to me like the DASH core team is only busy with there own vision, and do not take the input of other great idea's even do they are available in open-source code. I know the dash team is very busy and is keeping the white-paper of dash evolution internal for the time being.
My question is simple is DASH keeping it's ear to the ground, and picking up these low-hangfruits, or do they (currently) have their blinders on focusing on evolution?

No it couldn't. Once the bug was found many Darkcoin/Xcoin had already exchanged hands, that is people paid for them. By killing the project at that point would have meant hurting a lot of people. It couldn't be done, period, not without alienating and hurting a ton of people. I don't understand why that is so hard for people to understand. It was what it was, and certainly by now, it's all been priced in. If you can't understand that, get beyond that, and see Dash for the amazing vision and work that has gone into it because of the very man that made the mistake in the first place (brilliance, ability to gather the most amazing team around him, and continues to lead us in his amazing visions) Then I simply can't help people like you. Keep looking for perfection. As in the Hamilton musical... "wait for it" baby!

The most important thing is that you loose the ability to easily prove and authenticate electronic contracts and transactions. In fact there is no alternative at the moment and undoubtedly, any solution would be clunkier and take up more space, or possibly impossible to do reliably with segwit. With segwit, people could save the segregated witness "chain" of signatures, but very few would, making the authenticity of the information vulnerable. Why would very few do this? Because the data costs money to store, and nobody is paid to do this. Even if a lot of people happily do this today (doubtful - probably only a fraction of current full nodes will. Full nodes are at the same time shrinking due to the cost of running full nodes) These few nodes will be vulnerable to attack. Bitcoin Core is hamstringing themselves for a quick buck (they hoped and now can't back out) by centralizing with Lightening Network and SegWit. It may "work", that is, not be attackable on the main blockchain, as it is now, but it will not "work" in smart contracts and other legal needs of people/businesses (nothing to do with the NSA/governments) http://www.coindesk.com/the-risks-of-bitcoins-segregated-witness-problems-under-us-contract-law/

Check this awsome commentary on reddit for the full politics surrounding the flawed economics and Segwit/BTC scaling, why they don't want to natively scale it etc. TL;DR Version:Blockchain loading isn't a linear function. You can get huge backlogs interspersed by smooth operation across the board on a stop-start basis and therefore the much vaunted "fee market" is an unrealistic illusion.
