After some initial but small successes, the Scottish nobles squabble among themselves over minor issues like land titles and rights of succession. Wallace confronts the nobles and declares he’s going to invade England itself—a seemingly impossible task.

I was reminded of this scene when reading Dash founder Evan Duffield’s Hong Kong Statement. Having initially scored some small successes against the reigning fiat-money system, the Bitcoin community now squabbles over things like SegWit, 2MB block sizes, and Lightning Network. But Duffield wants to “invade England” and challenge the whole fiat payments system. You can’t criticize the Dash founder for being timid, to be sure.

I do this thing colloquially called the “troll patrol.” It mostly involves monitoring social media and forums, identifying instances of people spreading lies and misinformation about Dash, and stepping in to correct the record. The original prospect of the Dash Force was largely to improve Dash’s standing and reputation on social media. Frequently, this has involved countering trolls.

Not everyone understands the value of the troll patrol. That’s understandable, since from the outside it all looks like a bunch of petty fighting and arguing with people who won’t change their minds. Having been in the trenches for some time, however, I can assure you that there’s a lot more going on beneath the surface than meets the eye. To that effect I’m going to write a series of articles on what I’ve learned from countering trolls for a living, starting with narrative control....

When Daily Decrypt ended... I was a bit bummed.   Now ABJ is taking a break from Dash Detailed,   bummed again.    Not sure if it was the content or the host but the show was well done and I looked forward to it.   

Dash community is strong and was also bummed when Evan posted about leaving his post.   But that seems to have been for better things which is nice.    I guess the initial jolts are just more difficult in a decentralized org.   Life in a normal organization is tough enough with politics and so forth...   hopefully this isn't due to internal problems with the Dash team.    The whole CMO thing seems to be causing some turmoil and so forth...

Anyways.  Just letting everyone know my thoughts.  =)    Still holding my nodes and appreciate the 3 year plan that was posted,  just hope everyone finds what they are looking for and have their part of this pretty wild ride we are all on.

We may be overthinking things a little, everyone needs a break every once in a while. Our industry is really intense and the pace of development is very fast, so people need to rest. The cool thing in a decentralized environment is that there are always others that take over during those times so it never stops.

The Leninist model, for example, favored ‘left uninterrupted for long enough.’ That is, they’d simply destroy any printing presses/people who disagreed with the party line. Anarchists in the 90’s, I recall, used to say, ‘Don’t complain about the media. BE the media!’ During the '98 insurrection in Indonesia, we'd go to absurd lengths to track down information from a range of sources, as we we strove to outflank the seriously-right-wing media-control mechanisms in play.

Ripple has launched nearly-instant remittance bank transfers between Japan and Thailand as the Dash network prepares to also leverage its technology.

The SBI Remit bank of Japan, in collaboration with the Siam Commercial Bank, launched a payment channel on the Ripple network to facilitate the transfer of remittances between the two countries. Japan retains a number of Thai immigrants seeking to send funds home to their families, and the new payment channel will drastically reduce the time and costs associated with these transfers. The establishment of this new Ripple payment rail, the first of its kind to leverage blockchain technology between the banks, will allow users to transfer funds from their account to the recipient’s account in under 5 seconds.

What is actually happening here is Icebreaker is in fact a large DASH whale investor. It's become more and more apparent that this is actually what is going on... The strategy between him and a few if his cohorts is to try to suppress DASH to buy in more... While staying silent when it suits them.

“Satoshi” Craig Wright Is Back and He’s Gunning for Segwit


Self-proclaimed Satoshi Nakamoto Craig Wright is back in the spotlight, voicing opposition for activating Segwit and promising a new mining pool to prevent its activation.

Segregated Witness, or Segwit, is an upgrade to the Bitcoin code that was created by Bitcoin Core during the more highly controversial moments of the recent scaling fight. Craig Wright, Australian entrepreneur who claims to be Bitcoin’s enigmatic founder Satoshi Nakamoto, during a recent appearance at the Future of Bitcoin conference called to Segwit to be stopped. He also announced his company nChain will launch a mining pool to this end, supposedly comprising 20% of the network’s mining hashpower. Combined with the last Emergent Consensus levels of over 40%, this could theoretically be enough to hard fork the network.
