There should be a hash for the zip files, preferably mentioned in multiple places, that would assure a lot of people that they've got the real thing.
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

While we understand Darkcoin can be used for things that are illegal/unlawful purposes, we (the Darkcoin Devs) would prefer not to be associated with that in any way. What DarkSend offers is just a more private blockchain, which is useful for all legitimate business also. However, we can't really control what is done with the technology or how it is used.

The official statement on privacy.

+101

If you notice, Kristov has the code to vet.

That means there is something to vet.

That means the code is vettable.

That means.....get the ice bucket ready for some cold drinks.

That means.....we're going to the moon. (Sorry, had to get that moon thing in there).

Would you guys recommend trading on Cryptsy or Mintpal? Any particular downfalls on either one? I get hte impression the Cryptsy market is larger but they seem wildly inefficient.

I've never had a problem with Cryptsy
Deposit - exchange - Withdraw

NEVER keep any coins on an exchange longer then needed.

Never used Mintpal and hopefully they will tighten up security so that they don't get hacked again but anytime an exchange gets hacked I have to think twice about using it later. Use to use Crypto-Rush once in a while but I'll NEVER go back there..... ever. I sat and stared at Mt. Gox, even signed up but I just could not bring myself to making a 1st deposit, even tho I got verified - ugh - glad I didn't end up in that end of the Market....

Anywho - to each their own.

I know somebody is gonna bust my balls for using Cryptsy so please explain why I should not use them.....
Every bit of info I have helps :-D

thanx

Thanks for taking the time, much appreciated Smiley.

Did Kristov ever set a target donation to vet?
Or is it a "the more the merrier" kind of thing?

Not diss'ing or anything, just blabbering

EDIT: sent!

He said he would look at the code regardless, the only thing slowing him down is money.

He exactly said :
"Even if I receive 0 donations, I'll still be reviewing the code, so no worries about that; donations will just enable me to put more concentrated effort into the review, which is especially important in meeting the deadlines that Evan has set to release new versions of the client."

I still use Crypsty because it's the only market for one of my coins. I haven't had any major problems, but I've seen some weird glitchy stuff the last couple weeks that makes me wary.

1) Made a withdrawal, didn't get my coins, so I contacted support. They said I didn't confirm it in email. I did, though. So, I went back to the email, confirmed it again and it was fine.
2) When loading a market, one time it sorted the buy orders from bottom (as in 1 satoshi buy orders) instead of from the top. As soon as I reloaded the page, it was fine. I can't even imagine what the programming looks like to make that happen, though.
3) Related to number 2. When loading a market, the price column was filled with the date the order was placed. Again, reloading the page fixed it.

Like I said, it's weird glitchy stuff, but it's stuff that makes absolutely zero sense, and is not situations where you're like, "oh yeah, I can see that happening." It really makes me question what's happening behind the scenes, and what their code looks like that's causing it.

To be honest on regular days I have had no issues at all with Cryptsy, support has been good and they seem to be consistent, also they are incorporated in the US and are now trading USD so they at least have more to loose if they do something really bad, so I like that better.  On the negative side,  weird things happen on really active days like on coin launches or during big pumps, seems like you cant log in or you loose opportunities because you cant place an order fast enough I think this is a combination of manipulation on their part to take advantage and inability to service the peak in demand.  But other than loosing opportunity because the system lags on peak trading times Ive never had any issues.
