A troll's definition of premine/instamine: "Any coin mined before I heard of it."

R.O.T.F.W.L.  Cheesy Cheesy
This is actually pretty right. A lot of altcoins were blamed including DRK, even BTC. Only because such people weren't there to mine it first.

This is what embarrasses me about half the Crypto community... DRK is still in very early days, this difficulty and price is absolutely nothing compared to what it will be when functionality is finished and the coin starts gathering pace...

It's not too late... You haven't missed anything... Start buying/mining DarkCoin right now and you will still do extremely well in the future...

So what if a bunch of people mined loads of DarkCoin when it was first incepted, good luck to them, they deserve to be rich... It's no different to initial shareholders in a company that went boom...

Just be glad you found out about DarkCoin now, rather than in 12 months time when it's all people are talking about... Then see how difficult it is to mine...

The new generation have arrived and they brought their own currency...

"According to MintPal, only the vericoin wallet was affected during the attack. This includes the database containing sensitive customer information and passwords."

If you use the same password on other exchanges then maybe it is a good idea to change them.

I can recommend this, http://passwordsafe.sourceforge.net/ if you need a password vault program.

Makes it easy to never have same password on any 2 accounts.

Be safe.. Wink

The main issue with the first days miners is the same as new rich people. Many lottery winners found a worse life than before in few years, just because they don't have idea how to handle the fortune. Exactly the same happen with so many sport players, singers and most "instant fame" people. They never got the opportunity to learn how to handle the new situation and fall in addictions, start doing wrong things and other typical problems that for sure many people here know.

Just read some pages following the DRK explosive grow, many of the early holders start doing the wrong things. They never understand that the small / large fortune that they acquire came from other small and large investors and not from their "genius investment techniques".
I don't have any problem with that, because I was fortunate to find Darkcoin at not so high value.

My concern now is to release a reminder: do not invest the money that you will need in the short term. All crypto-coins, including BTC, LTC and DRK, are high-risk investments (good for great profits or huge loses). In my particular case, I can't afford lose more, so I'm quit, at least for the moment.
Be careful with your decisions and don't put your family or your self in risk following people in a wild-west environment, with no insurance or any other entity to protect you (this is the real wild-west financial world with no restrictions, no regulations no lawyers. It's not facebook, or a radio/TV game show.

A smart community is one key for the success in the wild-west financial sector.

Hope will be useful for somebody.

I thought people knew most of the stuff already regarding crypto before investing too much.

How many of you knots have not actually seen this http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-pizza-day-celebrating-pizza-bought-10000-btc/

It sheds some light on the lack of importance of "instamine"

That pizza supposedly made a golden brown nugget. If you want luxury this would be the chocolate chip cookie to eat.

If you don't know when to HODL don't BODL!

I tried it for 3 or 4 days, I was getting about half the DRK I would be getting if I was mining DRK directly... Then as soon as I left they had a bumper run with URO and I missed out on a decent payout...

So my advice would be, give it a week before coming to any conclusions...

my only regret is that back in march i was posting that I wanted to sell my car for 15000 darkcoin (was equal to $5000 USD at the time) and I should have just taken like 5000 darkcoin for a quick sale lol

Our SHA shift just paid out it's largest payment yet (21.2723 DRK), 2x the payout as last shift due to some hot coins on SHA256 right now. They're still hot to so next shift will likely be a good one too but only if more SHA256 miners hop on.

Cheers!

We're almost at 80% masternode payments compliance!! I'll admit I didn't think we could do so well without enforcement, but I didn't knew people like GhostPlayer were going to work so hard on this Smiley

Enjoy the graph.

https://i.imgur.com/lCVwcNz.jpg

Yeah, the masternode compliance police have been out in full force making sure people are paying their masternode tax.  Will there be penalties going forward  for not paying the masternode tax?  Will a non-compliant pool operator be charged late fee's once they do become compliant?  You could probably get a lot of good ideas from the United States Internal Revenue Service about collecting the masternode tax and what to do to those pool operators that are non-compliant.  Maybe you could put a lien on their server or take them to court.  There has to be some way to punish these individuals for tax evasion.  Darkcoin is starting to resemble a government entity or corporation.  It even has has it's own compliance officers and tax collectors.  Enjoy your new image.  It's amazing that you have confessed anarchists embracing a coin that is doing the same things that people complain about governments doing.  I would imagine that if it was possible, some on this thread would condone incarceration and/or fines handed out to those non-compliant pool operators.  Hang em High!

Just dumped the last of my DRK holdings.  I can't get away from this stench fast enough.  I'm obviously not alone either.  Enjoy your centralized masternode solution and compliance officers.  Big Brother will make sure that the masternode operators get every last dime of taxes levied on the miners.  It seems that entire purpose of this coin is to provide income for masternode operators and that the entire masternode concept was designed to take DRK's off the market thereby causing the value to go up.  Anonymity is obviously no longer the driving force behind this coin.  It's all about masternode payments to a few large holders and nothing more.  Enjoy your slow but steady decline towards the bottom.  I just noticed Ripple passed DRK on Coinmarketcap and Peercoin is right behind. The writing is on the wall for everyone to see.

Firstly as stated why is he here but to reenforce a negative that in some way is to his advantage

Secondly if he is done what's in it for him but to prove his point due to questionable self-doubts otherwise why hang around (unless he intends to buy back in)

So now he has found a means by which to put down Dark what is his next step?

a) does he simply exit and pass on Evan delivering a working solution

b) does he simply exit (never to be heard from again) because he feels technically offended (whatever that might mean) OR

c) does he hang around waiting for it to bottom out and buy back in because he realises that tantrums only go so far and that given Evan delivers a working RC4 then the price will bounce and he can make a buck independent of his technical principles (whatever they may be) AND OR

d) does he pull his head in and realise that Dark has the brand and liquidity and has room to make mistakes and improve their offering given their first mover advantage and this gives Dark a tremendous competitive position and combined with the obvious humility and transparency of Evan and his associates the market want's Darkcoin to deliver and we want Evan to win because he doesn't resort to insults and unnecessary name calling but works really hard to keep his commitment to the cause of anonymity.

CLEARLY the motivation behind this rant is because he feels a victim to being asked to pay his Masternode fees and he wants to rain on Dark's parade because he didn't get his way, look at the links and attempts to intimidate.

Personally I feel very comfortable having placed my trust in Darkcoin, Evan and his team and realise now its our responsibility to show our support for character and to demote someone who throws in spurious arguments to hide his true reasoning (I have to say such behaviour reminds me of Karpeles but at least Karpeles was trying to survive rather than acting to destroy something simply because he was petulant)

Trolls hardly affect the price, dont worry too much about them. Most people selling probably haven't even looked at this thread, they're just trying to make a quick buck in other coins for the time being.
