There have been a few issues with DDOS attacks on the web site in the last day or two.

It will be back soon.

I was unable to access the Darkcoin website today and yesterday. Is there any problem ?

Is there an alternative safe place to download the official wallet for Windows ?

DDOS. We've been constantly attacked in the last few days. Last changes made by Evan seemed to be enough, but they've knocked it down again and Evan is probably sleeping, so it will take a few hours to get it up again. We will probably need to create a protocol for this if they keep fucking around. In the meantime, please download directly from Github:

10.17.24 Onyx V3 - All Users

Source: https://github.com/darkcoin/darkcoin
Windows .exe: https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin-binaries/raw/master/darkcoin-0.10.17.24-win.zip
Mac OSX: https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin-binaries/raw/master/darkcoin-0.10.17.24-osx.dmg
Linux: https://github.com/darkcoinproject/darkcoin-binaries/raw/master/darkcoin-0.10.17.24-linux.tar.gz

BUMP.

No need to panic, it will be fixed soon.

Well I took another 100 ish this week... Need a DRK whale to step in now and just put an end to his or her games!
Been putting up a few buy orders around .006 for the past week on crypt. They all filled so I guess someone must be either desperate for money/btc or is trying to maintain the course Cheesy

yep, just coins going from weak hands to proud masternode operators, nothing more...

You've got something there.

'Masternoding' really is one of the pleasures of participating in this coin's evolution.

Although it's a bit of a challenge for someone who's not an everyday Unix geek, it's not insurmountable and great fun learning if you allow yourself a day or two. Also, your helping strengthen the network and get paid for it at the same time.

I'm really blown away that the tally is up to 1800. I thought 1000 tops but the formula has worked and there's only 3 million+ coins left in circulation now.

It's a positive experience all round.

Declaration of conflict of interest:  I'm a modest bagholder and part of the wider Darkcoin team.

My view:  HOLD!

Why?  We have six top class developers who use their real identities working to a clear and transparent development plan.  InstantTX is a gamechanger that seems of particular interest to the gambling industry.  Darksend has huge privacy implications but imho will be a slow grower in terms of adoption.  The masternode network offers so much potential for future development its hard to comprehend.

In addition, a huge number of previous "rivals" have been revealed to be scams of simple P&Ds.  Whilst Darkcoin isn't intended to rival other coins, the pack is thinning out.  LTC seems to be on the decline and there is a chance that some of that money will come this way.

For me, there are too many positives to ignore at the moment.

EDIT:  My first masternode was bought at 0.009 per DRK

The dark knight's rising, hold onto them for a little while longer.

Edit; See Stonehenge's comment for the details  Wink
Edit2; If you're really looking to get rid of them at the current rate please enlighten the fellow DRK'ers on DCT. Someone's always happy to pick em up.

Just to reiterate what I said about the speed of Darkcoin (even before InstanTX is implemented) being of interest to the gambling industry.

Within weeks of Directbet accepting DRK, the volume of bets made (and paid) in Darkcoin exceeded the volume of bets placed in LTC and all other altcoins.

Sell at 0.016 .

We should have a day where everyone goes into Cryptsy/Bitfinex/etc and doubles their sell orders price. Would that even work?  Grin It's a pretty interesting thought experiment.
