It was topping so one would not have got more than say $20MM to $15MM out I expect (which of course is nothing shabby) and if you're anywhere where they want to capital gains tax you then goodbye to 30% - 40% of that or something.

btw, life isn't that far removed from a virtual reality game, yes you can award yourself a ton of good or bad, just treat it more as a game and connect to the level that 'moves' the pieces maybe.

Warning to those running their own MNs.  My masternode servers were kicked off line twice in the last couple of weeks because it exceeded 512 gb of memory.  I lost over 6 dash because of this.  If you're running a MN on a server with 512 ram, I suggest strongly that you upgrade before you're kicked off line Sad

Good Luck!!

Hello Tante, How did this appear? Something that you could see in the logs? I had both of my masternodes go down a couple of weeks ago, but they are running again fine for the moment.
Do you have an active swap partition or a swap file on your droplets? I just checked and Digital Ocean discourages users from setting them up, but maybe that is an alternative if the ram ran out and the system had to kill the process that was allocating too much memory.

My service shows me how much memory I'm using up.  I do have a cron job going, but otherwise, simple Dash setups.  I think if I go over for a certain amount of time, my server shuts down.  I just doubled the ram on them so I don't have to worry anymore.

Well yep, I did, because for one the main dev of LTC, Warren, had zero incentive to dev it and made this very clear to me by just asking me to give him LTC, lots of LTC many times, or forget it. Also Charlie Lee was great but just invented it and moved on, absolutely no updates were happening, he moved to work for Coinbase & I'm not sure but I don't think that they have even added LTC to this day.

Sure, it's popular-ish in China, thanks in part to Bobby Lee of BTCC, but I'd rather back a coin where the devs have a real stake and interest in making it succeed, plus those invested in that have a vote and input on the direction it takes.

Capital gains tax depends on where you reside &/or bank your funds, ie:

This is incredible. I must say I was amazed when the ETH foundation decided to fork - it does turn a blockchain into a bit of a toy.

I'd better log in to Polo and find out what kind of ETH I've got. Musical chains - look it's already happening, ambiguity. Ethereum is evolving into a kind of joke.

They should never have forked it.

Turns out I've got both ETH and ETC - in equal amounts.

In other words if you held ETH before you now have holdings on both blockchains which POLO will let you trade independently.

A mutable chain vs an immutable one. No contest surely. Will it reach critical mass ?  Wink

Depends if Ethereum Classic gets decent hashrate from miners, as that will make their POW secure and safe. Currently its anything but secure and safe.

I also had ETH on Polo and received an equal amount of ETC. I sold ETH and bought more ETC. I don't believe the blockchain should be edited to provide a bailout to naive investors. Where is the lesson learned?
Full disclosure: I was an investor in TheDAO, and sold out the day the hack happened.

Ethereum Classic Network Hash Rate: 134.04 GH

But it's growing by the minute. Now 137 187 GH. Miners smell blood.

Surely that means that Dr Death cannot now fork it with his 9X GHash ? (Unless that 137 included his hashpower already).
