Comparing Dash to Paycoin..... LOL

Faking quotes is not appreciated. The actual quote is entirely reasonable in its context.

Besides, like it or not, there are indeed quite a few parallels between Dash and paycoin beyond just proof of stake. Do you really need me to list them? Of course, there are important differences too, so what other proof of stake coin would you like to compare it with? Lets look at the one's Im aware off:

Peercoin:

NXT:

Blackcoin

and why not add paycoin, since I know of no more PoS coins:

I spot a pattern.

let me save him some time :

not many cryptocurrencies out there with this pattern.

By the way, you all can call me crazy or mad or extremely optimistic but i still stand by my prediction that we will see a new
Dash ATH price by the end of January 2017....

You can go back to early 2014, but the masternode effect hadnt kicked in yet. And you can chart it against BTC so that its volatility rubs off on dash. However, this is what  it looks like in USD, since January 2015,  when the number of nodes was still quite low:

Correlates relatively well with the #masternodes:

image a telecharger gratuitement

There hasnt been a test yet of a significant price drop since the masternode boom, nor a test of market price during a non trivial masternode count decrease. Of course, these things will almost certainly happen together. And we know how that ended for all previous PoS coins.

Good thing Dash is not a Proof of Stake coin and never will be one, which makes any comparison to Proof of Stake coins wearthless.

Dash is and will always be a Proof of Work coin .. sure at some point after Dash Evolution the Proof of Work will be upgraded to Proof of Work 2.0
but there will always be an incentive for both miners and masternodes to operate in Dash.

I even think in a few years Dash will have the strongest PoW network on the planet, by-passing both Bitcoin and Ethereum's number of active full nodes
and making scalability much less a problem for Dash in the future.

The growth of active masternodes (full nodes) will also excellerate exponentially once Dash Evolution is out, with its decentralized masternode shares program.
Never underestimate the power of having blockchain identifyable saving accounts available, in a time of decreasing global banking interest rates (with my bank its currently at 0.9%).

Also never underestimate the economics at play in Dash and its Masternode Network : a lower number of active masternodes will increase the masternode rewards, which will attract new
masternode buyers.

No it doesnt. It doesnt matter that only half the mining revenue is from staking. What matters is you're promising >10% ROI with ~zero running costs. Thats whats luring in the masses, inflating the bubble, just like it did with previous PoS coins.

LOL, again, proving my point!
Did you know you can get >20% interest rate on a bank account?
Just put your money in a bank in Venezuela. Maybe then you'll begin to understand the importance of asset value instead of focusing on percentage rates.

The growth of active masternodes (full nodes) will also excellerate exponentially once Dash Evolution is out

Really? Just how many masternodes do you think are possible, given a 1000 dash minimum?

Yeah, i see you have a thorough understanding of the mechanisms at play. Good luck with your investment.

Since it's festive season, some goodwill to all is called for - even to purveyors of "nodecount level-off flood myth" theories !

Happy christmas everyone. Hope you all enjoy appropriate amounts of turkey, grape-juice & rice pudding regardless of whether your favourite coin mooned or swooned  Grin

Woo hoo! I'm in Western Australia, so it's Christmas morning here while still Eve in north America. Here is my place, certainly one of the most isolated crypto HQs in the world.

There's a little wooden bench in the garden in the picture. You are all welcome to come drink beer and feed the tame-wild emus, which will come right up to eat from your hand. If you've got a laptop QT, you can to P2P bullion-DASH trades right here in the garden. Our 'D L Ex' exists to facilitate OTC trading:

I appreciate the effort, but Icebreaker has been trying to tell these guys that Dash is a HYIP scam for quite a while, and they just don't listen.  Wink

Did Dash repository migrate from github to somewhere else? When I look at github, I see pretty much no work done since the beginning of the year:
https://github.com/dashpay/dash/graphs/commit-activity
and virtually no one working on the code:
https://github.com/dashpay/dash/graphs/contributors

Is github no longer the primary repo?

Poor poor troll, creating such weak fud posts like this one. There is a saying : never go full troll.
Congratz P4man, you just made it to full troll.

For those interested to help out on Testnet with our upcoming update v12.1 :

https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/testnet-tools-resources.1768/
https://www.dash.org/forum/threads/12-1-testnet-testing-phase-two-ignition.10818/

quote from Evan Eduffield describing update 12.1 currently on Testnet and a call to arms to have it tested :
Quote
Hello Everyone,

I’m pleased to announce the second phase of public testnet testing for version 12.1. In phase one we’ve been working on merging upstream changes from Bitcoin into Dash-core. This included many changes to the way blocks are handled, nodes are handled and improvements to memory management and locking issues we’ve experienced.

12.1 is the first version of the software that is the hint at what everyone can expect from evolution. 12.1 can be thought of as a pre-alpha of the evolution software, where all eventual functionalities will be accessible through low level APIs, allowing users to integrate existing software and experiment with Dash before it goes completely live and is accessible through friendly interfaces.

To begin we’re going to introduce superblocks, proposals and contracts in the 12.1 software. This means that we will have mirrored the software capabilities in 12.0, with the budget system, but using a brand new decentralized governance system created purely for dash evolution.

So what can you do for Dash testing? We want users to come in and test all of the basic functionality, such as mixing coins, instantly sending monies, even creating our brand new shiny governance proposals, then sentinel superblocks. This system is completely autonomous, therefore to test it you’ll need to follow a guide to setup the masternode correctly.

Besides the many changes below, the system also uses a brand new signaling mechanism which allows the masternodes to form a collective opinion about various states of governance objects, such as funding, validity and many more. This is an extendable system which allows the network to custom design it’s own infrastructure, while only updating dashd yearly at most. This will allow quick resolution of new ideas, implementation and release without risking network security by over releasing versions of the primary network protocol.

For those interested, here are some preliminary results of mixing with latest version v0.12.1.0-70b3740  on Testnet while using the multi-session option :

Mixing results of 1000 Dash / 8 rounds on Testnet
Time period : 1 hour and 20 minutes

There is still room for improvement and a need to have it tested, so please join us on Testnet.

That's a common confusion, I explained this few days ago https://twitter.com/UdjinM6/status/811552056783884288
Sadly there is no way to switch github stats to another branch (at least afaik).
