Conspiracy time…I read the Winklevoss twins recently had to liquidate their thousands of bitcoins in order to get their new bitcoin ETF through the submission process. What if they are the ones buying up into that 250,000 DRK address because they see DRK as a significant BTC competitor?

Why would they have to liquidate their holdings to get their ETF through the SEC? Source? Doesn't make any sense.

Here is one: http://www.equities.com/editors-desk/currencies-forex/bitcoin-etf-means-winklevii-likely-dumped-their-64-million-in-btc

I'm not very familiar with the SEC, not being from the US, but it sounds like a reasonable assertion that they would be stricter in enforcing regulation of ETFs trading in a new market like Bitcoin.

I really like Darkcoin.  I am a noob so here is a noob question...will masternodes be the only way to mine Darkcoin moving forward or are the regular methods still valid?

Regular mining will still be valid, master nodes will receive 10% of block reward for providing their services.

Ugh! This thread is going so fast, I can't keep up!!

just bought quite some DRK, comfort me by telling we will hold til this innovative coin reaches the moon and beyond!  Grin

I will tell you honestly, if I had money, I'd be buying more, if I had bitcoin, I'd still put it all in dark.  I don't know much, but that's how positive i feel about Darkcoin. Unfortunatey, I'm all out, can't do anymore and wil have to sell some of my dark next month to pay bills, so i really hope it continues to do well Smiley

just a question. I shutdown my masternodes today, however the ip addresses are still showing up on the list command. Is this normal? Do I have to issue masternode stop from the wallet that contains 1000 drk? The ip is no longer active and yet is still displayed.

yes, it was earlier today....~4ish?. I can give a list of the ips that were attached to the vms that were hosting the masternodes if that helps. Also, it was a remote set-up....the way TanteStefana describes in the darkcoin thread.

On the local machine :
Code:
masternode stop

It's still running on your local machine and saying to the network that YOUR_SERVER_IP (-masternodeaddr=YOUR_SERVER_IP) is the IP of the masternode.
