Right, Bitcoin was trying to get retail acceptance, maybe people buying a tshirt dont care about the transparent blockchain. But it is not fit for B2B, I am in the distribution business, and definitely you dont want your competition knowing who your providers are, when you buy inventory, at what price, when do you sell, at what price, is ridiculous, Bitcoin is not fit for B2B period. Darkcoin has a shot at it so I support it, I think too many people in this forums have technical knowledge but lack business experience to see the big picture.

This.

A lot people don't understand yet that Darkcoin will be mainstream.
Right now a lot of people think about a niche, darknet etc, but privacy, this is way bigger. Personal, business.

Look at the big picture. We're onto something, we'll make it happen.

Privacy in financial transactions is still the front runner, has been from the first post

I know Warren Buffett isn't a friend of Alts - but he did give some good advice that is applicable here - he taught to buy the market leader in each niche. For anonymous crypto that is currently DARK. The others like Monero are far behind, and even if they have good ideas, either other competitors will beat them, or Dark will simply steal their ideas and implement them as well or better (I have a high opinion of the Dark dev). Either way it's foolish to invest in the distant also-rans rather than Dark, IMHO.

You are missing the point. Warren Buffett invested with 10+ years vista. When Warren Buffet bought shares of the Washington Post he lost money, 10 years later he made 380K off the original 10K investment.
What we know for sure is, ring signatures are basic for anonimity and Darkcoin is on a clear dead end there.
What matters at the end of the day the is the coin's functionality. The only reason Darkcoin has to exist is the anonimity factor, and MRO's tech is based on anonimity only and scalable. Marketing means shit nothing at the end of the day in this business. DOGE just put a Nascar car with their branding on national television and the price is crashing again.

What's interesting to me is all I hear is MRO this, MRO that. Why is MRO the de facto cryptonote coin? Why is it better than the others? What does it offer that they don't?  Huh It's not the first CN coin. Its market cap is way smaller than BCN's. Of course BCN is no angel either. I just don't get it.

MRO trolls. Monero doesn't matter now, it's been worked over every day for the past weeks.

Most folks are decent, but there are always exceptions.

You clearly have an agenda, you want  to attract people to your coin so you can make money, I understand. But this is not the way to do it, the only reason that coin was rushed is because Darkcoin created a new market opportunity. Darkcoin is an original coin, original X11, original difficulty adjustment DGW3, original anonymity Darksend. All delivered in a professional and transparent way with a real developer. Dark will continue to improve its solution and I am investing in the development team, in the future product, regardless of the current features, because I can recognize talent. Do you think we are all going to run invest in your coin just because you say so? Do you think real money will come here and won't inform themselves before making an investment decision? If you like your coin so much then put all your money into it and we will see in a few months who made the right decision.

On top of all that, Darkcoin has a strong community supporting the coin from before it was successful, there is a culture here, people wont sell just because the price went up. We want to see this project be successful and we are working towards that goal. You are a group of opportunist brought together by the opening DRK created, all pirates looking for booty, and I am certain you will be dumping at the first rally, so no thank you. Now go back to your thread and do something productive for your coin.

RC3 Progress Report

I've had some substantial progress on DarkSend and have figured out how to make our existing system as secure as ring signatures. Vastly improved security, no bloat (from the ring signatures) and without actually having to trust new cryptography (it hasn't been extensively tested like what DarkSend uses) . So I think it'll give us a HUGE advantage in the coming months. More to come soon, I'm going to start implementing this tomorrow.  Grin

Watch other trade press follow suit. Coindesk as already retweeted the Wired article.

Let that sink in for a moment. Grin

Coindesk on twitter...saying they are going to do something on Darkcoin. Based on past performances, probably a hatchet job.

Not that it matters any more, but what are the chances that coindesk will release an article tomorrow about Darkcoin?

I think its reasonably high, 5-1

All I know is I'd rather have a dedicated dev with a real name and face associated with the project that has continued to deliver vs some fly-by-night dev hiding behind the mask of a username with little dedication and a keen ability of copying and pasting code. Again, tell me one other dev that has committed to at least January 2016 towards the development of their coin, continues to achieve and exceed targets, and is openly transparent. Shockingly, I can only think of one.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

stabilization @ 0.018 would be great !  Waiting for my bank for buying more Cheesy

Unfortunately I think that was either a bear trap or some quick profit taking.

If you sold out of fear, you need to read this book.

If you sold, caused a panic sell and bought back, sounds like you have already read it.

Unfortunately for lohveh - not me.  I'm in the next tent over from you at Camp Maybe-When-It-Hits-$300

With darkcoin RC3, ring signatures will be irrelevant.

did DRK fork ?

it certainly has. please do not send any transactions to any wallets untill its fixed. update in 18hours.
Nothing is broken. Everything woks perfectly if you have updated. Masternode payments start soon, that's all.

I thought the actual forking doesn't happen until the first block that pays the masternodes?  You just have to make sure you update your wallet before Sunday (preferably now).  There shouldn't be any issues, we've hard forked 3 times already to implement things, it's really no big deal Smiley

I had a fantastic conversation with Stan from Coindesk yesterday. It was about 25 minutes and I gave him a great overview of DarkSend and the masternode system. The article will be great for darkcoin.

Marketcap means nothing and being the first means nothing. Litecoin is a clone from Tenebrix, guess where Tenebrix is at now. Marketcap will grow with hard work and functionality, not a nice logo.

MRO uses BCN as base, just as DRK uses BTC as base, simple as that.

MRO team is composed from veterans, go ask on IRC.
