Question: The biggest problem of Darkcoin?

Answer: It can't be simply copied and launched into hundreds of IPO/POS/etc. clones.  Wink

Yeah, the shitdevs hate that. Hence, the trolls and FUD spread here.

Monero is interesting until you realize it's only a half-measure. I'm not knocking it. Many altcoins get part of the equation correct. It is these that feed DRK's total solution. Without the valid halfway there solutions seen in otehr failed projects, it would be impossible to piece the puzzle together.

BTC started the experminet, and DRK is as close to a finalized solution that the crypto community has thus far spawned. With a dev that keeps moving along with the moving target, DRK has, by far, the best chance to become the final product that the BTC experiment was meant to catalyze.

ShitCoin daytraders and fanboys can't examine one leaf while also keeping the entire forest in focus. That's why I win and they lose.

Yeah, most devs seem happy to develop their coin, release it into the wild and then play hands-off with it, other than maintenance releases to fix bugs, etc.  Coins that have seen significant additions of new features after initial release are few and far between.  The biggest that I can think of really aren't even that significant and just fix mining problems such as implementing (and then fixing) KGW, etc.

It is refreshing to have a dev who is committed to being hands-on and implementing new features as time goes on.  So many devs are over-dedicated to "stability" and extremely reluctant to hard-fork.  Crypto is a fast-moving space, and if your coin doesn't change then it will be left behind.

If your users can't update their wallets then it's their fault.

I wouldn't call Monero a shitcoin. It has good ideas, but it doesn't go full circle. Just because a coin finds itself, technically, on the cryptocoin scrap-heap, does not make it shit. Unless you're nothing but a daytrader who doesn't know fuck about fuck...

Just a matter of time until 0.02 get blown away.. On its way to 0.1

Poor LTC.. lol

I think the whole 0.02 thing is prooving to be a bit psychological. Once over that....

Something about round numbers like that always seems to cause a hangup.  Even on a bull run.

Mmm, I don't know.  I've been watching that sellwall on Mintpal and it seems that they are holding steady.  Honestly it is a good idea to have a large amount of volume churn to establish prices.  Going from .015 to .02 too quickly or on low volume without filling in the gaps between will lead to easy retracement.  We need a large amount traded in the .015 to .02 range before the price feels solid.  Also the buy orders need to catch up and have some solid buywalls in that range.  Once that happens, that sellwall will disappear.  We are getting there.  ~20BTC buywall at .019 right now, ~25BTC at .0185.

IOW, the people maintaining the sellwalls are interested in the long-term stability of DRK and don't want it to rise too fast.  When they have decided that the price has churned within the given range for long enough, and the buy side has caught up to the market, they will drop the sellwalls.

BTC price up a fair bit today, and DRK is still rising against BTC.  Smiley

DRK already sucked out almost every BTC buy walls of other altcoin's, so DRK can only grow (by significant amounts) by utilizing BTC which wasn't part of the altcoin market before, meaning people probably need to buy BTC by fiat to invest into DRK (at least until a big enough fiat/DRK market emerges on a mainstream fiat/crypto exchange).

OT but wow, Doge falling like a rock now...
I dumped the last of my Doge after the nascar race.  When we didn't see any sort of pop from that, I figured it would be a gradual decline from there.

Hopefully they prove me wrong as it's a great community of people.

I'm down to DRK and BTC as my crypto holdings.

Monero is interesting until you realize it's only a half-measure. I'm not knocking it. Many altcoins get part of the equation correct.

DogeCoin proved that mass mining even with mass inflation can still result in a functional cryptocoin because anyone can spend it due to anyone having it. No exchange needed, you can mine a truckloack, there is no diff.  It was considered a guaranteed failure, but where is it's market cap? Even with no exchange for most of it's lifetime. It shows us that deflationary isn't really a requirement. Being untethered is actually more important. Having a limit is nice, and a good thing. But it's not mandatory. Even if your coin gets the max coin limit all wrong, the decimal points will find their place.

It is these that feed DRK's total solution. Without the valid halfway-there solutions seen in other failed projects, it would be impossible to piece the puzzle together. It's evolutionary, but real because there are intelligent minds at work.

BTC started the experminet, and DRK is as close to a finalized solution that the crypto community has thus far spawned. With a dev that keeps moving along with the moving target, DRK has, by far, the best chance to become the final product that the BTC experiment was meant to catalyze.

Do what you want with that info...

Yeah, the DOGE community is great.
They've done a lot for thy crypto community, getting a lot of media attention and introduced wider audience into it.
Not to mention, unlike some other communities they are very positive and don't play low/troll etc.

Guys, someone have written on the bitcoin wiki what appears to be false information with regards to DarkSend and masternodes and how one could receive 10% of the mining rewards without actually running a masternode. https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Altcoin#Application_Built_on_top_Of_Cryptocurrency

The other information like "one doesn't need to make a new protocol such as "Darkcoin"" also sounds like bullshit.

(Haven't yet read the last 15 pages so I don't know if this has been addressed yet.)

Also, for you more technically inclined, it appears the Darkcoin nay-sayers think implementing DarkSend is easy and would not require a hard fork to bitcoin if it were to be implemented. Please prove them wrong with your technical mumbo-jumbo: http://www.reddit.com/r/CryptoCurrency/comments/2643st/wired_darkcoin_the_shadowy_cousin_of_bitcoin_is/

+1.
A win-win situation will be a potential merge. Scrypt is going nowhere and the Doge community is big, educated and really nice.
Somebody propose a merge between LTC and Doge, but neither side will won at the end.
