Have you got some books to learn crypto-trading?
I'm sick of reading thoses advices that seems pretty steady afterwards, and place my trades only with a look at the direction of the wind...
So if there is som "crypto-trading 101", I'll be pleased to buy it.

okay, here i the first chapter:

1) buy DRK
2) hold
3) wait for it...

I am new to darkcoin - today is my day 1
Currently downloading darkcoin wallet software - on their site they recommend Mintpal.com , so I registered there.

QUESTION:
Does anyone know about how long it takes at Minpal.com for BTC/DRK deposits to get active and withdrawals to get paid ? Is it instant ?

To me DRK does *not* look like pump'n dump. By now people can trade DRK at Bitfinex - I expect DRK price going up  because one can imagine that majority of people is looking for real anonymity when transferring coins.

And this is why you don't dump Darkcoin in a panic kids. That monster dump of 15k @ .00098 last week... that guy must be feeling pretty sorry today.

Well, actually, the joke might be on you  Wink

That could have been a very experienced day trader who's been trading in and out of DRK since it started moving significantly a month ago. They might have been making money on every rise and every fall.

You're just looking at a single trade. You can't tell if that was simply a profit take from a longer term trading strategy or not. Not everybody is a long term investor.

To day trader whales, markets like this are just a way to accumulate more Bitcoin. They don't care what the price of the day is as long as it's moving. Also, they don't worry about getting "left behind" because they're in and out of this coin the whole time. Whenever you see a big buy or a big sell there's probably a 75% chance that that money has been going in and out of the market about 50 times.

Well actually I was buying those sells with both fists. It remains to be seen if the joke is on me. I haven't realized my gains for the most part. Time will tell.

The transfer is pretty fast a few minutes. But they have to confirm the deposit. Give it 20 minutes or so, sometimes longer. I agree that bitfinex is a huge deal. Most coins get pumped on rumors of being added to another exchange, which is only a matter of convenience really. But bitfinex is on a totally new level. On top of the functionality of shorting and leverage, it will give Drk a status that few alts have been able to garner. I think the real gains have yet to be realized. I just hope I can hold on.

I know they only offer BTC and LTC now but have they ever offered any other ALT?  If not, this makes it that much bigger of a deal.

My only concern is whales opening shorts then initiating dumps to fill their shorts.  Not sure if this is advantageous in the end but could really mess with regular market trends.

i m sure that this information is hidden in the pages before, but i cant find it on short hand,
so please forgive me:

how big was the sell wall when it was placed for the first time?
how much was eaten,
how much was taken back?

thx!

I checked my order history and there was a 150 btc sell wall at .0099, I'm not sure how many were pulled and how many were bought. I got 5 btc of it. It was pretty intense. I think it was all bought.

Edit: .0099

Just bitcoin and litecoin, they must consider darkcoin to be part of the exclusive trio. Only way is up.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

In my opinion price needs to surpass previous high from a few weeks ago, if it does look out! Holding tight on my 1500+ DRK coins.

At 0.00099, really? So that sell wall would be worth about 3500 BTC now. About 2 million dollars. Smiley

Is there a lightweight implementation of this? We would like to make a version of Hive that supports it.

Hive, a beautiful, secure wallet with an app platform for Mac OS X, Android and Mobile Web. Translators wanted! iOS and OS X devs see BitcoinKit.

That 150btc sold at .009 still would of been worth 340 btc now.
