Can someone tell me, why there are still people investing in darkcoin? Seems silly to me with a few other anon options out there who are doing it way better then darkcoin.

Anyone care to explain?
First-mover advantage, on Bitfinex (only 3 cryptos traded there), best logo.   Tongue

First mover advantage... I get that, I also get that there's a bunch of money tied up in darkcoin too. But sooner or later you guys must realize that other coins are doing it better, faster and with more innovation.

I expect to see darkcoin loose a lot of its volume to others in the near future. First the whales need to figure out how to cash out 1000's of btc's in darkcoin to get into others.

Will be interesting to see what will happen on Jun 30 with BTC. For obvious reasons 30k BTC need to be inserted (redistributed in some part) in the system, and DRK and NXT are on the first line of receptors.

On that note, I expect that Circle will purchase all the lots and those coins will never make it to the markets most of us trade on. Let's just say I have a hunch! So I doubt that will affect anything but btc's value. And I expect those coins to sell for over market value, because once its news that they did sell above market, then the market will react and prices will move up for sure.

Think about it, If circle pays 30M for 30K coins, they price on all the markets would be back at 1000 within minutes and for sure Circle wants to bring up the value of btc because they are already massive holders.

It all makes sense.. no?
Everything else you said in this thread is completely ignorant. I don't think fud, but you're just not even willing to look at basic logic.

However this is a scenario I had not considered, and it honestly makes a LOT of sense. Not just for circle, but for any large holder. If news gets out that they were purchased for 850-1000 dollars / BTC, that will trigger a massive uptick in price. Given that the majority of the leaked bidder list is already known to be large (some $1 million +) bitcoin holders, it would be of great benefit for them to drive the price up/

LMAO!!

Actually, I hold a few coins, BTC, LTC Cloak, and even some Darkcoin, although I have been selling my dark and stocking up on cloak for the last 2 weeks.
I don't believe any coin will ever pass BTC as its the one with the 100's of millions flowing into it via VC, traders, investment bankers ect.

BTC is always going to be number one, without a doubt, you can quote this!

I think people still don't fully understand the advantages of masternodes. It's diverting block reward to non-miners. That reward can be tweaked to produce various outcomes.

Btc is guaranteed to lose number one spot as development has virtually halted. And the ecosphere is resistant to any major changes.

Maybe I dont get it, but why as a miner would I want my rewards going to non miners, and I beg to differ about btc dev being halted.
the ecosystem is being built behind the scenes as we speak, the etf is coming, paypal is coming, ebay is coming, apple came around.

You're dead wrong about btc losing top spot. I'm willing to lock away a few btc for a year... wanna get into a bet?

BTC is COMPLETELY WIDE OPEN.
Nobody writes down the Serial's on their fiat.
And in the end - People are going to want to make sure that their Trans ID is JUST as untraceable.

While BTC might be for Public Disclosure.
DRK will be used for Private transaction.

Every Man and Woman has the RIGHT TO PRIVACY ! !

Get over it.

Miners invest Money = Electricy and Rig(s)
Non-Miners (MasterNodes) investment = Coin
Maybe later another non-miner investment choice will be had...... oh - I've said to much.........

Keyword(s): Investment, Development

I feel like I'm talking to an 8 year old with you.
My 12 year old daughter understands this better then you seem too.

Listen here buddy, this world works above the books, there is over 4 trillion traded in forex daily, this has to be above the books, cant be hidden. SO yes, people deserve a right to privacy but btc will be number once because there is more business above the books then below!

Now go take your kid to the park and talk about quantum physics and get off my ass please.

As a miner you do not want to share the block reward but mining is essentially pointless other than to secure the blockchain. That's the whole point: miners see it as pointless to change which is why Btc will never improve technologically.

I don't need to bet with you, I have bet on darkcoin with a reasonable percentage of my holdings. Further, I find 12 months arbitrary. In my view, it is inevitable that Btc will lose top spot over time; be it 12 or 60 months. It has no inherent privacy properties. And mining is wasteful. Diverting a portion of reward allows for privacy innovations and other processes to take place. If you disagree that's fine. Betting is a little childish wouldn't you agree?

Well, would you sell your btc for $600 is circle just paid 1000 for theirs. I do believe this is what we'll see but you never really know till it's done and over!

Will the final sale amounts be posted? I believe there should be a public record. We'll know soon enough I guess.

I think you're making a big assumption there bob about businesses wanting to be wide open. I see google and apple are happily offshoring profits. Btw, it is you who is in the wrong forum. We are not on your "ass".

Im kind of curious to know if the dev's trade around this info or halt their trading activity day of patches? It can be dangerous to play in these games when this is the case. I have no reason to believe but have the dev's assured anyone that they don't trade off the knowledge?

Kinda seems well played for those in the "know"

The next week will be telling.  If they fix this in the next week, it seems suspicious.  Run the Rev knowing its going to fork, buy at the low, then have a quick turn around fix after saying it was going to take 2-3 weeks...

The amended date for RC3 was going to be next week, it was brought forward.

Then this is suspicious... read the post above yours, there are now 20,000 orders, and 8,000 supply, price will probably go to 17 or 18 in the next few days and more after the Rev "fix".  It would be quite easy to manipulate the market if you knew what was going to happen.  To me it seemed like a simple fix for something that had been pre-"tested".   The market plummets, Dev and team buy between 13-14 and then fix it shortly after and sell for 18-19...

You're an idiot, and so is buy4crypto. If you were actively participating with testing and development, as all are welcome to, you might realise just how ridiculous your speculations are.

If this is such a great scam for the developers, it's also open to everyone else who's been paying attention and helping out the team.

Read your post...  You don't think you can be played, or that the dev team and the other 8 helping could have taken advantage of the other DRK holders.   It just seems suspicious that this was released, team said it would take 2-3 weeks, the next day it is only going to take a few days... in the mean time the price goes to 135 and then probably back to 17-18 in the next day or two....  Just the 2-3 weeks to fix statement could effectively be an opportunity for those in the know...

Quite Prophetic...  You can say this is FUD but with a dev that was able to mine for the first 24 hours uncontested and holds a large share of coins, shouldn't you ask for transparency in his trades around big announcements like above.

I dont think betting is childish nor would the millions of adult's who place bets daily. How about you call a casino in Vegas and ask them if they think betting is childish.

I also dont think mining to protect the network is pointless, I believe its needed and works just fine. What's pointless about it? I mean its a secure network on which billions can be traded on safely. Don;t you think we need some sort of security for that?

I see no difference between 60PH and 100PH. Why? Ghash is at more than 51%. More hashing power does not solve a protocol problem. In my view diverting the block reward is not detrimental to the network, while providing privacy benefits. In future, I think it will be possible to tweak the MNs to do other things, including discouraging 51% attacks.

Arguably, this is already the case. Investing in MNs is already more profitable than mining. Anyway, we should stop polluting the forum. I'm not going to respond to you further.

Ok, change of topic. Where is Mike3 and his TA forecast?

0.02 > 0.021. then profit take to 0.018 and below, cycle pumps between 0.016 and 0.02 until release of RC4.
My understanding is that he dumped all and expected to buy back at 0.01?

With todays softfork and release of 9.11.4 / 10.11.4 masternodes payments are now live AND paying out!

But as far as I understand it, the payments are only made if the block was solved by a pool running the latest 9.11.4 / 10.11.4 darkcoind software. So more payments will happen as pools update.

So if you want to drive masternode payments, mine on a pool which has updated!

Pool:
www.drkpool.com (official pool)

p2p pools.
I'm not sure what happens here as all p2pools are connected/
