They're elbzo's masternodes - there will be a script checking each one and displaying the results on the web page, same as chaeplin does. But I'm also not listed in Chaeplin's page under sv03 column http://drk.poolhash.org/masternode.htmlIs that his problem or mine ? What do those sv03 columns mean anyway ? Is that each one of his daemon's looking for and detecting other masternodes ? Do we need green lights in each column ?

Hi, will it be possible to open source the voting system of MN once the new one is set up?
I think it would give confidence

Nice! I'd work on bolt hold open followers if I had the resources and time. I MacGyvered a few and they are all I use. Im surprised nobody is making them. Keep up the good Darkwork!

Guys, there was a long update posted a few pages back. @eltito Anyway we can get links to these updates in the first post? I appreciate the time you spent typing that out, but if it gets lost in the thread then people will still say communication is a "problem". We discussed this yesterday on the darkcointalk board, I need to get with Evan and come up with an efficient way of updating the OP here.

He experiments with them and the scripts that grab info from them, so don't expect 100% consistency, as long as your node reports :1 'with masternode list | grep <yourIP>' you're fine.

Jeez, another dump, looks like we'll be testing 0.01 before going back up... I didn't see that one coming The regular intervals are unnatural as well. Seems like someone trying to crash the price. Luckily they will eventually run out of coins. Darkcoin threatens many very wealthy & powerful parties who are used to quietly & efficiently eliminating threats against them. I'm sure there is more going beneath the surface that we can't see. I believe in the dev team & what they are doing so I'm holding. The price can't fall forever. I think on the contrary it will be an excellent tool for the rich - generally the more you have, the more you value your privacy. If anyone is crashing the price it's so they can buy more. I guess I should define "rich". I'm talking about parties that deal in Billions & have the power to write laws in their favor. Parties who tell governments what to do. Agencies that have literally unlimited money. Remember the 2 trillion that Mr. Cheyney announced was missing on sept 10th ? There is so much corruption in our global system & many want to keep it that way.

These people aren't idiots, useful tools will be adopted. Think NSA and linux... they are actually active contributors, it's in their interests to be so.

Another question guys. Can i use the wallet.dat from ubunto darkcoin-qt with the windows-qt ?
dumpprivkey <youraddress> and importprivkey <the private key from above> <label>
Yes you can, just drop it into your AppData/roaming/darkcoin directory. In case you use the wallet.dat in there, re-name it so it doesn't get overwritten! And do so with the wallet closed

Yes it could be. But what happens when people don't realize the profit they thought they would get from running a masternode? They have close to $10,000 tied up that could be put to use elsewhere with potentially much higher returns. If the number of masternodes starts to decrease will that be an indicator of long term uncertainty?
But everyone running a masternode now knows this is a temporary thing. It does two things, allows MN holders a little bit of payments while the kinks are worked out, and it allows Evan a chance to see how the non-enforced rules are functioning and their consequences so he can fix any unwanted results. So even so we're not getting "fair" payment, we're at least getting a chance to get a little bit of coin. Also, don't forget, the reason the MNs are paid like they are is because if they were all paid a portion, like in a pool, it would create unholy blockchain bloat. It's just not feasible. So what we have here is one account paid each block, which is a reasonable amount of info to store. The rest of the mechanism for voting is done so nobody can cheat. Here's the thing. Even if people were to get full payments, will running a masternode still be a good investment? I could take the same amount of btc that people have tied up in a masternode and likely make 10% in a week based on previous returns. How many DRK would I get in a week running a masternode? It would take around 100 DRK for me to see the same kind of returns. If I don't see an increase in profit then I'm not tying my capital up running a masternode. And I'm sure that there are masternode operators that feel the same way. If masternode profits don't meet expectations people will simply shut it down, sell DRK, and make profit somewhere else. And I know that running a masternode is all about profit from reading the posts in this thread. Profit profit profit was the selling point and buzz word for the reason to host a masternode. Better hope that the profit meets expectations or those nodes will be going down right and left. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised there are still 500 or so Masternodes online. 1 DRK per day is nothing -- NOTHING -- for having 1000 DRK tied up. And if you're paying for server fees and such, it's even worse. I don't know who would run a MN that costs probably $10-$20 per day in fees just to earn $10 per day in DRK. Some of them are likely IT professionals using company servers for their own gains; I can't think of any other way to make it truly worthwhile. Sorry? What's your cost of 10$-20$ per day? You could rent a nice VPS for 10$ per MONTH. With 10-20$ for electricity you could even let a few of your rigs running. I don't expect you made a wrong calculation this time, Jarred. Normally you're good at math.
