Our commitment to transparency: Vitalik explains the planned withdrawal from our exodus address, within 48H -

https://blog.ethereum.org/2014/08/08/announcement-on-planned-exodus-withdrawal/

That's good stuff to know thanks for sharing

The intent is to withdraw 4150 BTC from our exodus address within the next 48 hours.

We reserve the right to withdraw up to 850 BTC more if needed before the end of the 42 day duration of the sale, but at this point it is likely that the remainder of the BTC in the address will remain unused until the sale ends.

Of this amount, 2650 BTC will be distributed to pay for loans for prior expenses. Individuals who have contributed loans to the project will receive repayment in BTC directly; “we” will not be selling any portion of this 2650 BTC on exchanges ourselves, although individuals may choose to independently convert the BTC that they receive into fiat after the fact.

Believing in Bitcoins and it's ability to change the world

The Ether will not exist until the developers mine the Genesis block, which they anticipate happening in the winter of 2014-2015. After mining the Genesis block, they will send the IPO’d Ether to everyone who participated in the presale.

I think this project will be useful in the future to develop cryptocurrency applications but I don't see how it will work as a profit making business. Why should software developers use this instead of one of the leading software development applications which are competitively priced?

They've already completed a large amount of the work and progress has been excellent. As I understand the main problem lies with continuing the work in silicone valley, because it's very hard to get taken seriously unless you're known to be having coke fueled orgies with Russian prostitutes, or drive a Venom GT or equivalent race car  Cry

This is just retarded on so many levels.

I think they should have closed their funding from VCs instead of offering currency in IPO style, people buying this are speculators who have 0 clue about a single line of code up on their github page, and thus the "value" of their work will be represented in the value of the currency, which is subject to spculation and massive drops/surges. Not to mention navigating "silicon valley" without investors for imigrant russians is not the easiest thing to do.

I cant take your opinion serious, you'll defend the coin no matter what since you bought from  the IPO.

People are buying so madly, what would be the long term price of one ether? Will it be 100 dollars? Nay..... supply would be so much?
