I need help understanding something.
at current lower end rates of 0.015 btc/mhash/day.. renting rig out still yelds 1.5-2x more value than mining at most pools, including some of my favourite ones... I really don't get the economics of renting.. I mean, I'm loving it, but I don't get what makes it profitable to the renter?? I.e... Ican't find a pool that would pay me more then I'd get for leasing my rig out.. even with altcoins and coin switching. etc.
I expect the bulk of rentals are on new coins that have just come out. For ones that take off the early days can be very very profitable so I expect people are trying to acquire as many coins as possible at the beginning when the diff is low and the block rewards are highest.

so you are dumb!? it has been explained like 10 times on this thread... imagine you cannot own a rig... then renting is the only option. I know nobody (except noobs) that mine for "now"... mining and investing into mining means trusting a coin and its future... of course there are some small gains made in a matter of hours or days, but the money is in "keeping" good coins until they ralley... I bought most of my BTC at 10-20$, then some around 80$... and I didn't do that to sell them at 90 ;-) btw. the "are you dumb" remark is sarcasm... if you take it personally, then I cannot help you ;-)

I know a lot of complaining is going on about how long a renter is paid. I rented 2 rigs for 3 hours each just to try this out. Both transactions have 4 confirms and it is over 30 minutes later. Both rigs still say rented awaiting payment. I am willing to bet it is not the renters taking so long to send or btc confirming that is slowing this down. For a 3 hour rental I have already lost over 30 minutes of it.

The time does not start until the payment is confirmed.. so after it is confirmed you should still have your 3 hour rent time

Hello! A quick update to say that I'm still keeping an eye on this transaction, and I'm not forgetting it. If this were to never get confirmed, and if I'm able to be sure 100% that it will never get confirmed, then I would send again the payment. Now, I have never seen a case of bitcoin payment being unconfirmed, so I need to check for the proper way to deal with that, and to be sure it will never get confirmed at some point in the future. Cheers, Mux

is there a way to tell what my scrypt hashrate would be in Kessak? Like a conversion factor? I've never mined anything other than scrypt and have no baseline to compare to. i.e, if I were to use my r9 270 rigs, is 225mhash/s per gpu a reasonable assumption? scratch that.. looks like heli is a scam anyway

It would make sense to test your rig by doing some Keccak mining before you start renting it out. Then, you'll know the answer to your question.

Could total rental time be added under Riq quality? I think it's quality indicator as much important as number of jobs done; average job time may vary between rigs.
