Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

This thread is as dead as Mintcoin.
not trying to be negative cause im believing in the coin, that's why im still on the boat, but the price hasn't stopped falling since...ever?
not seeing a bright future ahead....
haha looks like someone spent some money.. idiot ^^

Looks to me like someone foolishly tried to pump MINT and a bagholder saw it as a golden opportunity to dump their holdings.

Lesson learned: you can't pump a lead balloon.

I had to take a bit of a break from this forum for a while because of posts like these...

Has anyone had a problem after upgrading wallet where it shows all your transactions in the history, but your coin values are way off?

I just upgraded upgraded to 1.8 when I got back in town before trying to track down a missing transaction. It later came in fine after I deleted all files but wallet.dat and re-synced with the new wallet, but my values are now off by more than 50%.  I dumped everything to excel to calculate and checked the block chain.  Everything looks right to my untrained eye, but it is like the wallet is not doing the math.

If this is not the right area for this, let me know and I will post there.

Thanks in advance and a finders fee for anyone solving this, in Mint of course!

Here are the addresses I use:

One thing I wonder about is if the FBI or people at Fincen.gov are monitoring these boards and markets. I'm pretty sure they are and will be interesting to see what the future brings. I myself will welcome regulation

Regulation? You better get out of Crypto if you want regulation to a decentralized technology.

Is the total amount reported by the wallet incorrect, or when you dump transactions? I checked your addresses from blockchain explorer, you should have 10,468,458 MINT (plus some remainders)

Open debug window, type "getbalance". That should be same with what wallet reports on main window.

From the same window, type "checkwallet". If it reports any missing/extra funds, type "repairwallet". These should fix it. (Get a backup of wallet.dat before "repairwallet" just in case)

Thank you!  I followed your instructions and it worked perfectly!!  Here is the output:

10:29:47

{
"mismatched spent coins" : 130,
"amount in question" : 6407839.77909400
}

10:30:15

repairwallet

10:30:25

{
"mismatched spent coins" : 130,
"amount affected by repair" : 6407839.77909400
}
Your mint reward is on the way. 100K Smiley  Update: as soon as it finishes syncing

P.S. I don't know if you noticed on Mj33dHeh6WnQxMWcsHEs9Cz6KBGFSgZJ46  Mintpal put the coins in and seemingly took them back on the same block on 2 occasions, but they seem to have stuck in my wallet.  Strange.

These are good examples of why I'm not going to continue posting on bitcointalk. Checking on these boards and trying to guess what you should do with your money on a day to day basis is not healthy. Lots of misinformation and manipulation is an ongoing result of this mindset. Real world adoption of cryptos is not going to be a result of who assembled the biggest gang of trolls and liars on this forum. I'm confident enough in my choices to look away from daily prices and sentiment for an extended period of time.

Will keep track of positive community developments elsewhere, looking forward to continuing the conversation with many of you though, and following the progress of this coin in other places, best of luck.

Regards,

William Harper AKA Dragonseer

actually i wasn't trying to be a troll....since i could just say...this coin is doomed! the price has been plummeting since its been launched!!! sell everything!!! Titanic!!!

I still have about 500k that i mined in beginning and thinking i should have sold at 40 satoshis and re bought now...
What pains me is that price hasnt been going up, not even very slowly!!!!! its been crap showing that even with merchants a good coin system it can mean shit.

That said...have a good time.

great!

I'm not sure which transactions you're referring to; but those might be just your coins staking. When generating a stake, you send your coins to the same address; so you will see both a spend and a receive on the same transaction/block. The received amount will be a little higher than what is sent, that's your interest.

Hey guys, I read the last few pages but I don't see any update on what happened with mintbay. Did they really change the name to "blkroad" intentionally?? Doesn't that seem like a bad idea given the whole "silk road" scandal?

Maybe he decided to stay off the forums after the community started hating on the website.  I wouldn't blame him since this community is so hostile.

It is only people like you, who continually come here with only negative and antagonizing things to say that make the community look hostile in response.

Geode you just said you wanted to "get rid of Mintcoin" on the BC thread, and look here you are now advertising for BC on the Mint thread. Thanks for coming here and serving as yet another great example of what the two posts behind yours touch on!

Buying strategy:
Reserve a part of your trading benefits (any other coins) to buy some mintcoins. Selling mintcoin will not work 1) because of the low traffic 2) because you would lose your interest.

This is what I do: a part of my benefit (for instance in Fluttercoin, KarmaCoin at the moment and not so long ago Grumpycoin - I doubled my investement with Grumpy) go to mintcoin.

Monero: the first crytocurrency to bring bank secrecy and net neutrality to the blockchain.HyperStake: pushing the limits of staking.

Mint's good, but we should consider selling some Mint off and buying some Blackcoin, you know, for the sake of diversification. Diversification spreads the risk around. Just in case Mintcoin loses traction and drops to 1 satoshi, you can fall back on Blackcoin. Then sell some Blackcoin and buy Mintcoin when Mintcoin is cheap, at 1-2 satoshis.

please just leave us alone!! this is my last post to trolls no more food for yous after this, most people know bc and most altcoins are being manipulated on the market, if you can make some money off the manipulation then go ahead and do it, but don't trick people into buying a coin that will fail in a couple more weeks, ive noticed mint isn't the only coin your trying to destroy you bc people are all the same, im kinda glad bc exist cos it takes out all of the bad people and puts them in one community instead of ours, yous must be realizing that your coin is being manipulated cos yous are coming to mint and trying to convert our people but just stop ok it wont work, i wish we could coexist and help each other out but the will probably never happen.

You're absolutely right. Diversification is very important, that's why I sold my blackcoins and put them into Ultracoin. Of course I already hold a fair amount of Mint. But for people looking to diversify, I think it's a really good time to get out of blackcoin and put their money into a more developed coin. The multipool for blackcoin has dried up, so there's nothing really left to drive up the price.  Angry

If people have yet to buy Mint, I highly suggest doing so. Did you see the new wallet? It actually tells you how long until your next reward, and allows you the option of unlocking the wallet for minting only, thus keeping your coins secure. Really great stuff:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ys3qsvu18lv10vc/MintCoin.zip

And remember, Mintcoin is the only pure Proof of Stake coin listed on https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/

For people that don't know, VaultofSatoshi is a highly regulated Canadian exchange which is important in an increasing regulated cryptocurrency environment.
