I can access the website but my miners have been unable to connect since last night.

Are you still unable to connect?  What server are you trying to connect to?

EDIT/UPDATE:  Looks like the merged mining server lost its setting for open file limits.  Didn't catch it before going to bed because so few people were connected due to DNS switching at first.  Should be good now.

btcguild.gigaforge.com:8332  Problems communicating with Bitcoin RPC

been this way for about 19 hours now after all of my miners successfully completed millions of shares using the same .bat file. no changes were made, just broke all of a sudden

Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

I'll push updates to those old DNS entries.  The private DNS has been pointed to public getwork servers for months after Stratum took over the pool.

I guess its already been asked, but didn't see while glancing. Was wondering if you had any intentions of having merged mining with stratum so we can pplns/MM?

I have no plans to look into adding merged mining in Stratum (it would require significant rewrites to my pool server code/coinbase generation).  The getwork merged mining will likely stick around the longest of all getwork servers, but will be the only server offering merged mining with BTC Guild.

I may (this is not a guarantee), eventually add a pplns-mergedmining server.  It will not reflect website worker settings (getwork doesn't interface with the frontend like stratum does), but would simply credit all shares submitted on that server as PPLNS.

Just wondering, are you going to work on a litecoin mining option? I saw a poll for it a bit ago...

Litecoin adoption has been suspended for now.  Given the amount of DDoS activity BTC Guild already receives, adding Litecoin is just another reason for botnets to attack.  Litecoin is already seeing a surge in botnet activity.  As BTC difficulty shoots up, Litecoin is going to be completely dominated by botnets due to being "CPU friendly".  The relative power of CPU vs GPU on Litecoin is very favorable to botnets.

Ok, that's fine. I have noticed that DDoS attacks have become much, much more common. Don't work yourself too hard.

Please resend the email or PM me on the forums.  Emails are normally replied to within a few minutes unless I'm asleep or there is something distracting me (hard fork, server upgrading, DDoS attacks, etc.).

*sigh* People need to move to Stratum, The Stratum part of BTCGuild has been working just fine for a Long time
The Getwork side of the pool frequently gets attacked via DDoS because its a Peice (approx 9-14%) of the pools hashrate, People dont want to see a massive pool because it might reach 51%, But they dont want to "down" what is perhaps the best mining pool.
DDoS'ers just dont want it to be so close to 51%, So they attack the Getwork that Botnets/Old Workers use

Oh, On a compleatly unrealted note, Hooah!, Battlefield is leading the poll!

Oh, On a compleatly unrealted note, Hooah!, Battlefield is leading the poll!

I'm quite surprised that an FPS hit the top, but I should've known that a lot of people with the high end GPUs needed for mining were FPS nuts Smiley.  I'm going to look into a lot of server options this coming week if everything stays stable.  I'm probably going to throw a public Minecraft server up this weekend just for fun though.  I have a dual SSD (RAID-1) server with plenty of RAM/CPU to spare, so it'd be a great Minecraft server.

BF3 will probably be the next game to get a BTC Guild server thrown online, and I'll look into posting some "official" times for people to try to log in for larger games.

BF3 and Minecraft will mostly be the "fun" games provided for the pool (and anybody else).  StarCraft 2 will likely be the competitive game where prizes are given out and a ladder gets formed.

Yay a Minecraft server! That would be really fun to play on. Let me know if you need a moderator for the server or something, I used to be a server owner myself.

Seems my payout is not going? Hit payout, then I went to the payout page and hit link, and the blockchain.info says it is not a transaction. (April 1st 2013)

Never had this delay that is why I ask.

I sent money from my account to myself during this block I guess. I guess of all I have read I never saw this.

It looks like its fixed now.

Orhpaned blocks get "undone" and the transactions contained get picked up again. The only ones who loose are the miners who mined the block.

BTC Guild payments are standard transactions, with standard (satoshi client) fees attached.  They should always be rebroadcasted over the network so if a block with those payments is orphaned, it is not a big deal.  They are not like some pools where the payouts are setup in a way that standard clients will refuse to forward the transaction due to insufficient fees, nor are they paid directly from the block.

Some fine tuning done to the website over the last few hours.  Sorry for the long load times during the transition, and the temporary (~5 minute) outage just before this post.  Everything seems to have transitioned over now.  This was all work being done on the frontend, and had no effect on mining servers.
