In preparation for the next difficulty adjustment, shifts were increased again to 15 million shares/shift.  This means that after the next adjustment, an average shift should solve roughly 2 blocks.  This is why recent shifts have had more blocks but lower per shift rates:  Shifts now require 50% more blocks to reach the same payout, but they also have 50% more shares involved.  This should mean the variance per shift is lowered again, while still keeping shifts maturing after about 8 hours.  These changes to not have any impact on 24-hour variance for full time miners.

BAMT does not natively support it, but you can upgrade the cgminer in it to the latest, or if you are not that adventurous, just run a Stratum Proxy. https://github.com/slush0/stratum-mining-proxy

You can turn namecoin balance on in the settings menu.  Details stats for namecoins are no longer shown, but your balance will accumulate at the standard 5% PPS rate for all accepted NMC shares, as long as you're mining on mergedmining.btcguild.com:8332 .

Hi Guys

So your miner is showing up on the dashboard, but it's just not showing any shares submitted under Active Worker Summary? What are you mining with hardware wise? (total MH/s) What mining software?

Hi it's just an hd5850 around 340 mhash/s and GUIminer. I tried connecting to the german server from guiminer dropdown box and software was reporting shares but none showed up in dashboard.

Thanks

Hi Guys

My Shares aren't showing up in the dashboard. According to the miner all is well.

A lot of people come into IRC with a question like this.  It is ALWAYS one of the following:

1) Your miner is extremely slow (<10 MH/s), which means it will take you quite some time for shares to submit.
2) You have a driver conflict and your miner is spitting out hardware errors without any valid shares.
3) You are running cgminer with scrypt on so all your shares are invalid because its set to Litecoin mode.

More information is needed.  IRC is the best way to solve mining configuration because of real-time communication.

EDIT:  Your previous post wasn't therewhen I typed this.  It sounds like #2.  First step would be to download GUI Miner from BTC Guild's support page if you haven't already.  It is the most current version, and also fixes the server list to have the correct BTC Guild servers listed.

Thanks man I'll reinstall it. It is working again at the moment on BTCGuild (any) but I'll reinstall to make sure I'm up to date

Some payouts are taking much longer than normal to confirm due to the heavily increased withdrawal activity as accounts which haven't been active since 2011 are returning to pull out coins.  I've pushed more coins into the hot wallet to hopefully assist throughout the week.

UPDATE:  I've paused new payouts for the next hour (roughly) to give current inputs time to gain confirmations, and let the refill transactions get confirmed.  If I didn't pause withdrawals, odds are you'd still be waiting 1+ hours for a confirmation, so this really doesn't change much other than removing that bad feeling of a payment being in limbo for a while.  I've also been manually pushing sendrawtx commands to the various bitcoind clients I have available to try to achieve a better network propagation for payouts currently waiting for confirmations.

AHAH!   After hours of painstaking research and trolling post after post I have come to the following conclusion.

Eleuthria is an Alien!!!

Their time traveling antics have been unmasked at last!

Proof!

This first came to my attention a week or so ago when I noticed a discrepancy on the guild news page. Now a week later we have had it happen again!  THERE CAN BE NO OTHER ANSWER.

Hot Wallet/Payout Update:

Automatic payouts will become available again at 20:00 UTC.  Manual payouts will remain paused for an extra 4 hours, since those eat up the most confirmed coins (due to eating up an input then spitting the rest out as a 0-confirm output).  Hopefully after everything is turned back on the confirmation times will be back to normal.

UPDATE: Automatic payouts are enabled again and will process at 20:58 UTC.  Manual payouts still frozen until the backlog clears up.

Slowly eating through the payment backlog at the moment.  It's mostly stuck due to a few transactions where the outputs were used to fund another payout, so you have a long chain of transactions that rely on another one being confirmed.

Hopefully it will be caught up in the next hour so manual payments can be reactivated.

Manual payouts are now available again - All pending payouts have already received confirmations so the backlog is cleared as well.

As of this morning, despite being set for PPLNS all my shares are going to PPS. I've tried changing method back and forth, creating new workers. Still can't get off PPS and back to PPLNS.

Any workaround recommendations or known issue?

You need to use Stratum for PPLNS on BTC Guild.
