Yep. Glad I did my buying over the past few days. Bought around 45K earlier today at a much more reasonable price. Could make a nice profit right now, but I'm in it for the long haul on this one. No selling! Only 20 16 bonus blocks left! People really digging after those last few blocks. Hash rate now up over 700 MH/s!

The OctoFlag is lowered just below half-staff as block rewards drop from 188 to 88. The OctoBugler stands at attention and softly plays taps as the era of OctoCoin 188 blocks comes to an end.

Definitely a bummer. All good things come to an end! I would have mined more 888 but for the bulk of the launch I had all of my mining power dedicated to my own coin. I've managed to pick up quite a few on Bittrex over the past month or so and mined my fair share as well. The new difficulty formula is great but I certainly miss those cheap Octos getting dumped by the multipools.

so who got the last block? It wasn't Fusionhash or Fedaykin... 8YVgPN7xnZCnrvu4jUbDwcypSwn549QWrg is the address of the finder. Fusionhash has gotten the first six blocks since then. Maybe the multipools will go away now.

This is ridiculous. Block reward just dropped by more than 50% and the network speed is rising? Also, why don't we get 888 listed on Cryptsy? I can contact BigVern. Too tough to buy on Bittrex without jacking up the price.

The devs prefer Mintpal as the next target exchange, for now. May have something to do with gaming... Mintpal being based in the UK may help with some regulatory issues. Not really sure. The devs haven't given any reason for the preference on here, yet.

88 coin blocks, and the hash is still >700MH!!! ahahahHAHAAHAHAH
this is the beginning, of the middle xD
also, i don't think that being listed on cryptsy would be the end of the world, i've just had 3 bad experiences with them regarding liquidity. whenever i want to withdraw my coins, they're never there, and no one ever knows why... pretty sure they work as a fractional reserve, but good luck ever getting any evidence to prove that.
All i know is the dev's plans include the need for high liquidity for their "master plan" to unfold, and frankly, after waiting upwards of a week with coins stuck in "pending" and support not having any idea why, i wouldn't advise any investor trade there at cryptsy. the only way to get my coins out was to trade them for BTC, which i could get out. funny how at the time, i was getting about %50-70 of what i'd be getting at any other exchange trading those coins at the time.
but who cares about all of that, these are issues that will sort themselves out, we're very close (top 0.3%) to being listed on mintpal, and bittrex is working just fine (is actually looking nicer and nicer if you've noticed the updates), even if the volume is low. getting listed on cryptsy (or mintpal for that matter) is no guarantee of higher volume coming out of thin air, it will probably raise a little, but nothing like what will happen once the services start rolling out.

True. My issue is that I'm trying to acquire more coins; when I put a large buy order out at Bittrex, even if it's at the top of the book, it just gets buried in a stack of buy orders. Also, there aren't enough sell orders out there to buy a decent quantity without driving the price sky high. OctoCoin is the only thing I trade for at Bittrex but it's time consuming to layer a bunch of small buy orders out there and monitor them. I have a few medium buy orders I put out a week ago that were right on top of the list and they're still sitting there so far down they're well out of sight. Perhaps it's more an issue of nobody wanting to sell than the exchange itself but I was just throwing the suggestion out there as I could probably get 888 added to Cryptsy. We are working with FusionHash on their new exchange and OctoCoin is one of only 8 coins they are working with right now. However, this thing is a completely new approach to altcoin trading and we won't even see a public beta for several months. Also, my project involving OctoCoin is under development; I have no ETA at this time but I will say nothing like it exists (that I'm aware of) and I am very picky when I choose which projects and which coins I associate with - OctoCoin will be one of a select few. People see Octo and instantly fall in love with it - it has the branding "it" factor and allure very few altcoins possess.

i don't think there is anything wrong with getting on cryptsy. the only times i ever have issues with them they always resolve them. not saying there are not issues but if you've ever dealt with exchanges where they don't resolve issues you'll understand. bter...... for instance. now that's an exchange i'll never do biz with again.

Did you just copy and paste message #2 from over 3 months ago? Lol why? This is a technical mistake of the forum i think. A bit strange. This happens sometimes. Not the first time i'm seeing this. Haha, I knew I had seen that message before, so I went hunting. Strange it was from a different poster. Oh well The real question is do we see 1000 today? And if we do.....will this be the last time for triple digits??
