Long-time 888 thread stalker (from launch) who signed up to BCT, mainly, to keep a better eye on this and a couple of other coin project threads. I am in Oklahoma: 45 minutes south of Tulsa, 1.5 hours east of OKC, 3 hours north of Dallas, TX and 1.5 hours west of Fort Smith, AR. Yes it is the center of the universe!  Tongue

I haven't been active, as far as posting, but I pay close attention to this forum and get updates from Frame. Also, Shellbunner, you're my hashing hero. With the exception of mining WhiteCoin, I've been rocking it on Fusionhash with you for awhile. Anyway, just wanted to say hi dude. I'll keep happily looking at your hashing power from spot 2 or 3. haha, Happy mining everyone!!!

I wish I had a 100MH farm.

Jeez... how expensive is it to rent that much hash though?

Depends on the day really. Rates fluctuate, and renting 1 big rig instead on a bunch of small ones is slightly more expensive. For the 77MH rig I usually rent, it's about .5 BTC a day. I get a few free hours out of it, but it is expensive to rent for sure. I'd rather buy than mine, but no one will dump their 888. It must be good or something?!  Wink

Back to my favorite crypto from a little 2 week Asiacoin venture!

It's nice to see we are doing ok. Now, back to mining Octo.. This is our little secret, let's keep it this way a little bit longer so we can all stack up! I honestly think we have a really good crypto in the making...slooowly but steadily...

Whew, I'm back. Moving sucked. After I got my computer stuff broken down and I pulled out my tower, I really took a good look in it and realized how nasty it is inside. My god, as a computer enthusiast, I should be ashamed of myself. My ex wife used to chain smoke like crazy right by my desk, all that tar made it easy for dirt to stick to everything inside. Took me 5 hours last night to completely dismantle it, clean each part including the motherboard by hand. The front intake fan behind the panel, that cools the hard drives, was so caked with dirt it couldn't even spin. Texas, ugh. I managed to rig up an extra fan to the damaged heatsink, though, and it's running much, much cooler. I had a decent ATX case I was going to transplant the guts into but apparently someone helped themself to it and a bunch of other stuff I had stored in my mom's garage. My current case is a bit disfigured due to my ex's temper tantrums, duct tape doesn't make it look more sophisticated, either :b

Anyway, was up all night fixing the computer, and fixing various stuff in the new house. Went to bed about 8AM, just in time for the plumber to knock on the door. They've been in and out all day making plenty of noise but we have a new hot water heater and running water that isn't brown. As they were leaving, the cable guy showed up, ran me a brand new line from the pole in the alley to my bedroom so the connection is better than perfect. The package shellbunner sent me will be showing up at any time today, so I'm excited, but I'm so sleepy I can't think straight. After I get a little bit of rest there's a lot more work to be done towards getting my repertoire of gaming/gambling stuff ready for you guys. Dice has been the worst luck so far, working with a few broken/incomplete/exploited scripts, found another one that I think is functional but I haven't figured out how to run it yet, I have no experience with laravel and composer, been waiting on devs to answer some questions for me. Also, I think I've got 2 different slot machine scripts/apps, some broken video poker games, but some other stuff that shows real promise, one is the source code from the old luckco.in cards site, and another game that is supposed to be ready to go, fun and fair, and players are able to invest (I don't know exactly what the game is, will find out soon). So, got a ton on my plate and I have an extremely hard time concentrating on one project at a time. Since I'm still basically a student developer, I just don't have the ability yet to write up my own game from scratch, cannot afford to pay for fancy, expensive casino scripts, and with all the different development methods available, fixing/patching/completing all these various game projects collecting dust on github is extremely difficult. I've wanted to focus on learning PHP and C but I find I'm having to learn a bit of everything. Who knows, maybe someday I'll write up a game using LiveCode, such an easy and powerful programming language, based on HyperCard. Any old school Mac guys will recognize that. I remember spending an entire summer when I was maybe 12-13 years old writing extremely stupid programs in Hypercard, from "choose your own adventure" (and die no matter what you do) story games, to a program that calculates exactly how much of a pervert and loser you are. Good times.

Anyway, not to steal the 888 dev's thunder, but ol' Edric is going to be your go-to non-big-business gambling guy. An exchange is definitely a possibility for the future as well, I've been looking at software for it but the features I have in mind will need some difficult mods.

Glad the pool didn't break down while I was moving, but the hashrate is way lower than I expected. 367MH net hashrate, and we're only 30, that makes me sad Sad

Trying to think of a good promotion to do to bring some traffic back. Any ideas?

I thought the bonus blocks were already done, every time I looked at the pool's block history, I only saw 88's, but apparently we did get a bonus block today. I don't even remember what the cutoff for that is. Either the bonus block frequency has gone way down, or the pool is just having bad luck, because we used to get several bonus blocks a day.

I would like to point out, since this has never came up, that I have my pool's software set up to pass the bonus along to the users, as well as any transaction fees that may be attached to blocks, as well.

I love how we have moved 2 places above FlappyCoin since yesterday!  Smiley

Also, has anyone paid for a vote on MintPal yet? I'd be willing to give a little if we could all rally and have OctoCoin make a major move toward the top.
