Thanks bholzer, and speaking of SXSW, did they actual push the start button while in zero G and where is the video, I have been trying to look for it, Thanks much again.

It seems out of character for the two individuals I met... but supposedly that was the plan. When I met them, it was the day before "888 launch day" - there was ZERO-G stuff all over Austin. It's possible one of the devs works for ZERO-G and they were doing some type of joint marketing effort (otherwise, I fail to see the point).

http://sxsw.com/interactive/news/2014/sxsw-interactive-loves-space-enjoy-zero-g-experience-saturday-march-8

Even crazier is that I had no idea Neil deGrasse Tyson was at SXSW - first, I miss Bill Murray walking into Shangri-La with 2/3 of Wu-Tang Clan and bartending during SXSW 2010 (Apparently no matter what drink a person ordered, Murray would hand them a tequila shot); I won the "King of the Apps" award for my startup in 2011; in 2012 I was so exhausted (and, full disclosure, intoxicated) that I don't even remember being there; 2013 was all business; in 2014 I miss Neil deGrasse Tyson (and didn't even realize he was there!) - I need to make SXSW 2015 count. Always a blast, though - if you've never been, I'd highly recommend it.

SXSW is always a blast and my memory is always somewhat fuzzy after the late nights and (too many) adult beverages. Austin is a great place to visit most anytime and SXSW just makes it that much more. When in Austin visit Anderson Mill Tavern if you want a friendly neighborhood bar. Rent a boat (or barge) and cruise Lake Travis. Plenty of good music bars and, if you're into it, strip clubs.

It wouldn't be a complete welcome without me saying hi, now would it?

Welcome Jay, I hope you enjoy your stay with Octo and I am sure we will see a big payoff in the long term.

You have the latest version [1.8] of the OctoCoin client? If not, make sure you download it - there was a hardfork recently. If you already have the 1.8 client, you may need to open the wallet with the "-reindex" option. Not sure if your last sentence was a typo or not - you do have network communication? This is the first wallet issue I've seen but this is a solid group here - we'll make sure you're up and running quick.

i'd go with the reindex and wallet version check too, should work fine, the nodes seem to be insanely quick if anyone else has noticed. I have about 20 wallets on my computer that i try to keep in sync, and octo always flys through those blocks in a flash. perhaps the relatively low transaction rate keeps the block sizes down? i'd just as well imagine a magical space octopus who uses his tentacly appendages to create magic internet money at the speed of light.

I created some new images over the past few days. I've also updated the OctoCoin banners/buttons download page where it looks better.

View OctoImages Link

Here are a few samples of what I've been working on:

The download link for Octotips is also on the page, as well as the Vote 888 video.

I've had a sinus infection for the past few days... What better to do, when you're under the weather, than to sit around and create OctoImages and write code...  Tongue
