I have installed Armbian with the newest kernel. Unfortunately the network card does not work there with OrangePi Pc, but its ok with usb network adapter. All the dependencies and Cgminer are working correctly. Here is the link for Armbian newest version I'm using: https://www.armbian.com/orange-pi-plus-2e/#kernels-archiveBut you will need usb > lan or wifi adapter. Anyone could advice me, how to make cgminer to start after boot and always run in the ubuntu?

I got my Pi 4 up and running last night after getting a new microSD card and copying the new software to it.
My batch one R606 is stable at 725Mhz on power level 6 getting 956Ghs. My batch 2 unit is at 750Mhz on power level 5 hashing at 1.005Ths.
This about the same performance I was getting with my laptop running Ubuntu 18.04. So the Pi 4 seems like a great way to go. If your a newbie to Pi's I would recommend getting a kit with a preloaded SD card and case with a fan.

How much power does the R606 take?

I just started using a Pi 4. On the Pi 3 the best they would do was between 1.6 and 1.7 Ths, but at 160 watts. I was able to get 2Ths on my gaming laptop running Ubuntu 18.04. What your using for the controller seems to make a big difference.

are you manually setting the mhz. I let it auto tune they both got to 550mhz. That is on setting 6. Using Pi 4 with 4GB.

I'm not sure what you mean by "manually setting the mhz"? I use the command line option "--gekko-r606-freq 750" to set the frequency. My batch 2 unit is capable of 750 Mhz on power level 5 and my batch one unit autotunes to 725Mhz or so power level 6.

Like os2sam said, I do the same, set to 700 or 750 and the program will detune the freq if needed. I have mine set on volt 4 at 625 Mhz. I originally tested on volt 6 at 750 and it ran stable without issue. I've since reduced the voltage and lowered the freq to 625 Mhz and it's getting an average of 835.1 Gh/s on one r606.

i run 6 newpac's on GS hub @650 Mhz (autotune, so some are bit lower) no problem at all. I think u are having a power problem, try a more heavier PS with at least 10A you should run a R306 per port, dont stack em on a hub or you will get a bottleneck, but maybe when u use an GS hub you can stack As far as i can see your MB should be ok, when running linux on it you should be even more ok Limiting factors: as far as i know usb-port, but you got a lot of them, so that should be ok
What voltage settings are you running? Do I need to up vcore to go over 200mhz 4 Newpacs, powered hub with a single cooling artic breeze fan.

How do I get the R606 to run beyond 550 mhz? Even though I specify a target frequency of 600 mhz it refuses to go past 550 mhz. I have a 120 watt power supply so that is definitely not the issue.

Show us your command line. What are you using for a controller? What power level are you using?

My command line is: cgminer --gekko-r606-freq 600 I am using a MacBook running Mac OS 10.13 as the controller. The power supply is 120 watts. 12V 10A. I am currently getting a stable 740 Gh/s mining on slush.

Why is it that T = 550 I can't seem to get it past 550.
What can be done I have it on 6 and tried the manual 600mhz it does not do it.
I am using a server power supply with breakout board that is on 220v. My controller is Pi 4.
Thanks

I’m using a cheap windows 10 notebook and was having issues too. I plugged the r606 directly to my notebook and my WiFi/Bluetooth would shut off lol. Bought a gekko usb hub and problems solved.
Also, I tested a notebook cooler on the spare usb (notebook) and my hash went from 1ths to 300ghs. Plugged the cooler to the gekko science hub and it’s back to 1ths. The usb hub solved all my issues.

When I was using my Win7 desktop and then laptop my performance was very poor. So, I would recommend trying on a PC running Ubuntu 18.04 to verify proper operation. I have no idea what unknown variables MACos brings to the table. I also have Ubuntu 18.04 on my laptop and they ran perfectly on that OS. Why is it that T = 550 I can't seem to get it past 550...
On your Pi 4 are you plugging your miner into the USB 3.0 Ports or 2.0 Ports? Are you plugging directly into the Pi 4 or are you using a Hub? Do you have other USB devices plugged in? I'm plugging my R606's directly into the USB 2.0 Ports. Also my Pi 4 won't boot when the miners are plugged in so I have to boot it then plug in the miners. I don't get a warm fuzzy feeling about that, but I just discovered that behavior. Edit: I just did a test with the USB 3.0 ports and got about the same performance as the 2.0. The unit that previously tuned to 725Mhz did 718Mzh this time but the one running 750 is still doing 750.

USB3 ports. I have to shut down the units for PI4 to reboot also.
funny how that works when they are connected to PI4.

Hey All, After reading this forum I was very excited about getting my newpacs up and running. Was also very appreciative about the process based on the feedback. I was able to get all my miners (4 newpacs) up and running on windows 10 without a problem. The walk thrus were great and most of the questions I had were answered with the information on this forum. I am currently working on up the frequency on my miners, am up to 325mhz on all four. I have seen people running them as high as 600mhz. I have 2 artic breeze fans and a good powered hub. What would be a reasonable expectation (chip variance aside) for upper frequency limits without having to do any voltage adjustment??? Set up below 4 * newpac 2* artic breeze fans Win10 pc, older i5 BrovSS- 10 Ports USB 2.0 Hub Aluminum - USB Charging Splitter Hub LEDs with 12V 10A 120W Power Adapter

You won’t do 600mhz. I have that hub it limits current to under 2 or 3 amps a port. I got sidehacks hub it allows more . I had issues at 425 and up on the hub you have. I do 500mhz on sidehacks hub.

I don't plan on pushing it to 600mhz, but if I can get 400mhz I will be happy. Currently push about 70gh/s average per miner
