I think I'll never be able to write the clues in a way where it won't eventually be found in a google search. *damn you google!*

Having said that, we try to write the clues in a way where we keep adding to the information, but also trying not to make it too obvious to figure out by a google search.

I do kind of like this though - world/trivia knowledge and good google search ability are two separate and legitimate skills.

I think whoever can solve it first with whatever skills they bring to the table are the legitimate winner.

What do you guys think?

Hey guys,

On to a different topic - Heavycoin logo.

For full information about what's happening with the logo, see this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=513878.msg6763239#msg6763239

So I had a designer play with one of the logos - polish and play with the colours/proportions of the shape.

Here is what we have:

What do you guys think - do you like this?

Cheers,

So... What are we going to build? Anyone have any ideas? I mean a few guys running around in the Ann thread is great and all, but I think we'll need to do more than a $20 trivia giveaway to revive this coin.

I saw that gpools wanted anon, and I'm all for that, but IDK if Kekkak is open to that kind of code modifications. Anything else we could do? Someone want to strike a deal with an African payment system? Smiley

We could make it the official coin of the "Royal Nigerian Prince's Family".

If they had a good alt coin or two maybe they wouldn't need us to send as many funds Western Union to them.  Grin

+1 all day man - great question.

As far as our plans are concerned, our BIG problem right now is that we need to update the logo - there are a bunch of things that are holding us back until we make a decision on the design.

Please let me know what everyone thinks of the logo I posted further up the page - I need to get some sort of indication from you guys whether you think this design is good enough to run with or not.

If anyone would like to play around with the Illustrator file for the logo, PM me and I'll send it to you.

Back to Wenzel's question - are there features anyone would like to see in the coin? I don't think you need to dismiss the opinion of adding anon to the coin - if this is something we all think we'd like to see, we can put it in front of Keccak at least - anything else people would like to see?

If anyone has a project they're interested in doing using Heavycoin, by all means let the forum know, we might be able to connect some people to work together on it as a side project.

From my side, some developments:

- If you haven't seen it, AllCrypt.com added Heavycoin to their exchange today - Very pleasant people and were easy to work with.

- I'm working on a promo page tab for the Heavycoin Facebook page, but I'm still a way off - I could use some design/layout help for a few pages of the app I'm building, if anyone is interested in helping out PM me

- After Facebook, I'm personally interested in figuring out a paper wallet web app - if anyone has any experience in generating paper wallet addresses and would like to work on it together let me know - I'm 100% n00b in this area, but interested to understand what would be involved in doing this.

I hope you all have a great day folks.

Cheers,
M

I like it, and disagree with the assessment that it could be 'more 3D'... current design trends is to go flatter ( whether I actually like it or not Wink )

Thanks for the prize and competition, mumbly. It was somewhat mysterious, just like the identity of Satoshi when one first discovers Bitcoin Smiley On day three, just enough "web-searchable" key facts were given, and I was lucky to be passing by the thread sooner than the other person that also gathered the answer on day three.

These facts are just like parts of a composite key in a database. At some point it starts to point to an unique entity in a "dataspace".

http://heavycoin.github.io/about.html

STILL says 56 days for Limit phase.

Why oh why is this still not fixed?
Is it supposed to increase confidence in the coin if obvious mistakes about the fundamentals are misstated on the main page and after their discovery are still not fixed days later?  Huh

Hey p1nky,

Bare with me buddy. To be completely honest, I'm a little frustrated tonight, but it's not pointed in your direction, just the thread mood in general.

Firstly, I'm not going to pretend that the update to the site isn't a very minor change, it is - from the outside I can see how it would look like there may be a lack of attention being paid to the coin.

So I'm going to go in to a little detail about what's happening, and how we want and need the community to express their interest in helping with whatever project they find interesting.

The coin dev team are currently working on releasing version 1.3 of the wallet, I need this so I can make an announcement about a new partner for Heavycoin. I'm not big on telling you guys "Big news coming soon", I'd rather get all my ducks in a row and tell you guys what's happening as it's finished, rather than vague promises of good news in the near future.

From my perspective, the guys are doing exactly what is in the best interest of the coin at the moment, and for my selfish self, allowing me to introduce you guys to something I've been working on in the background for a few weeks and probably my first big contribution since I've been invited to step up.

Even speaking like this probably insinuates bigger buzz then the end result will seem, I've just met some cool people on the internet, they have a fun service and I've convinced them to give this coin a try, I need version 1.3 released before it should be announced.

On the website front, as I've done in the past, I put my hand up to the coin devs to ask if I can help make this change to save them time. We need to figure out a process where I can contribute updates to the site in a way where I can't break everything at the same time - this is the bottleneck we are trying to figure out right now.

In other news, I petitioned allcrypt.com to accept Heavycoin this week and two days ago we were added to their exchange - a small bit of work, but something any member of the community could decide to do if they chose to. If someone found an exchange but needed some community support, they could of course post their project here and I for one would offer my time to help.

Where I'm most frustrated, and please excuse me, I've spent my day off today continuing work on the Facebook promotion I'm working on. I've just spent eight hours working on it, then I thought I should probably check the thread before signing off, and the posts just make me feel like I'm the only one trying to build something for this coin. I know this isn't the case, but I'm at a loss to figure out what's missing.

If anyone is still reading this - can I ask you an honest question? Are you a speculator or are you interested in seeing this coin succeed? If you're a speculator that's cool, I'm speculating on other coins I don't put any effort in to. But if you would like to help with this project, here are some things you could decide to do:

- Tell me you're interested, but not sure how you could be helpful, either here or via PM

- Take a look at the logo I posted further up the page - do you think this is an improvement, is it good enough for now? Would you like to take a swing at a new logo design or improving on the one I've posted - post or PM me, I'm happy to share all of the source files for the design work I paid for

- Like to help out with the Facebook promo - let me know, I work full time, so I can only work on it outside of office hours, any help would be appreciated.

- Like to suggest a new project to advance the coin? post it here or PM me, I'm all ears, and might be able to introduce you to other people who you could collaborate with.

I think we see the common theme here...

Have something you'd like to see done with the coin? post your idea. Like to help with some project? post it here or PM me.

Like to start your own project, but need someone to bounce ideas off of? post it here or PM me, I'm nothing if not verbose Smiley

God, If you're still reading this I'd advise you to consult your doctor... these are my frustrations guys, if you want to help but not sure how you can help, PM me, there's plenty going on.

Cheers,
M
