Once a transaction has 6 confirmations, it is extremely unlikely that an attacker without at least 50% of the network's computation power would be able to reverse it.

Keccak took the IPO money and went to Mali. he is having some fun there  Tongue
And so what? First of all, you could sell it when market price was higher then IPO price. Secondly, no one forced you to invest. If you lost some btc on IPO blame it on yourself.

Only made money on HVC, even while mining and IPO at about 170% investment rate (3400 vs 5900). Some made even more.

Good coin by idea, bad coin by maintenance but I'm not complaining  Grin

I expected to see more of a drop. HVC has held on to its hashrate surprisingly well. Will be interesting to see if that holds...

Looks like more of the people voting low have left, next estimated block reward is currently 587....

Yeah, can't say I'm really seeing evidence of that.  zhpool had a boost, and that boost went away - but probably not to mjollnir Tongue

Hey guys,

Working on a project - I could use some input if you have ideas.

I'm presenting an idea to my board next week for a social experiment - my idea is to create a social experience with crypto using HVC.

It's a 60+ person office and I want to focus more on relative value rather than HCV/BTC/USD.

The idea is all participants receive 100HVC at the beginning of the month and have 30 days to trade value through what ever mechanism they come up with. Prizes for the three largest holders at the end of the project.

So the parts I'm trying to figure out:

- What is the most friction-less way to get these guys comfortable sending and receiving HVC?

- what process do you guys think is easiest for people who are new to crypto/HVC to trade coins?

- Please, Poke holes in the idea - I'll document this if it goes ahead and I'd be more than happy to share my experience if anyone else wants to try doing the same.

Cheers,
M

The only thing going up with HVC is the block reward. Which in turn drives down HVC value and hashrate. At the end of the first phase there will be more coins minted (45 million HVC) than all Mjollnir coins ever (42 million MNR). Maybe that's the goal? More coins might lend itself to a coin for daily use vs. holding like an investment. But no one is discussing it, or anything about HVC really. So the coin won't go anywhere but down, down, down. If TheRealSteve didn't drop by everyday and drop off his excellent charts I doubt this thread would move for days on end.

Sounds like an interesting idea, but what do you mean by "trade value"?

Is this about building adoption?

If you are trying to increase adoption, then we can support your effort with some HVC from the Heavycoin fund.  Just let us know the details.

thankz

Good coin by idea, bad coin by maintenance but I'm not complaining  Grin

Good because Heavycoin has received all the maintenance it has required so far. and we will continue to maintain it.

There have been no bugs and the coin has handled huge swings in difficulty without getting stuck or needed a hard fork.  That's very good for a coin that is not a copy and paste and actually experiments with several new ideas.

For those suggesting the idea that the devs should override the democratic aspect of Heavycoin and taper the block reward, you are going to be very disappointed.  This is not "maintenance" and such development won't be happening because it would go against Heavycoin's democratic principle of having the block reward decided by decentralized block reward voting.

It's entirely sensible for current miners to mine as much as possible before the limit phase, if that's what they have democratically decided.

For all those who want to fork the HEFTY1 cryptographic hash and get the power savings advantages.  We don't mind as that serves as a form of promotion for Heavycoin.

Stay tuned for an upcoming anoucement from our new head of marketing and promotion.

Dear Keccak, where have you been for the last month? Spending IPO earnings on Bali? Or was this silence part of your strategy to bring the price to total bottom, buy the coins cheap and now hyping it up with some "pre-announcement"?  I'm already getting tired of these pre-announcements which we have experienced with other scam coins (WC, Zeta, etc...). Just announce it when it will be actual and list down concrete actions you are going to do and how those actions will be financed. And unfortunately people are so stupid just to start buying coins because something unclear is going to happen. And big bag holders are just waiting to dump all the shit on newbies.

By "maintenance" i think he was refering to support from the dev team.
Writing a post every few days is crucial.
As you said the coin did not have any technical issues and that imo speaks alot in your favor, but either you or someone from the devteam should keep things alive in this post, twitter, etc...

Let's all help out the new head of marketing and promotion and spread the annoucement.

Drum roll please...

So I'm you're new head of marketing and promotion.

Those of you who have participated in the Branding thread know me, and I hope you pop up to say hi. Those of you who don't, I'm a tech guy who works in the advertising world, I hope I can be useful in this new role.

*Straightens tie and sits down to new desk*

Ok, so let's figure out where we are at:

- this thread is not active enough to support community growth, let's change that. I'm probably going to be spamming this thread for the next few weeks but as we find a groove I'll pull it back (and feel free to tell me I'm being a preachy asshole if I'm talking too much)

- We need to grow community. If you would like to participate in a community action, or have a particular skill you would like to add, please feel free to post it here or PM me. If you know any potential community leaders I should be reaching out to - let me know.

- We need to start a constructive conversation - I'm not picking on the "the sky is falling" crowd, or the "HVC to the moon" crowd, but let's take a pulse for where we are at: anyone who wants to say their piece about HVC, where they feel we are at, where we are winning/losing - let's do it over the next few pages and really figure out how the people who are paying attention feel about the project.

- Let's get this whole thing out of my hands as quickly as possible. This is supposed to be a decentralised currency - having a centralised community structure makes no sense. If we are able, let's build the community to a point where I can't affect anything, (but I personally hope I am a respected member of the community).

- social media etc - putting the feelers out - I'm trying to take stock of the assets we have so we can make a plan to use them.

Responses to other members:

@keccak512 - Yeah, I need to explain that a lot better - will do tomorrow

@ZangiefPT - Really, thanks very much for your message man. This is a new and very interesting thing for me, but to be honest, I was most worried I'd be run out of town after my first message - thanks for the support.

@cayars - I owe you a response to our conversation mate - will do tomorrow.

@cryptomines - you are 100% correct dude

@TheRealSteve - thanks for being the hero of this thread man, please PLEASE keep doing what you are doing

The wind is at our back and we can catch it if we want to. Let's decide where we want this to go.

Gentlemen (and, hopefully, Ladies), we can do this if we decide to.

Cheers,
M

Sorry - last thing I should ad:

We are trying desperately to finish up the logo design comp - if you have been contacted as a shortlisted designer - please contact me asap.

We need to wrap this up so we can start other marketing projects.

Cheers,
M
