It is going to be really sad if the trophy actually gets shared. This has been a great tournament so far. Very high scoring and also very interesting. Really wanted to see a good finish to the tournament. GT performed really well to get all those runs. It had to be a great chase from CSK to reach a total of 215.

Mistakes were made by CSK. But anyway, now it does not matter because I don't think the match is going to be played. I wonder if there is another date on which the match can be moved to in search of a single winner of this tournament.

I thought that Gujarat Titans might be the IPL champion this time but the matter has completely turned around and instead of Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings have become champions for the fifth time.
Thirteen runs were needed in the last over by Mohit Sharma but three single runs in three balls including a dot in the first ball boosted Gujarat Titans' chances of victory many times over but after Ravindra Jadeja completed 6 and 4 runs in the fifth and sixth balls respectively, Gujarat Titans' chances of victory ended. It would have been relatively easy for the Chennai Super Kings, but then Mohammed Shami bowled a very tight over and then got the target to 14 from 1 over. In the end, it was left to Mohit Sharma to defend this target. He did a spectacular job in the first 4 balls (conceding just 3 runs). The target was 10 from 2 balls, but then he made a simple mistake and Ravindra Jadeja used this opportunity to smash a six over his head in the 5th ball and then another boundary in the last ball made sure that CSK won the final. For GT it was a lost opportunity, as they managed to hold defeat from the claws of victory.

And after that Dhoni used his wits to harass Gujarat, unable to fall any wickets. And Chennai Super King's batting performed very well as they didn't waste any mistakes for no reason. I think jadeja's performance is the best in the win because I always remember the experienced players when the pressure is on, Jadeja's finishing is the best.

It will be wrong to say that the Gujarat Titans are overdependent on Rashid Khan. Apart from Rashid, had quality bowlers like Mohammad Shami, Josh Little, Noor Ahmed and Mohit Sharma. But it is true that Rashid plays a large part in the middle overs, by lowering the run rate and taking crucial wickets. But yesterday he was out of form and conceded too many runs. Noor Ahmed on the other hand bowled exceptionally and had unbelievable figures of 3-0-17-2. Rashid conceded almost 15 runs per over, which is an extreme rarity, given his career economy rate.

Expectations of millions of fans were fulfilled yesterday. Chennai Super Kings won the title for the fifth time under the leadership of Dhoni. Congratulations to MS Dhoni for winning the 2023 title. But MSD could not finish his last match with batting. Captain Cool got out in the first ball at the crucial time of the team.  

10 runs were required in the last over where Ravindra Jadeja was at the wicket. This equation of ten runs from two balls is very difficult for any batsman. Because one of the two balls must be hit for a six and the other ball must be hit for at least a boundary, this is the equation when this batsman turned the tide of the game by hitting a six on the fifth ball of the over right in front of Jadeja.
Four runs were needed off the last ball. If Mohit Sharma could have made the last ball length then Gujarat Titans might have won the match but in the end Ravindra Jadeja turned all the equation in their favour. CSK brought home the title for the fifth time through great batting in the last over.

But at the same time, all credit to Gujarat Titans for their splendid performance in the group phase. They were the most balanced team in this edition of the IPL.

Ravindra Jadeja is a very experienced all-rounder and using his experience he was able to win this match with so much pressure. CSK team was not so balanced compared to other teams MSD made this team a consistent team. 

MSD contributed the most to this title win. Because his captaincy was extraordinary. Leadership is a very important thing in the game of cricket. If you can lead well, you can expect good things even with a team of less strength.

What a thrilling final match!!

No one expected CSK to win the 5th IPL trophy. The last two overs, I mean the last two balls were so intense. Sir Jadeja again proved why he is such an important player for the Indian team.

When the rain started I had a feeling that GT will easily win the finals. I never ever imagined that Jadeja will snatch that win from the hands of Hardik Pandya.

Sai Sudarshan another a 21 year old batter was the reason GT got those 214 runs. The highest ever target in IPL final history. Sad that his team was not able to capatalize his power hitting and agressive batting.

If not for the rain, perhaps Gujarat would have won the trophy. Chennai had already lost 5 wickets and if they had lost one more then it was down to the tail. The shortening of target helped them to chase it down and it relieved some of the pressure. Well, they had Moeen Ali at no.8, but he has been in terrible form this year. And at no.9 to no.11, they had three genuine tailenders - Deepak Chahar, Tushar Deshpande and Maheesh Theekshana. How difficult was it to break the 6th wicket partnership between Shivam Dube and Ravindra Jadeja?

Sir freaking Jadeja! He didn't disappoint his team even when the fans kept wanting him and others to get out in order to watch MSD play. Am a Dhoni fan myself, but I place the team over any individual player just like MSD.

CSK looked like they would easily win in the 14th over itself, but Shami and Sharma were brilliant until the last 2 balls. CSK and MI are jointly the most successful sides in IPL history(10/16 titles).

Am hoping for the other teams to challenge their domination properly just like GT in the upcoming years.
