Until this series is over, it is impossible to say which team will win the series. However, West Indies cricket team is leading 1-0 over UAE. If West Indies cricket team can win another match against UAE. Then the West Indies cricket team will confirm the series win. On the other hand, for the UAE to win the series, they need to win two consecutive matches against the West Indies. If you enjoy the second match of the ODI series, you will understand the result somewhat

In this series UAE having no chance to win against West Indies because even they are weaker but still capable of beating team like the UAE without any problem as they have done in first ODI West Indian board are trying their best for having something improvement but due to geopolitics things are going from bad to worse which is never been ideal for the game and West Indies recently they bring good new white-ball coach which is having good cricketing heart and experience in white-ball but still many things which need time and work hopefully they will be able to settle these.

Now we have 2 more ODI before West Indies heading for the qualifier for the ODI World Cup which is going to play in India in October, hopefully they will be able to have better results in this event for having their spot into world cup.

The second ODI between United Arab Emirates and West Indies will be played today. I have mixed feeling about this match. There were a few supporters of West Indies present in the stadium during the first ODI, but not a single UAE supporter was present. It was expected, as the "UAE" team doesn't contain any Emiratis. Entire team is comprised of Indian and Pakistani nationals. West Indies agreed to play this ODI series after being promised a huge amount by the Emirates Cricket Board. They will refuse to play against other associates like Nepal and Scotland.

I think that this match will be a tough one because UAE team has lost the first ODI against West Indies and this time they might play more defensive in order to have victory in the match. The West Indies team on the other hand has complete confidence that they're going to win the 2nd ODI against UAE team without much effort and that could create a little bit of arrogance in their attitudes towards the opposite team.

The odds are still in the favor of West Indies team because they have the real players and many of those can easily perform to win the match without much hassle, but it's still going to be a very tough and interesting match between those teams. I'm still thinking that West Indies might perform its best to get another victory against the UAE team, but still at this point predicting the exact result won't be justifiable.

West Indies is using this series as an opportunity to warmup for the ODI World Cup qualifier which is about to start next week. Remember that West Indies failed to qualify using the automatic route, as they finished at the 9th position in 2020–2023 ICC Cricket World Cup Super League. Now 2 slots for the ODI World Cup are available from the qualifier, and it is going to be a tough challenge for West Indies as they are up against strong teams like Sri Lanka, Ireland and Afghanistan. There is a very good chance that West Indies may not qualify for the ODI World Cup later this year.

Afghanistan & Srilanka are somehow similar in ODI format. They have a an unreliable opening pair and an unreliable bowling attact. ~snip~

Sri Lanka was a lot better team in all format a few years ago, but they have become an unpredictable team now. Check the performance of their recent ODI series, they lost some matches by a huge margin and won some matches comfortably. Where Afghanistan has gradually improved their performance. Still, they can't perform well against a strong team. Anyway, I hope Sri Lanka will win the 3rd ODI match comfortably.

South Africa A team won the first match quite easily. But today South Africa's performance was not good. Only 175 runs were able to be collected by the batsmen of the A team of South Africa. It is not possible to win by giving a target of so few runs. As usual, the South African team is going to be defeated. At the end of 28 overs, Sri Lanka A batsmen scored 168 runs losing only 3 wickets. Nishan Madushka remains unbeaten with 102 runs off 81 balls.

It is not that Srilanka has bad players. The problem is that most players come only from Colombo region. The SCB needs to diversify it's search for cricket talent. They needs more option and at the moment they are stuck at one location. I agree the players they had earlier cannot be compared with the present lot.

Meanwhile it will be a big shame if Srilanka lost an ODI series on its homeground that to against Afghanistan. Afganistan is still a weaker side than Srilanka. In the last match we did saw how Srilankan batters played against Afghan bowler. If they can repat the same performance tomorrow then they will surely win the series.
