Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat. So far they have collected 103 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in 25.4 overs. They are very under pressure now. They now have to hold on to wickets or they may be all out before 200 runs. Angelo Mathews and Kushal Mendis were dismissed for no runs.

Sri Lanka's chances of scoring 200 runs are very slim. Sri Lanka managed to collect 144 runs after losing 8 wickets. For Sri Lanka, opener Pathum Nissanka was able to score the maximum 57 runs. Unfortunately, he ran out and returned to the dressing room. It seems Sri Lanka will lose all wickets between 160-180. Matt Henry bowled brilliantly. Yes, things are interesting just because of this South Africa is already announced their full strength squad for this two matches series because they are not taking any chance specially after having defeat in hands of the Netherlands in T20i World Cup by 13 runs with this defeat they were pulled out of the semifinal race which was the biggest upset in this event so now today we have first ODI which is going to play at Benoni.

Even recent performance of South Africa is amazing, and they have 100% chance for the win in this series and having direct qualification into ODI World Cup which is going to play in India in October, but they are doing their homework properly before this big event and for this important series as well.

A miserable end of this Test and ODI series for the Sri Lanka as they started on very high note and have very impressive fight in first test match but after this performance New Zealand bring them down badly and not allowed for having any resistance which is surely worst from Sri Lankans because they were badly down in both ODI with their batting is the biggest concern for them no one were able to stand and have any positive contribution in both matches.

While in New Zealand batting as they were at 21 for 3 I was feeling maybe they will be having some hopes alive but Young and Nicholls both were giving no chance and doing things very quickly which allow them to end hopes of Sri Lankans for direct qualification and have another clean sweep in this tour of Sri Lanka to New Zealand.

ODI is more proper cricket then T20, still South Africa need to be careful in both the ODIs unless they want to play the qualifying round. I remember Pakistan chances of making to Semis were gone until Netherlands beat South Africa in last T20 World Cup. Today Netherlands are batting first and so far they have done good, scored 43 runs in 7 overs. Vikramjit Singh just hit 2 back to back sixes to Kagiso Rabada. If Netherlands can take on South Africa main bowler then they can take control of other bowlers also.
