I expect the Detroit Pistons to get back Josh Jackson for tonight's game. Jackson has been out the past couple of games for Detroit with ankle injury and he should be pumped to go up against the team that drafted him 4th overall in the 2017 draft. Jackson is arguably the top Pistons defender and in the 5 full games he's played in this year the Pistons went below the posted total in 4 of them (during regulation time play). Even if Jackson doesn't go this still a solid play as Detroit head coach Dwane Casey spoke yesterday about how he wants his team to get back to the style and type of team they want to be, a defense first squad. There's also some added value here considering the Pistons have played in three straight games with 240+ points scored but keep in mind those came against two of the best teams in the league (Boston and Milwaukee 2x).

The Phoenix Suns come in with a surprising 6-2 start to the season. The biggest reason for their early season success lies in the fact they have allowed the fewest points per game of any team in the league currently at just 102.4 PPG which would also rank as the best we've seen from any team in the NBA the previous two seasons. Phoenix picked up Chris Paul in the off-season and with Paul running their offense the Suns play the slowest pace of any team in the NBA. They are also seeing the emergence of 2018 #1 draft pick DeAndre Ayton who's healthy this year and has elevated his game manning the middle. The Suns have spoke openly about wanting to be the best defensive team in the league this year and I think they will hold this Detroit offense down in this one.

Match: Memphis Grizzlies - Brooklyn Nets

[LOSS] - PICK: BROOKLYN NETS +0.5 POINT 1ST HALF for 2 UNITS (1.86 ODDS).

The Nets are without Kevin Durant and may be without weirdo Kyrie Irving yet again. But I still think that they are fine. In fact, I like them more in this game without Irving. Now they are just the team that they were the past two years, led by buys like Caris LeVert and Joe Harris. Nothing wrong with that. They have big men to match up with Memphis' most dangerous player - remember that they are still without Ja. Morant - and the Nets have the better backcourt. Brooklyn has beaten the Jazz and 76ers this week without their two 'stars' and I think that they can keep rolling. Brooklyn has revenge for a loss to the Grizz on Dec. 30. I don't see it happening again.

I really like the Bucks in this spot. Milwaukee has been at home for three games in a row, and they still have another home game tomorrow night. The Bucks have looked good in their three straight home games winning by 30, 10, and 15 points respectively. Now, the talent level of their opponents hasn't been very good, but to be honest Utah hasn't looked good either. The Jazz have some road losses that just have people scratching their heads, most notably losing to Brooklyn by 34 and the Knicks by 12. These are good comparisons as Milwaukee is just as good or better than both of these teams. This will be Utah's fourth straight road game and fourth road game in six days. Utah just isn't getting enough out of Donovan Mitchell in their losses, and in a game like this he is going to press in order to keep up with the offensive prowess of the Bucks. Utah is just 3-8-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall and 4-14-2 ATS in their last 20 games following a straight up loss. Milwaukee on the other hand is 4-1 ATS in their last five home games versus a team with a winning road record. Lay the points in this one.

We like for AC Milan to bounce back in a big way today after having their 12-match unbeaten run overall and their 27-match Serie A unbeaten run snapped with a 3-1 loss at home midweek to rivals Juventus. AC Milan now have a one point lead over local rivals Inter Milan. At home, Milan are not 3-1-1 in their last five. They host Torino who are in 17th place on just 12 points, 25 points back of the host and coming off a 1-1 draw at ninth place Hellas Verona. Torino are 1-1-3 in their last five matches, but have just one win in their last eight matches. On the road, they did win their last match, 3-0 over 18th place Parma which snapped a four match road winless run. Milan have won the last two at home over Torino and though the visitors have seemed to turn a corner, there is still a huge gap between these two sides. Milan is not a side has back to back poor results. Milan's last two Serie A losses came in February and March 2020 with a 4-2 loss at Inter Milan where they bounced back with a 1-0 home win over Torino and a 2-1 home loss to Genoa which they followed with a 4-1 win at Lecce.

The 6-3 Suns stay on the road from the second night in a row making the short trip to Indy coming off a very low scoring overtime loss to Detroit. The visitors are now 1-2 in their last two and are one of the lowest scoring sides in the Western Conference but also have the lowest points against in the NBA at 103.2. What the Suns lack in offense, they certainly make up for in defense. The Suns have only given up 110 or more in two games this season with both coming in their last two. So expect a somewhat tired Suns team to get back to their defensive foundation, which we have seen means they will also be slow on offense. The Pacers come in off back to back wins and are 6-2 on the season and 4-2 at home. They did well coming off their overtime win at New Orleans (118-116) with a 114-107 home win over Houston. The Pacers will push this Suns defense tonight, averaging over 114 ppg this matchup starts a string of matchups between the Suns and some of the better offenses in the league. The Pacers have done well on defense so far this season, giving up just 108 ppg, so this should come down to ball possession and fouls. We expect defense to win out tonight as these two struggle to break 100 points each.

Whatever line you get we recommended it as a play. The Sun Devils were missing 4 players on Thursday from their overtime loss to UCLA. Not going to try and speculate who will be playing this afternoon, but I just do not believe they can bounce back in less than 48 hours against a more talented USC team. The Trojans dominated the second half against the Wildcats on Thursday in route to their 14 point victory. They have great size that should be able to take advantage of the Sun Devils inside the paint. The Sun Devils got up for their game Thursday, but the second game back after missing key players is usually a lot tougher to maintain and that will be the case tonight. This ASU team already had chemistry issues before Thursday, and 3 of their 4 losses have come by 9 points or more. USC is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 road games. The Trojans are also 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games played on Saturday. ASU is 0-8 ATS in their last 8 home games.

The Ravens will aim to exact revenge for last year's playoff loss but I'm betting they won't be successful. Tennessee has had Lamar Jackson's number and while the Ravens are being talked about as having hit their stride, let's not fail to mention the late season surge came against the Bengals, Giants, Jaguars, and Cowboys, and a 47-42 win against Cleveland could have gone either way with Baltimore scoring a FG and safety in the final 7 seconds of the 4th quarter. Tennessee has handled the Ravens, upsetting Baltimore 28-12 in last year's playoffs and they beat them again this season, 30-24. Obviously, both teams have been ultra-successful running the football in 2020 but we trust in Derrick Henry who can pound right at Raven CBs. Henry ran for 328 yards on 58 carries in the last two meetings (5.66 yards per carry) and we expect more of the same against a Ravens' defense allowing 4.6 yards per pop. Meanwhile, the Titans held Lamar Jackson to 54.5% passing in the two wins, picking off 3 passes while allowing just 2 TDs. We really do feel that Tennessee has Baltimore's number and with the Ravens' defense still struggling against the run, I'm taking the points with the Titans on Sunday.

Minus the loss at Atalanta, Sassuolo were unbeaten in their previous seven away matches, winning five. For Juventus, they are coming off back to back wins including a 3-1 win at leaders AC Milan. These two wins have Juventus up to fifth place in the League, however only one of their last four home matches has been by more than 1 goal, with a draw and a 3-0 loss in their as well. Add in Matthijs de Ligt out for this match which will mean a mixup on the back line and Juve will have trouble with this strong Sassuolo attack. The last two meetings between these two sides have ended in draws.

Coach Jacobson's team won 25 games last year, they played a good Western Kentucky team close, they only lost to St. Mary's by 4 points, they lost to Richmond by just 10 away from home and they beat a good Missouri State team by 10 points. This is a team that takes care of the ball and is top 100 in taking care of the ball, has 3 seniors and keep in mind that for as good as Bradley is, they do not take care of the ball well and they are not a very good 3 point shooting team which could spell disaster against a half court offense like Northern Iowa here who is very disciplined. We roll with Northern Iowa today.

Loyola is 12 points better on my power ratings, they are the #1 offensive efficiency team in the Mo Valley, and #2 on defense. They had a bad day Sunday, and they will come out with purpose and some fire in their belly here today with some serious revenge on their mind. I expect the jump out early and play well here in revenge mode big time. They led by 8 yesterday at the half and I expect the same thing here tonight, especially off a loss. On the overall line of -6 for the game you have a 6 point overlay alone, but I do think the first half is more than safe for an easy winner here. First Half line play.

Brighton have lost seven in a row to Manchester City including a 5-0 and 4-0 lost last season. This is a new year and though Brighton are just hanging on, we except a strong showing today.

I've been saying it all year: this Rhode Island team is underrated. They have played well against one of the best schedules in the country and this is a deep, talented, experienced team. They had several new pieces that they were working to incorporate this year. The Minutemen have played just six games, against a much weaker schedule, and they have lost half of them. They haven't played a Top 100 team yet this year and this is a really inexperienced club, with five freshmen logging major minutes. They aren't going to be able to keep up with a much more talented, much more experienced team in this one.

Jackson was hurt for a stretch early on this year but he's back now and overall he has played in 7 games this season and 5 of those contests went below the posted total (regulation time).

The Milwaukee Bucks were the best team in the NBA during the regular season last year. Most forget the thing that really made the Bucks special was their defense as they finished the year ranked #1 in defensive efficiency and overall posted the lowest season DE by any team in the NBA since the 2015-16 season. The Bucks defense has been a little shaky early on this year but they are coming off two of their better defensive outings in their last two contests as they held both foes below 100 points scored.

Match: New York Knicks - Brooklyn Nets

The Knicks are the best UNDER team in the NBA at 9-2. They are playing some of the best defense in the NBA and they have a struggling offense. That is a great recipe for UNDERS, and the total has been posted too high here once again. Brooklyn has gone over a bunch lately. Therefore, the oddsmakers had to post a high number here. But New York has been horrible offensively lately, as they haven't scored more than 90 in three straight games. They haven't scored more than 106 in six of their last eight games, and you would have to think they would need more than that tonight in order for this one to go over the total. It's unlikely Brooklyn will have a big offensive night, with the Knicks D playing well and some distractions bogging down the team. If New York wants to keep this one competitive, they will need to slow the pace and count on defense for success.
