Guys, help please

Have an sp20 I can login to, see on the network, but it's offline. "awaiting pool etc."
than after a short while it goes offline.

I had another do this and was able to get it back with a few good reboots. No luck with this one.

Is this common? any pointers?

Is it hashing at any point before reboot? Try another pool?

What size PSU are you using?  With "after a short while it goes offline" makes me wonder if too small psu and it's going off once hitting a certain hashing speed.

I'm running 3 SP20 off two DPs-2000 server power supplies, which are not tripping.
And I mean it is accessible for a short while, but never hashes. just eventually goes offline

Some obvious ones, but did you try changing pools, lowering starting voltage, updating firmware, factory reset?

I had one behaving similarly - every few reboots it would hash for a few minutes and then stop hashing while disappearing from the network. Ping still worked, I think, but no webconfig loaded. Figured it was bad code so I updated the firmware and it's been running without issue for a week and some.

check all the ethernet cables. reboot your router. add a backup pool that you know 100% works. update the firmware

24" PCI-E cables with 16AWG wires and stripped ends - great for server PSU mods, best prices https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=563461

Firmwares updated,
I have 6 of these, all same pool, all i know work, this one when I power it off manually, and back on, the yellow lights blinks twice.
I can access it online for a while and eventually it drops off, but never connects?
Ethernets are good, both those lights blink, but I'll swap it just to see.

Double e-mail support@?

at least.

they seem to be confused/unsupportive.

one day im getting told 35 usd for experimental SD card , another day its free (but non-forthcoming)

now i need (apparently) MMC/control boards replacing - its gone quiet...again.

the only way i seem to get a response is resorting to posting here and waiting to be told to contact '@support' AGAIN

@takagari - CONGRATS, my last half dozen 'fixes' have been bizarre.

Mine definitely do not have the time right. They're stuck Jan 2000 something. No changes in the local network though.
Also, Eligius is having problems since 2 days ago .. if you have your miners there.

^^^ How do you know you were scammed? 1.2 BTC including worlwide shipping ..... 2gd2btru!

Looks like I got scammed on eBay, paid for 3 SP20Es using BTC (I know, I know..) because the seller had 100% feedback and 173 transactions. Stupid me for thinking that was enough to trust him.

Here are the 3 units I "bought". Beware of him.

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Spondoolies-SP20E-JACKSON-capable-of-0-5-W-GH-underclocked-/321693638970?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae66f613a

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Spondoolies-SP20E-JACKSON-capable-of-0-5-W-GH-if-underclocked-/321693640121?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item4ae66f65b9

I'm feeling real fucking dumb right about now. Guess contacting eBay will be pointless, since I paid for them with BTC and have nothing but our messages as proof.

So did he not provide tracking within a few days of sale, did they not show up after a week or two, like pekatete asked how do you know you were scammed? Even with BTC payment a legitimate seller that is so active will most likely not risk loosing his 100% feedback so easily..

This started on March 13th. We messaged back and forth through eBay until we struck a deal, at which point he provided me with a BTC address to send my payment to. Sent him the payment, and asked him a follow up question. No answer on the 13th, or the 14th. On the 15th, I was worried so I wrote him again. Still no answer. I decided to bid up all 3 of them since I had paid for them already, and he only had those 3 to sell. They are legitimately mine, so why not. Trying to get his attention. He finally gets back to me last night, asking why I bid such a ridiculous price on all 3 of his items, proceeds to remove my bids, and sends me another message informing me that he did. Keep in mind he completely ignored my previous messages I sent him after paying him.

The 3 SP20Es are still up for sale, he's still ignoring me, and I can no longer bid on them or use the "ask the seller a question" option. Seems he's banned me from his auctions.

Do I have any recourse? The 3 SP20Es I bought are apparently available for local pickup in France, and he told me he has more SP20Es being hosted in Israel when he was actually communicating with me. I guess the only thing I can do is contact eBay, though I doubt they'll help since I paid with bitcoin.  Undecided

Ohh, you didn't buy the items through ebay and pay via BTC, you just sent BTC directly to him.. Does ebay not even have a completed sale to reference?

PayPal [owned by eBay and is eBay's created means of making payments] does not accept BTC payments yet.  If eBay (PayPal) had accepted BTC payments, this would not have occurred.

Pisses me off!

I think the issue may be that the price of BTC could change between the time of payment [While PayPal holds the payment] and the time the item is received by the buyer.  The way to settle that is for the seller to simply accept an agreement when accepting bitcoin that they will be okay with BTC payment if the price of BTC has changed between the time of sell and the buyer receiving the item.

For next time...

Does eBay support Non-PayPal payment methods, yes.. Do they offer coverage in those cases, no... However you still have the privilege of leaving negative feedback and can defend it to eBay even with BTC payments.. In short they still make a final value fee in that case..

Disclaimer.. I successfully sold multiple 10K+ batches of miners via eBay, paid fees and took BTC payment..

Stupid question probably, but can an SP20 be run off 2  or 3 power connections? One per Hashing Board?

Trying to see if I can run 2 downclocked SP20's off one EVGA 1300W G2, but it only has 6x 6pin power cables.

I run 6 of my SP20s off of 3 EVGA 1300 G2s, use the 2 in 1 connector that came with it for loops 1 and 3 on both SP20s and the normal connectors for loops 2 and 4

clock loops 1 and 3 slightly lower and you'll have no problems at all.

Here are my settings:
miner-FL1451099043# cat mg_custom_mode_day
FAN:0 VS0:605 VS1:615 VS2:605 VS3:615 VMAX:620 AC0:120 AC1:140 AC2:120 AC3:140 DC_AMP:170

I get around 900 - 990GH/sec during the day off of 510 watts at the wall and 1150 to 1250GH/s depending on the machine at 620 watts at the wall at night.
