SP30 and SP31 is listed I am in the process of making a dedicated sheet for speculative profitability return with a 10% network difficulty increase. 😊

I try to keep an update of hardware I own. Also since the performance is the same I consider batch orders not as vital unless a significant hardware performance is noted.

Not sure what the point of this is when all the info is incorrect/out of date. It's also missing like 90% of hardware available.

For anyone that doesn´t know:

As far as I can tell, grcooling is a form of immersion cooling, utilizing a "standard" 1-phase cooling liquid.

This is correct, we use an oil based dielectric coolant, which is much more cost effective than a two phase cooling approach. Two phase cooling fluids typically cost about $200 per gallon, while oil based liquid coolants are orders of magnitude cheaper. We can handle rack densities of over 100 KW per rack, with a cooling overhead energy use of about 3%. We can achieve this in any climate on the globe. If you can find me flat level ground, Available Power, communications and a roof, I can build you one of the most efficient, cost effective data centers on the planet.  Please see below a link to a youtube video of what our cooling units typically look like in action.

.... So you're saying you're moving the fluid from rack to roof, cooling it to ambient and back to rack for less than 3KW per rack?

The path of heat flow through the systems works like this: The heat from the boards/ASICs is tranfered to the rack coolant, which is then pumped to a pump module which houses Redundant pumps, controls, and heat exchangers. The heat exchangers have an oil and a waterside. The waterside of the heat exchangers are plumbed into a warm water loop which runs to a simple evaporative cooling tower, which is the most common & cost effective means for final heat rejection.

The whole system has 3 moving parts: 1. Oil/Coolant pump 2. Water pump for Warm Water Loop. 3. Fan on Cooling tower, which may or may not be on due to current weather conditions.

3-4 KW is a typical energy cooling usage for a 100 KW system.

What is your estimated cooling infrastructure $/W for high density hardware like an SP30?

Your site says $1/w but I'm assuming that's not right because that's about twice as expensive as 2 phase immersion cooling.

$1 per watt is on the high end of our pricing model for corporate data centers (tier III / IV) that serve a much different hardware and redundancy requirement profile. Our cooling solutions tailored for miners are substantially cheaper than $1 per watt.   The pricing depends on volume. If I am building a single unit, it is going to have a per unit cost that is much more expensive than if I was building you 100 cooling units.  How many SP-30s are you considering?

While they do have some pre-orders, the bulk of their offerings are not. Nobody beats Bitmain's offerings right now, and the S3+ ships in 3 days.

Yes I will be hosting them myself. I have a portable air-conditioner in my room (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Amcor-PLMB-Portable-Conditioning-conditioner/dp/B001AXJ3V8). Do you think this one is fine for me?

When you say "in your room" I hope you do not mean that you will be staying in that room when the units are in there?

These sp30s are optimised for datacenter performance and not meant to be a home solution.
They can be a home solution with proper AC / airflow engineering, but hardly in a closed room.

Apart from the fact that AC equipment is expensive, running it also adds to your electricity bill, and unless you get WA state power rates, that will mean a big increase in your hosting cost.

That adds to the problem aswell.

Standard wiring will not provide 9kW of 220V power in a normal room.

In the back of my house I have a separate building which is being used as a music studio. I was planning to put the machines into a server rack and store them in that space with that air-conditioner. Are there any other ways I could keep them as a home solution? Maybe a different air-con? or server rack with cooling?

Sure, you could get an air-con that supports around 27kBTU, which will consume around 3kW of power itself.

You could increase the airflow through the building to around 1000cfm, and if outside temperatures are not above 30°C, everything should be fine.

You could go for an evaporative cooling solution if you live in a dry climate, this can give you both enough airflow aswell as enough cooling.

Finally, you could purchase hosting with one of the many hosting providers.

Really? I'm from the UK so all the appliances I have support 240v. I believe the SP-30 takes 240v from the wall?
Will it be hard for me even to plug two machines to my wall? Is there any other way?
