SP-10 is the king of noise and SP-30 is the Queen then you will have the SP-20 making it the princess
I don´t know why manufacturers ignore the noise effect, yeah yeah they are meant to be in data-centers but that´s not decentralization
I have SP30s in 3 different datacenters on 2 continents. I see this as being more decentralized than having them all in my home.

Next thing is someone telling the cloud´s are good for decentralization also Anyway they are really good machines with very nice engineering on it although extremely noisy wich is normal for datacenters or for someone who wants a divorce

So you want to tell me that having miners in your house is better than having miners in your house+3 other datacenters? Ok...

I have all my miners in datacenters, but there are certain times.... Lets say I am testing, troubleshooting or repairing the miner. I don't want 65db sound, its just not a proper design. Also, when miners become unprofitable to be in the datacenter, but perhaps I want to put them in my office somewhere, but I couldn't do that because they would be screaming. (1.7T is really not worth hosting BTW) In addition, it just a pet peave with loud fans, I feel it's poor design. That's my opinion and you can disagree with it. As they say on the TV show Shark tank, SP20 is a nothingburger, I'm out!

It helps in avoiding different downtime situations like no power, no internet, theft, natural disasters, accidents etc. Also mining on local p2pool nodes helps in case of DDoS.

Right, but what does that have to do with decentralization?
It's a better decentralization than the 50k products sold by BFL to "home miners" which are offline now...

Right, but what does that have to do with decentralization? The cost of downtime situations and theft has to be measured against the hosting cost. That is why I only do month to month with mining contracts. Over time you are less concerned about a miner being stolen. You cant really put that many miners in a house, so downtime for even a full day is no big deal.

Why is the SP20 less efficient than the SP35?
I thought they used the same ASICs?
SP20 1100W / 1700 GH/s = 0.65J/GH SP35 3500W / 6000 GH/s = 0.58J/GH

It's also 35% more expensive per Gh/s too. SP20: $1,190.00 + $300 PSU for 1.7 Th/s = 0.88 USD per Gh/s SP35: $3,920.00 for 6Th/s = 0.65 USD per Gh/s The above prices don't even include the $115 shipping fee. Face it, the SP20s are terribly priced. S3s and Tubes offer far better value.

Difficulty is up another ~15% in eight days , Not sure if it is worth it to invest in ANY new hardware at the current hardware prices . Even with a coupon and discounts a SP35 or 31 costs over 3k with shipping
ROI is looking somewhat impossible because by October when units ship difficulty could be up 30% from now ugh.
Don't worry. It will drop down to about 5-7% just few days before next difficulty change ;-) As always fine work with your charts and hardware predictions. You've saved a lot of investors more money and grief than you'll ever know. As you say "Pay it forward" I just want to say thank you again for paying it forward.

If your going to do hosting with the SP20, why would you buy a 1.7Th/s when the SP10s 1.4Th/s are selling for $1,000 and below with power supply included on ebay?

How much power use on the s20 isn't it like 1200w? Its a tad more efficient I guess than the sp10 but you're right its not a great dea Should be priced closer to $900 P.s I guess the assumption is that the buyer already has a psu ,

The best investment I made this year is in gaw prime hashlets at $16/mhz Now I can sell them for $39.99 or possibly. My sp30 orders are a wash at best at worst no ROI

What also matters for some people who really care about environment (as I mentioned that before) is where the electricity in DC for your mining is coming from. If it is coming from terribly ecocidal traditional power plant or if it is coming from green, renewable, sustainable geothermal power plant (or wind, tidal, solar, wave). So far I have not noticed anyone on any bitcoin thread pointing out the importance of this mining factor.
