Even though I shut down the wallet properly (File->Quit), I can almost never get it to work again after shutdown and start from where it finished. I have to delete the 'data' folder and re-download the entire blockchain, or it wouldn't run. I don't know, it could be just me, I admit, no idea why it happens.

Does this have the same effect as deleting the entire 'data' folder?
Well, I expect it to start syncing from where it finished without having to delete anything. I even unpacked the new v10 from scratch and restored the wallet from the seed as someone advised, fully downloaded the blockchain, then File->Quit, and it wouldn't start after that, just posts some nasty Java exception and exits, now I am downloading the blockchain again. I guess it's just my bad luck, everyone else has no issues?

Qora already said a bitcoin does this but disables it in the client, I assume to protect against double spend.

Qora said he cant comment on NXT as he doesn't know how NXT works.

NXT apparently doesn't allow instant spending from sent funds, needing at least 1 conformation.

So again I ask the community is Qoras ability to safely send instantly sent funds unique?

If there is a community here Huh

It is impossible to know all the technical details of all cryptocurrencies.

The default Bitcoin client only allows you to spend your own unconfirmed transactions.
I think they have disabled this because they have a higher volume of transactions therefore the chance of a transaction not getting confirmed is higher.

With qora it is unlikely that a transaction won't get confirmed because the volume of transactions is not that high so transactions don't have to compete for a place in the next block yet.
So currently we can rely that every valid transaction will be included in the next block.

If the transaction on which your transaction relies doesn't confirm you will have to wait 24h until it becomes invalid.

wtf is an ipo coin??

IPO = Initial public offering.

When a coin is released, an IPO may be offered where you can buy coins at a specific rate. For example, when NXT was announced, it was possible to buy 1 NXT for 2 satoshis each. This IPO period lasted a couple of days, and at the end of the IPO period, those who had sent BTC were awarded with the amount of NXT proportional to the amount they had invested. Typically people invest in IPOs because they think that the coin will appreciate in value once the IPO is over and the coin becomes more widely known and is traded in exchanges. Sometimes IPOs are scams, as in the case of Stackcoin where about 70 BTC was invested but the "developer" ran off with the funds. Angry

He tells you it has a memory leak (meaning it is using too much memory) so you tell him to increase the memory usage setting. That is counter intuitive.

what do you mean by thread synchronisation update? I'm positive just what it is.

I'm surprised after looking at thread there on Kora how positive they are on Kora! But not interested in Qora!

Seems very hypocritical and strange for NXT fans it's like them prefering NEM over NXT.Huh
