v13 running fine. .exe works fine. Thank you Qora. Is that correct? { "knownpeers":[ "146.185.141.232", "162.243.170.76", "42.159.153.145", "88.198.69.99", "85.21.237.35", "193.242.149.63", "113.250.226.131" ], "minconnections": 10, "generatorkeycaching": true } That's not needed. I didn't change anything and only unlocked and locked my account and I'm forging. Interesting. The dev said it was needed. You say it isn't. How do you know it is forging? There is no indicator in the wallet UI that I am aware of.

By putting the setting "generatorkeycaching" to "true" you can keep generating blocks after you lock your wallet as long as you have unlocked you wallet once since startup.
We can now forge and do not afraid for our coins, folks. Just unlock your wallet and lock it again. It will continue generating blocks. Awesome!!! Thanks master I will forge everyday now

Dear community,
Remember everyday there are coming new people into the crypto world. Everyday people like you and me find about crypto currencies and are getting involved and they will look for good opportunities.
It's really good we are already an sustainable community and coin. No pump and dump shit, but building a strong community, having a dedicated dev, having one of the best coins out there with new features each time adding.
This will make it attractive for new people in crypto and of course the people who are already for 1 year and more in crypto.
Knowing this, we also know where we are in 6 months and where we are in 1 year. What NXT did, we can do better!!

Total forging balance renews every 10 blocks. Just wait till 9th block, then start forging. Two blocks later you should see that total forging balance has changed and do the math. If you're the only one who joined then the balance should be larger on the amount of your coins. That's noob version Probably you could find out it easier.

have been watching cryptocurrencies for a little while now, but just got involved in qora - bought some + used the wallet. pretty fast in confirming balances which is nice - been used to waiting for eons for bitcoin to transfer so that's definitely nice! Keeping an eye on this. Keep up the work dev.

Yeah, Arbitary Transactions have just been implemented and the next feature is most likely is Asset Exchange.

I'm interested in the similarities/differences between Qora and NXT. Is there a list of features that Qora already has or plans to implement in the near future, and a comparison with NXT's implemented/upcoming features?
Ultimately it's as much about the overall direction of travel for each and where they might end up, as well as where Qora is breaking new ground.

I tried to start a similar discussion a day ago but people tend not to talk about anything that is important on here. Just their personal wallet concerns. The fact is there is a lot of overlap in functions BUT that is not the issue as implementation is everything. What I was trying to get answers to is this. NXT people tend to look at Qora and say oh it has similar functions as NXT therefore it has no point. But I would say what did NXT do that was truly innovative apart from transparent forging? As far as i can tell NXT just packaged functions that were available already. So really NXT is all about a new framework of implementation. So basically the same as what Qora has done......just better. Its kind of like saying whats the point of designing a new car, we already made one. Am I Right or Wrong?

You are right about TF. But which functions were already implemented successfully and by who?

I don't have time for a back and forth today so I will just make my point TF is a new idea, Asset Exchange (Coloured Coins) is an old idea. But AE has never been implemented as successfully as it has in Nxt before. As you argue, it is the implementation that gives value so the AE is an asset to Nxt. The more people use it, the less likely they will use another AE (analogous to the main stock markets and the regional ones, most big listing will go to New York and not... Chicago?) Instant Transactions is an exsiting idea in crypto, Nxt didn't invent it. But it has never been implemented successfully in a decentraliused way before. And Nxt has a project to have this feature by the end of August. So Nxt will benefit from the so called 'first mover advantage', unless there is something else that comes out of the blue. Nxt isn't re-packaging existing ideas, just implementing them successfully. As well as adding TF as a new idea.

In the end comparing functions is a bit like comparing dick length. What matters is which system will be used by the most people you are right about that. I mean if the world decided tomorrow to use Dogecoin and not Bitcoin then Dogecoin wins and it wont matter if it was the original. The problem is we are judging the future from the past. Honestly who knows if first mover advantage is relevant here. I guess Myspace moved first before FB, I guess Netscape moved before Google.. That's why i'm putting my chips mainly on Qora, cause its user friendly. NXT is horrible to use especially the asset exchange. Your parents will never use it and that's why its future is limited imo. Thats why I shrug everytime NXT adds another function making it even more complicated and complex for the average person. I hope Qora doesn't try to copy NXT's way at all and keeps its focus on the average user and superfluous add-ons. Every new function should be tested by everyone kids to see if they can use it. If not then something is wrong.

Ripple is distributed, not decentralised. We can have a debate another time over whether you think is has been successful. That's why i'm putting my chips mainly on Qora, cause its user friendly. My girlfriend issued an asset and sold it on the AE testnet with just me saying "Issue and asset and sell 50 of them." That was a few months ago. You might have trouble but I think people should judge it for themselves.

You might have trouble but I think people should judge it for themselves. I firmly believe that people can, and should, diversify their crypto portfolio. I am certainly a big fan on Nxt and I've only recently come on-board with QORA since it is both new and innovative. IMHO, liking one is not mutually exclusive with liking the other. There has been a problem within the entire crypto community since the first fork of BTC that any new, alt-coin has always been attacked. I don't know why. With over 7 billion people in the world, and probably less than 5 million cryptocurrency enthusiast, it's not like there isn't room form multiple innovative coins, and their respective communities. With that said, please don't make statements like "the Nxt AE is to hard to use!" unless you've actually tried to use it, asked a couple people on a forum if you've had questions and then determined that, in your opinion, it is difficult. The AE is every bit as easy to use as, say, a site like Cryptostock. Also, from what I've heard (but not researched) Nxt has the easiest to use asset system over others that have come before it. If you are familiar with trading stocks, bonds, or any other "asset", then you will find the AE to be easy to use. Keep up the good work with QORA. I'm going to try and dig into some of the specifics. Maybe in a week, or two, I can answer the of the difference between the two coins.

A Personal Quote on BTT from 2011: "I'd be willing to make a moderate "investment" if the value of the BTC went below $2.00. Otherwise I'll just have to live with my 5 BTC and be happy. :/" ...sigh. If only I knew.

IMHO, liking one is not mutually exclusive with liking the other.
How far can crypto go when we need to add IMHO to such common sense statements? It is common sense to some but not to others. I think many people feel that crypto is a zero sum game. One coin must do poorly for another to do well. I don't think this is the case at all. however, I do think this is the wild west and the majority of the coins will not really go anywhere. There's no doubt, bitcoin is the blue chip stock here. There are some other alts that are good stock too, others that are penny stocks. I also think the majority of crypto coins will not be used for commerce but only for day trading. It is also my opinion that the majority of people in coins now are either day traders or buying it as a speculative investment. I fall into the later category. But, the truth is, as of this day, the problem crypto coins were originally designed to solve, while real isn't what their current primary use is. wrt to the AE, I think most people using it, even thought they say they are not selling securities are actually selling securities. That is a regulated activity in most places. So, we will have to see if some asset that doesn't deliver on a promise ever gets sued and that will set a precedence. But, I digress. This isn't really about Qora, specifically. I'm sure there are other threads here that discuss these issues.

No one said you cant like both I just said I didn't like NXT. Do we have to like using everything?
But almost no Qora supporters are against NXT its just NXT user were the one who often stated that Qora didnt add to the already innovative NXT. My point was dig a bit deeper then that idea is a little flawed.
Problem is no one wants to address that cause unfortunately most involved in Qora actually would prefer NXT to succeed than Qora. Most here are NXT'ers first and Qora fans second. Its hard to get any real strong support of Qora.
