I was having that problem for awhile as well and redownloading the block chain would fix it.. also, I upgraded to the latest and greatest Java and I don't think I've had that problem since then. But I haven't left my wallet open for long periods of time (which would cause the issue in the past) for awhile now so not sure if it still crops up or not.

Unfortunately Qora will release the SC when the coin is 'established'.

I can't see anyone saying Qora is 'established' if it's in the 30's on Coinmarketcap however much development progress has been made.

But we won't get any serious buying until people know it's OS (my opinion)


So what we have here is a classic catch 22 and therefore don't expect it to be released anytime soon. And when it does get released it will smell of desperation and no one will care.

It does not have to be all or nothing.
What about splitting source into independent components and opening them one by one ?
Crypto would be the first to open because many are interested to review how secure it is and if Qora made any mistakes there. Also if it's standard then clones already know it anyway.
I guess relationship between addresses and seed can be opened too.

Novel parts of the code like tracking of chained pending transactions and rolling them back can stay hidden - everybody can see it functioning, so no need to open it for easy clones.
I guess Qora knows better what is sensitive to disclosure and what is not.

Modularization can greatly help to split work between developers in the future, so it's worth Qora's effort to do it.
Each module could have own release lifecycle and well defined API to interact with other modules.

There was one vote for the whole thing "all or nothing".

Also I have seen than many small transactions never showed up in my tx list
They show up in the block explorer but not im my wallet tx list but oddly the balance seems ok.
Anyone else noticed this ?
Downloading fresh chain and recover from seed did not solve that problem.

This coin has launched nearly 3 month, but the community has never been established.
The nodes are decreasing.
There are only about 250 people who have more than 1m coins. And about 400 people who have more than 10k coins.
The distribution is sucks.
That means no one is really interest about qora.
Honestly, it is too risky to buy qora now. here is the reason.
1. We really don't know what the really innovation of qora.
Qora claim it will solve the biggest problem of bitcoin, but i don't know what is the biggest problem of bitcoin.
Qora didnot reveal it too.
2. Do we really could trust the dev?
No one can tell except the dev himself.
The funny things is the reason we like crypto-currency is we don't need to trust anyone.
But we have to trust the dev. It's so ironically.
If the dev disappear, this coin is end.
3. The source code was never reviewed by anyone, That  is a huge risk.

While I agree the code needs to become open source soonish. Setting a time is more important than when, even if it's in 3 months it shows commitment. But I disagree with most of what you are saying. the distribution has been fine. Most got about 1% over many people that means no big whales. Also the coin has now exch aged hands at really cheap prices so the distributions sucks argument is just wrong.

Everyone trusts the developer apart from it seems a few idiots in the community who are more damaging than helpful and tend to bail if the developer doesn't turn up for a day or two. That's his style, get use to it. I agree the community hasn't established and OS will help, plus I would like a bit more explanation of how Qora works too but it's not nessecary once the SC is released.

But the fact remains cryptocurrency has a culture of open source so going against that is not going to be popular. Clones do not hurt a coin. What could happen if you don't play the game however is people dismiss Qora and move onto another coin. It's not like anyone has to use Qora.

Try to understand all this from the culture of cryptocurrency this is not windows office.

i would say that would be the best time to do it.

i think with Ae there will be a bump in the price and with a unique wallet it will go even higher.

The priority right now is to setup a good looking blog so Qora can leave his thoughts there. This alone will help the price.

Qora is developing the coin as per his mandate. The community is in charge and we are heading for the moon 

The "problem" with this coin is that the dev is more worried about innovation than hype. This has been shown many times over.

Right now every Qora investor can help by contacting new sites about the progress our dev is making. Reach out to other devs and tell them about AT and the APIs set in the API document. It all comes back to what can you do for Qora, dont just think about what Qora can do for you.

There was a roadmap/plan somewhere but I haven't heard anything about it since.

You might have to throw out your assumptions based on usual shitcoin pumps. my criticism of Qora has always been the lack of community passion, personally cause I think the main people involved are NXT supporters first Qora second which pisses me off. cause if they followed through then cool things would be fine but they set up a big plan and have hardly been seen since, so blocking any passionate people with talent to get onboard. I wonder if that was their plan all the time? NXT guys have quite a bit of fear and bitterness toward Qora. They will say they don't but don't believe it, they do.

But no one here has anything but respect for Qora the developer cause we recognise he might of built the coin that in time pushes out all other competition. no one needs to worry about Qora, he's a developer, let him work. Satoshi also wouldn't be comfortable hyping a coin and organising twitter campaigns. He's simply not interested, genius developers are like that.

I think many people in many countries, US included don't think much about copyright and that wouldn't stop them from using the code.

That said, I don't recall when we voted. I also don't understand the reasons people wanted to keep the source closed at this point. I think there are more benefits to releasing the code than the detriments to opening it and/or to leaving it closed. Also, the voting system isn't truly fair, since it is based on held Qora. We have no idea how many votes Qora holds, so he could be controlling the vote.

At this point, I support Qora. I am advertising for it in my sig. But, I won't be adding to my holdings via purchases until the code is open sourced (or at least visible) so that the claims made in the OP can be verified and also the security of the algos can be reviewed by a few experts in the community.

Qoras plan was to OS after 1-2 months. We can't blame Qora for that. if you look at the guys who were asking it to stay closed are all very prominent in the NXT community.
