Matchday 16 could be a surprise for PSG against Strasbourg but it's a shame Strasbourg's 1 point in sight had to be destroyed due to Mbappe's penalty in the final minutes of extra time.
As usual, they dominated the match but the sending off of Neymar for a red card made things difficult for them and there were a lot of wasted chances in this game.

PSG were very lucky to have escaped that one. They were dominant with the ball, having about 70% of the possession, but did little with it and looked neutered in the absence of Lionel Messi. I don't think that we can  blame Neymar for the failure of the Brazilian national team. He just did what he could and even scored a goal for the Croatians in extra time and maybe if they gave a chance to Neymar for the penalty spot everything would not be so sad.
I am not a fan of Neymar, but considering how many fouls they put on him, how much he gets kicked, I understand why he sometimes doesn't hold back. Although in this game he played so-so, yes, he gave a goal pass to Marcianos, but if it wasn't for Mbappe, then probably the ceiling for PSG would have been a draw with Strasbourg.

For today games I have bet on Lorient vs Montpellier at both teams to score yes,it has an unusual low odd of 1.63 for the French Ligue 1 but that is because these teams have conceded goals both of them in 4 of their last 5 games and both teams have also scored in 4 of their last 5 games so to me this looks like the more logical bet for today games.

The fact that Paris won yesterday just add to the boring and monotony that this league has become,no other team can afford to spend as much as Paris does and thus the Ligue 1 is not interesting at all in this regard.

The match that was expected to be easy for PSG turned out to be very difficult to win. That means PSG always have the potential to drop points even if people believe PSG are up against a weaker team on paper. In that match, PSG were certainly lucky to win a few minutes before the end of the match, and even then because the referee awarded them a penalty.

This difficult victory has certainly made PSG stronger at the top of the standings with a total of 44 points from 16 matches. PSG managed to widen the point gap with Lens to 8 points, while Lens has the opportunity to reduce this point gap if it beats Nice today. Lens and PSG are playing match in early January, so if Lens lose today against Nice then they will very likely have more points gap should PSG beat them in their next match.

Lorient has not been able to win in their last 5 matches which has made their position slumped to 7th in the standings table. Montpellier is the same way, in fact they are worse than Lorient, so betting on Lorient's victory will be very promising at this time. Moreover, this will be a home game from Lorient which makes them more likely to get full points in front of their own supporters.

As you said, if we refer from the H2H history between the meetings of these two teams. Lorient always lose against Montpellier, both at home and away. however, when referring to the current standings of the two teams. that in fact, Lorient is better than Montpellier. and currently, Lorient is ranked 7th and Montpellier is ranked 15th in the Ligue 1 standings. plus, in Montpellier's last 7 matches in Ligue 1, they did not even win a game and were only able to produce 2 draws.

As for Lorient, in their last 5 matches they have not been as good as Montpellier either. it's just that, Lorient is better when compared to the opposing team, they only experienced two defeats and three draws. however, in truth this match should have belonged to the home team. because after all, this game is Lorient's home game. which they are more seeded and have better statistics this season. according to my estimation, this game will be owned by the home team.

First of all, I believe that Monaco needs to improve. Their performance has not been up to the mark this season. They finished third in the last season. But they are currently in the fifth position on the table this season. So, improvements needed to be made for them. They are obviously in a good position right now and they can obviously get ahead on the table. But they will have to improve quickly otherwise they won’t have a chance to improve because half of the season is already gone.

There is no reason to worry about PSG in this league. I believe that whatever happens, PSG will be able to win. The level of players that they have in the team is matched with any other team in this league.
