I can't imagine Arsenal losing this match. I thought I was going to see Arsenal win. Arsenal players tried a lot to score. The entire match was dominated by Arsenal players, but they failed to win. Arsenal players had 74% of the ball possession. They made 30 shots in the whole match. Arsenal played completely attacking. They cannot keep their defense strong. West Ham attacked very little. But Arsenal's players failed to resist West Ham's counterattacks. And this is why they are defeated. Coach Arteta needs to strengthen his defense. Otherwise, it will not be possible for Arsenal to win the title.

Arsenal match against West Ham illustrated how cornered Arteta troops were, who couldn't do much to equalize until the final minute. Even though Arsenal launched around 30 shots and none of them scored a single goal. Initially I also thought that Arsenal would get 3 points because this match was quite important to win, but unfortunately Arsenal defense seemed to have seen gaps in the West Ham players. The first goal reminded me of Japan goal in the world cup if I'm not mistaken against Germany. In fact, Arteta was too focused on attacking and didn't anticipate counter attacks, that's the only thing that made this match Arteta unable to control and West Ham had a goalkeeper who was on fire and made several pins.

There is one thing about football and that is history. No matter how good a club is presently,  at a time, they are influenced by history and the club pattern of football. We have witnessed many matches that Arsenal dominate and in the end they were unable to get a goal.
Honestly, Arsenal needed to win the match against West Ham United.  They needed the win to seal their confidence that at the half of the season match,  they were at the top of the table.

We have known Arsenal as a club that can easily give up their first position to another club when they are slightly pressured. That is why I am not very surprised.  I am more confident seeing Liverpool at the top more than seeing Arsenal at the top.

I was initially confident in Arsenal before the match started saying the Gunners would definitely win because this was playing at home, unfortunately this did not become the desired expectation even though of course I bet Arsenal but the results were disappointing at the hands of West Ham.

Arsenal squad could not score at all, Arsenal did seem to continue to attack, it's just that their attacks were often thwarted by opponents West Ham goalkeeper did a good job making it difficult for Arsenal.

This match is quite upsetting to remember because seeing from what Arsenal showed in this match, their dominance was actually very crazy but in the end it was also unable to make them get 3 points even with the ball possession and the many opportunities they had.
West Ham played very well in defense but actually if you look at what happened 2 goals scored by West Ham I think it can be minimized by Arsenal actually but with problems about communication that is not very good precisely this makes the situation of Arsenal not very profitable even though they are favorites in this match.

Dusan Vlahovic not good enough for the wing. I don't even know how they compare Saka with Mo Salah. They're not lucky, Arsenal have earned them position to wherever they're currently.

Bukayo Saka was not the only player who failed and it was felt that all the players did not provide anything impressive in this match. Mikel Arteta as the person in charge also deserves to be criticized because he always brings problems when Arsenal is at the top every mid-season. This is actually no different from last season where Arsenal were always able to get a place at the top and since the match against West Ham it seems that Arsenal are no longer ready to maintain their chances of winning the EPL.

It's no wonder that Arsenal will miss that opportunity and go back to having the same season as before. Mikel Arteta must add players, especially in his attack line, because as you said, it is no different from last season's player options. Well, let's see if in January they will be aware or still confident about the current squad.

I don't think Arsenal is ready yet this season, Arteta needs to make improvements to his team if they want to win the title, as their current performance which includes not scoring a goal won't get them far. Arsenal is set to lose another trophy this season. They play the entire game, but West Ham is the only team scoring. I disagree with anyone who predicted that West Ham would defeat Arsenal. My expectation was that Arsenal would win because they need the three points to get back the top spot in the league, but they are unable to defend their home. If West Ham not missed the penalty, the score would have ended in a 3:0 defeat for Arsenal. Liverpool is still leading the league right now.

Since Arsenal lost to West Ham at home, I believe that Manchester City still has a chance to win the league title this season. My initial thought was that, with new players joining the team, this season would be different from last season in that Manchester City would struggle to return to the top, but Arsenal still lost to earn three points.

It wasn't just Saka who failed in that match, but we can say that Arsenal attack line failed miserably in converting the opportunities they had into goals, the 30 shots they managed to create were just wasted opportunities and Arteta should have realized them they still really need a goal-hungry striker able to be a differentiator for the team when a situation like the one against Westham occurs, currently Arteta is relying too much on both wings to score goals and even Jesus doesn't seem to be able to do much in that match, so far Jesus has been plotted as Arsenal main striker but after suffering a long injury Jesus seems to no longer be able to achieve his best performance, I think apart from adding defenders, it is time for Arsenal to look for a striker who really has a goal-hungry instinct like Thiery Henri and Van Persie in the past.

I don’t even know what went wrong for Arsenal yesterday. They created 5 big chances yesterday which was enough to score five goals. The Saka header, the Jesus header, the bar Saka hit etc. I can count chances they missed that a certain Liverpool or Manchester city will bury with ease.
What pained me was the fact that they dominate west ham and had plenty touches in their box. They had about 30 shots and I had to analyze the quality of these touches and shots.
Of the 30 shots only 8 were on target and with my eyes I can tell 5-6 out of that 8 were back pass like where the goalkeeper really didn’t need to make a save.
The 22 that were not on target, at least 10 were blocked shots that did not move half a meter. Another 6 were air balls that did not even come close.

The bigger problem is that their frontline is dead food. The decision making is shit which is dulling the quality of chances they are creating. If they continue to convert few or none of their chances, I don’t think they will smell the top 3 of the league table.

Arsenal who's consider to be in race with Liverpool for the the EPL title have suddenly dropped from the race,  what do we expected from these clubs now that they lost to Westham United? A recovery back to winning track? The matches are becoming complicated for elite clubs, their opponents are not stopping behind and keen on holding them down and denial of three points. The EPL race is changing into another dimension, we would be expecting new challengers and there's Manchester City who will surpassed Aston Villa and Arsenal who are relenting in their actions to win EPL matches.

Arsenal's defeat against West Ham looks very bad for them but it is interesting for the competition for the title and in a few weeks we have seen at least three teams take turns leading the standings.
The defeat against West Ham is actually normal in my opinion because Manchester City even experienced the same defeat 3 times this season and there are still many who believe Manchester City can compete for the title, so why Arsenal can't? the conditions are the same and Arsenal will quickly recover in the next match, in fact Arsenal has a chance of getting 9 points in the next three matches because on paper their opponents are in a condition below Arsenal, while Liverpool will be quite tough because of their busy schedule because there will be two different trophies where they will play in the FA Cup and 2 league cup semifinal matches, so Klopp must be smart enough in rotating players so as not to lose points in the league matches which will benefit the teams under them.

I see all these praises showering on Arsenal as pointless, it is like praising the head when it is cut off, what a poor performance by the Gunners. You talked about the ball possession, shots on the net and all that, is that what football is actually rated for? I never for once doubted Arsenal against West Ham, but look at what they performed. And cheaply, they've helped West Ham to gain some points to move higher but let it be known to Arsenal, that they are getting closer to losing the trophy this time again just like they did last season. In my last post on this thread, I made it clear that as we shout the name of Arsenal, in practice, we should know that they can disappoint at the same time because it is when you hail them that they fuck up the most. I am not new to that. The 0-2 against them in their home is no excuse if I must say and their fruitless attempts to score are nothing to me either even as they score nothing at all.

I knew that Liverpool would climb up one way or the other as it is now, I believe they will be more serious and are a good contender that can lift the cup this season. Man City is another threat here, they are now moving up gradually, and when other clubs lose, they get to take advantage as Man City often gets serious when they are lagging behind. This is the time, and I know that they will hardly lose any of their subsequent matches in the near future. That is why the likes of Arsenal, Aston Villa and Liverpool should be very careful and up and doing, this is no more the time that a cheap match is being wasted as Arsenal did, and the opportunity wasted can never be regained, another 3 points missed. The loss of Aston Villa was quite understandable among the top clubs on the table, I knew that it would be a tough match for them when they faced Man U, and you can see what happened. Man U is not that club that will be easily defeated by Aston Villa in their home, not especially when they are taking the match seriously. But going forward, the first 3 clubs do not have many challenges to surmount, I think they should be using their next matches to their advantage, especially Liverpool and Arsenal, they need it.

I can feel what you feel above. Arsenal made my bet collapse, too. This is the main problem owned by the club when it faces the defensive club. Arsenal needs to put more training session on how to face the defensive club like that.
Arsenal performed so well in the match but attacking line makes it feel like the club didn't know what to do to break the defensive line of westham. At least the guinners showed us if the club has been working so hard but yeah it was not lucky enough in that game.
Westham got attacked many times but arsenal has not able scored against it. People shall not critize arteta caused by he has been doing his best. People shall think if gunners have made some golden chances but since it's all were missing and arsenal must finish the game with zero goal.

Like the previous season the Premier League title for Arsenal is still a mystery so it is not surprising why many people are quite doubtful when facing the final season making it a habit for them  to show less than good performances. We know that Liverpool and Man City are always aggressive when clubs like Arsenal are starting to falter, Arteta is still focused  on building a team by gathering young players. Maybe he would prefer to see Arsenal in the long term but if they are  unable to win the title Arteta will get a warning from the fans.

I am just coming on here for the first time since yesterday after watching the humiliating match between Arsenal and westham united.
Needless say that that match seem to be the worst match Arsenal have played in all the matches they have played all through this season, it's so disappointing and I could even bear to watch that match to the finish, those who read my comment here before this one will remember I made mention of placing a bet on that game, it's been a while since I last placed a bet on premiere league matches, so I actually did place a bet on Arsenal yesterday since I was kind of over confident that they would win the match, but unfortunately, they failed woefully, not even an attempt from them to try to win the match by atleast, scoring one goal.

I didn't think that Arsenal vs West Ham today match will lose by 2 goals. After West Ham player T. Souček scored the first goal in 13 minutes I was very worried because I bet in support of Arsenal team. Arsenal team players were wrong and  Arsenal team goalkeeper did not perform well today due to which Arsenal team lost the match.

I had so much faith in Arsenal at the beginning of the match, I was very optimistic about their performance Al through the first half of the match regardless of a few inconsistency shown, I was still saying to myself it's just the first half and there's still more time for Arsenal to be able to get back on their feet but they disappointed in the long run.

Even after west ham and their first goal, I still believed Arsenal was more than capable enough to be able to deliver, I expected that since the first half didn't looked so we'll hopefully by the second half Arsenal will have a comeback and will draw if it turns out worse but after the second goal and I observed Arsenal still had a dull performance, I concluded Arsenal was going to loose this match and it was Avery sad they couldn't secure a single goal from this match, this got my heart broken the more, currently Arsenal may likely fall back to struggling again.

If you look at the game from the start, I think everyone will think that Arsenal will win this match. Even if you don't watch the match and just look at the statistics throughout the match, I'm sure people will think Arsenal won this match. This is unlucky for Arsenal, because in terms of opportunities they have more opportunities, even they also control the game. I say West Ham is lucky in this match, can only create 6 attempts and can make 2 goals. While Arsenal they continuously attacked and 30 attempts they made, none of them could lead to goals.
With this result they failed to return to the top, and Livepool must be happy with what Arsenal achieved in this match because at least for now they are still safe at the top of the standings.

It would not be wrong for Arsenal fans to hope for better and higher this season because as you can see, Arsenal is also close to the team at the top of the standings at the moment. Meanwhile, Chelsea is still quite far behind Arsenal and Liverpool, so you shouldn't have too high hopes for Chelsea, but for Arsenal it is still quite logical that there are fans who hope for better things, even if it's not by recruiting new players in the transfer market this winter. Because new players still don't necessarily fit into Arsenal's current playing pattern.

My expectation was that Arsenal would win because they need the three points to get back the top spot in the league, but they are unable to defend their home. If West Ham not missed the penalty, the score would have ended in a 3:0 defeat for Arsenal. Liverpool is still leading the league right now.

Since Arsenal lost to West Ham at home, I believe that Manchester City still has a chance to win the league title this season. My initial thought was that, with new players joining the team, this season would be different from last season in that Manchester City would struggle to return to the top, but Arsenal still lost to earn three points.

It is very clear that Arsenal are in need of a sticker who can be scoring 20 goals and above each season if they are ever going to win the premier league again. The stricking department in the club is not producing. If they can get a good stricker by January they will have a chance of winning the league this season.

As for Spurs, they should be able to win even though it was an away game against Brighton, even though De Zerbi's men have not been very consistent in the last few matches and it looks like Ange's squad is unable to beat Brighton. Spurs had conceded 4 goals before Veliez and Davies reduced the score to 4-2. I understand even if Spurs lose that match, but for Arsenal it feels very unreasonable and like they don't have a winning mentality.

I honestly am not surprised that they both lost last night because these two have the habit of disappointing their fans when it most matters. Had Tottenham won last night they would have moved up from their 5th position and nestled at the 4th spot, pushing Man City back, whereas Arsenal would have taken back their place from Liverpool but what happened? They lost woefully to clubs that should naturally not pose a threat. The annoying part is that of Arsenal who had 30 shots on target but could not find the net, instead all Arteta could see to do was to blame VAR for making a wrong decision by awarding that first goal.
 Arsenal need a lot of good finishers because I've got to be honest, Gabriel Jesus isn't just cutting it, for me he performs better when he plays from the wing . Imagine him making silly mistakes and losing chances that should have seen them win the game comfortably, yet Arteta continues playing him as a striker. Another error Arteta seemed to commit was playing Zinchenko as a defender and I was asking myself what really was wrong with him yesterday.
 Truly, football is a sport filled with surprises but I was so not impressed with both Tottenham and Arsenal last night and if this is how they (the Gunners) hope to carry the title, they has better pull out now while it's still early. These two clubs showed that from their performance last night, they aren't fit to represent North London.

I don't think Arsenal is ready yet this season, Arteta needs to make improvements to his team if they want to win the title, as their current performance which includes not scoring a goal won't get them far. Arsenal is set to lose another trophy this season. They play the entire game, but West Ham is the only team scoring. I disagree with anyone who predicted that West Ham would defeat Arsenal. Arsenal failure to secure full points at home surprised everyone, many thought that Arteta squad could take over the top of the standings from Liverpool. However, the final result of the match said differently, West Ham emerged as winners and Arsenal became losers at the Emirates. There was a lot of backlash following the 2-0 loss to West Ham, questioning Arsenal strength in the trophy race, and comparing Arsenal to other title challenging clubs, all of which led to doubts that Arsenal would not be able to win silverware this season.

Man City is 5 points adrift of Liverpool at the top of the standings, while Arsenal is 3 points adrift, and Aston Villa is 2 points adrift. Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola squad has 37 points, and Man City still has one match postponed against Brentford. That means City opportunity to overtake Aston Villa and Arsenal is quite big in the future, if Liverpool slips too then Pep will bring City back to the top of the standings.

Maybe now Liverpool is worthy enough to  compete with Man City and prove who won the trophy.

Liverpool is definitely in the title race, what i like most about their title charge this season is how they have gone about it with little to no noise, at the start of the season everyone was looking at City and Arsenal only, and too many people were not giving Liverpool a chance at the title, maybe because of how bad they were last season. Having said that, Liverpool have proved that they can still challenge for the title, and yes they can win it, though imo City are my favorites to win the title and Liverpool would come second.
