Newcastle United paid Burnley £25 million to release the clause in his contract. Chris Wood is the most expensive transfer at 30 years old in Premier league history.

Was that the best Newcastle could do with the millions they have at their disposal?

Trippier was recently purchased by Newcastle and that signing makes sense because he is an experienced defender but with Wood it seems a desperate move to me. I am not sure he will be a good fit for the team and he is not a prolific goal scorer and that is what confuses me. Why would they rely on him to help them avoid relegation this season?

I think Wood makes perfect sense as a signing. Newcastle's only aim at the moment is to avoid relegation; nothing else matters. Here's the bottom of the table. There's a clear gap to 16th. It looks like the teams who will be relegated are any 3 from the bottom 4. It makes perfect sense for Newcastle to buy Burnley's star striker, even if he never plays a game, the purchase has weakened Burnley and increased the chance of Newcastle finishing above them. £25m is a lot, but the money doesn't matter to Newcastle, what matters is staying in the top division. You can either strengthen your own team or weaken your opponents, it amounts to the same thing.

The match between City and Chelsea done just now.  There only one goal but it was def a brilliant goal by KDB.  City are leading by 13 points while the next two clubs below it are somewhat struggling...  They’re running away with it.  But there’s nothing more satisfying for Pep than to win the UCL trophy.  It would be his only CL trophy outside of Barca.

As for bets, Norwich under .5 goals at 2.50.  That looks value imo.  Yeah sure it’s at home for Norwich and they’re due, but still...  Another interesting bet is double chance on Wolves or draw and BTTS no also at 2.50.

Today match was too dominated by manchester city, foden, grealish, bruyne and sterling managed to mess up the chelsea defense, in my opinion chelsea performance today was quite bad and even they did not have creativity in attacking and throughout the match chelsea were only able to release 2 shots and 1 on target, chelseagame today is really not like the game they did in the previous match.
Today victory further cements manchester city at the top of the standings with 56 points, and I think it looks like this season manchester city has locked the English league trophy into their possession, 13 points is a point difference that will be very impossible to catch up with liverpool and chelsea.

Sorry bro, it looks like you made a little mistake, the difference in points after today's match between Manchester City and Chelsea is only 13 points instead of 16points, I don't think you want to make Chelsea and Liverpool fans even more desperate seeing their favorite team will find it difficult to overtake Manchester City in this season .

Wolves continue to impress under their new manager and are doing well.

The bottom of the table looks interesting now with Newcastle should have own but managed just a draw at home against fellow strugglers Watford when they conceded an equaliser with just 2 minutes of the 90 minutes remaining.

In a massive surprise bottom of the table Norwich managed a win against Everton which in turn put pressure on Newcastle as Norwich leapfrog them to go third from bottom. Burnley sit bottom of the table with 11 points followed by Newcastle on 12 points.

Chelsea defense was so successful that they were able to keep them away nicely most of the time. But Manchester City really suffocated them and finally found the winning goal. De Bruyne's strike was so great that Kepa tried his best but couldn't save it. After that, Chelsea made an effort to equalize the score but it was in vain. Now I can say that Manchester City would be the champions for sure.

Seems MU has changed the formation today that looks effective with 2 goals from Bruno Fernandes, but the situation turns into a nightmare, his goal is not giving the winning and impressed in vain. MU has too many chances but can't convert to goals, Maybe they miss Ronaldo or the defense is not good to guard a new player (Coutinho) which shows us Gerard has successfully brought that guy. We can't hope too much MU on Top stand this session.

I totally agree with you’ll because Manchester City are playing a whole different level of football, and even Tuchel with his best tactics couldn’t stop them, hence we can officially conclude that the race for the title is over and now all that’s left is to play for the champions league and Europa league spots.

Lastly if West Ham drop out of champions league spot then it’ll be a huge disappointment for me, because they totally deserve to play in champions league.

I regret to say that but the Tottenham - Arsenal match has been postponed. It was going to be a great match if it was played. I'm still looking forward to watching it later. And as for the match last night between Aston Villa and Manchester United, I think that Manchester United missed a huge opportunity to win. They were showing a fascinating performance. But they still couldn't protect their 2-0 advantage. Aston Villa somehow made the comeback and drew with them by 2-2. And it was nice to see Coutinho scoring in his first match also.

Yes, I agree with you. I really hope he has a fantastic time at Villa. I am confident that Stevie G is going to bring out the best in him. I think the premier league is best suited for Coutinho. He's going to, I imagine at least, get a good amount of game time for Villa, so he has a chance to show the world that he's still capable of good things and he's not just a loan worthy player.

Good game for klopp and the Liverpool team, getting all three points and closing the gap with Manchester city to just 11 points, if there is still any possibility that any team can meet up and overtake Manchester city, i think it is only Liverpool right now in the whole league. Firmino adds a spice to this Liverpool side, very selfless player, he is an invaluable addition to the team, still happy to see that the team is still doing well without Salah and Mane.

The match between liferpol versus brenfrod has just ended, although in the first leg liferpol was held to a draw by brenfrod but at this meeting, liferpol managed to beat brenfrod with a score of 3-0, liferpol also managed to dominate the game, the first goal was scored by jota in the first half , in the second half it was chamberlind's turn who added a goal bag for lifepol, minamino who was entered to replace chamberlind managed to add a goal to 3-0, took advantage of a pass error made by goalkeeper brenford, was successfully stolen by firmino, i was very impressed with firmino Even though he had a chance to score, Firmino preferred to pass the ball to Minamino, the final score remained 3-0 until the final whistle sounded..

Brentford really can't do much in today's match against Liverpool. After experiencing some disappointing results in 3 match in a row, Liverpool managed to prove today that they are going back into the title race with Manchester City. Now Liverpool's point difference with Manchester City is only 11 and Liverpool still have 1 match to go to make it 8 "if win". I think it was a good win for Liverpool, but for sure they are still difficult to surpass Manchester City.

Actually I didn't get to watch this match although I could read some comments that Liverpool had a good game. So I'm not going to say much about this match, but it's a good win for Liverpool.

Liverpool swept past Brentford but even though they are in 2nd place in the Premier League table they are 11 points behind 1st placed Manchester City. Liverpool have one game in hand which means they could go 8 points behind if they win it but Manchester City seem certain to win the title again but anything could happen with around 16 games of the season remaining to be played.

West Ham stay in 4th but failed to strengthen their position in the Premier League table by failing to take any points from Leeds who are 15th and 9 points above the relegation zone.
