Lol Maybe I'm overreacting, but Abramovich had trouble renewing his UK visa and was barred from living in the UK prior to the Russia-Ukraine conflict; from what I've heard, he was only entering the UK on an Israeli visa. Regrettably, instead of going to Ukraine victims, the UK will benefit from the club sales now.

Abramovich never stated proceeds from any sale of Chelsea would be donated to Ukrainians affected by the conflict, he kept that part open for interpretation as was picked up by the media therefore it was assumed both Ukrainians as well Russians soldiers and their families affected by the conflict would receive funds from the sale of Chelsea.

He tried to avoid the UK government keeping all the funds instead of providing them to the war victims in his official statement when he put the club up for sale, and I quote below.

The sale of the Club will not be fast-tracked but will follow due process. I will not be asking for any loans to be repaid. This has never been about business nor money for me, but about pure passion for the game and Club. Moreover, I have instructed my team to set up a charitable foundation where all net proceeds from the sale will be donated. The foundation will be for the benefit of all victims of the war in Ukraine. This includes providing critical funds towards the urgent and immediate needs of victims, as well as supporting the long-term work of recovery.

As for the funds from the sale of Chelsea being kept by the UK government rather than Abramovich donating the sale proceeds, this is probably not correct as the UK government stated they would donate the proceeds of the sale to Ukraine (probably to the Ukrainian government).

They never made an official declaration about donating the money to the Ukrainians; instead, they just declared that no penny from the sales should go to Abramovich or the Russians in any form, but he still gave the UK government permission to continue with the club sales. When you're too close to the wrong gangs, you have to pay the price.

Chelsea 1-4 Brentford

Leeds United 1-1 Southampton

Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-1 Aston Villa

Liverpool actually went to the top of the Premier League table after beating Watford at home although very briefly because Manchester City won their match against Burnley away.

What exactly happened to Chelsea when they were thrashed by Brentford?

Manchester United are at home to Leicester City and the game is currently 0-0 at half-time.

I have no idea why we lost that!! It was crazy, we struggled to get a goal and when we did, we let in four goals in 10 minutes, I feel bad for Rudiger, that goal was too good to come in a game like this, but history seems to want to repeat itself, we lost 5-2 to Westbrom at this time last season after the international match before the first leg of the champions league game and went on to win the champions league... Yes, its coming home!!!

I try to delete spam or low quality posts and those from members on my ignore list and those I left negative trust for. I think I made a couple of mistakes here and there but most of the posts that were deleted clearly deserved to be removed.

Regarding Chelsea, it was a complete capitulation of them as a team and their spirits as they went from being 1-0 up to losing the game 1-4. It was a stunning display by Brentford but Chelsea really have only themselves to blame for losing a crucial game as they try to hold on to 3rd place in the premier league table.

Manchester United finished their game with Leicester City 1-1 and have just a small chance of catching Arsenal or Tottenham as they fight for the 4th spot finish.

The good news coming from my club is that Captain Apzi will be staying for another year. Everton's biggest mistake was hiring Frank Lampard, the set of players in Everton is too difficult to motivate, they needed someone with a lot of experience to manage the team, Lampard is not tactically gifted, he's always easy to predict, he barely changes his line up, he doesn't develop players, he only uses them until they get tired, too bad for Everton, they've been in this situation since Ancelloti left the club.

Newcastle United stopped playing as soon as they scored the first goal, as was the case in the Chelsea-Brentford game yesterday; it was a terrific second half from Tottenham, and based on how the game was going, I anticipated them to win, but I never expected such a high scoreline.

I think it is too late for Manchester United to qualify for the Champions League, they will probably not finish 4th because momentum is with Arsenal and Tottenham.

Not to mention West Ham, who are also vying for a place in the Champions League.

Yeah I agree with you, Manchester United has already lost their  confidence in playing as a team, it shows in their recent performance. They have failed as a team, there draw against Leicester city was one of their best opportunity to see if they can qualify for champions league next season, but it seems the red devil's are losing the qualification.

Tottenham has moved to 4th position in the premier league table for the beautiful victory they achieved from Newcastle.  Newcastle embraced their opportunity to achieved first goal that made Tottenham players to handle the game very well to eliminate Newcastle 1-5. Tottenham coach is really doing a great job in Tottenham team in this season, The team is really demonstrating positive impact in this tournament.

Chelsea had the opportunity to lead the match in the first half which was giving people hope that they will maintain the 1 goal till the end of the match. But it was a great surprised to fans for Brentford to equalize the goal and still added more 3 goals to defeated Chelsea 1-4

Chelsea's defeat by Brentford was a huge disgrace and came unexpected to most football fans. It was shocking indeed but, looking at Chelsea's stands at the league now, there is little that could be done to the position in the 3rd place on the league table.

Tottenham was another team that produced a good performance with Newcastle United after winning a 5 goals to 1 victory and are now in the 4th place.

As for Kane, he really needs to move on now. He tried his best for Tottenham and stayed loyal to them therefore no Spurs fan would begrudge him a move to a bigger club, he is now 28 years old after all. If he was allowed to join Manchester City it would have netted Tottenham around £150 million but their Chairman Levy did not sell.

He is contracted to play for Tottenham until 2024 so they need to sell him at the end of this season to make a massive multi-million income otherwise his value drops when gets closer to 30+ years old. He could also win down his contract and just walk away on a free transfer in 2024 when he will be 30 years old and make a huge multi-million signing on fee with huge weekly salary for himself while Spurs receive nothing.

I agree with you, he does not fight the club ethos and he himself has proven to be an unsuccessful manager but it was a lot for both Benitez and now Lampard to live up to after Ancelotti departed to return to Madrid.

The difference is financially Manchester United are able to continue financially without much effect whereas Tottenham need funds to spend on incoming players. I am not so sure about Levy preferring Kane to stay until his contract winds down.

Yeah, that one really surprised me. I had Arsenal as a nailed-on certainty for a top four finish, but now I'm not so sure. And the players will be questioning themselves, too. This will certainly put a dent in their confidence, and there's a chance it will affect them in their next game. This result coupled with that huge Spurs win vs Newcastle does change things a bit. Can Tottenham now hold onto that fourth spot? They do have +5 goal difference on Arsenal now, too.

I thought the same thing, but Chelsea was in trouble when Sarri left, and with the transfer ban, no coach was ready to take the job, so it went to Lampard instead, and as a dream job, he couldn't turn down the chance to manage the club he loves so much; if he knew it would be difficult, he would have stayed at Derby County for another season to gain more experience; he was a one-season wonder, and everyone thought he was the right man for the job

Daniel Levy always behaves like an Arab, they see everything as a gamble, now PSG owner is about to lose Mpabbe who is worth €200m in the current market value for refusing to accept a bid from Real Madrid when they came knocking knowing that Mbappe had only 1 year left on his contract, sometimes I blame the people in charge of players contract, a more serious club would never allow a player to enter the last 2 years of his contract,

Chelsea made the same error with Christainsen and Rudiger, and now they have lost Christainsen for free at 25 and may as well lose Rudiger.

Daniel Levy should set the £150 million price tag and walk away with the money, invest in the club, and rebuild. Aston Villa walked away with a £100 million profit from Grealish sales, invested in new players, and are performing far better than they were last season when he was there.

I am sure Arsenal thought they would win the game against Palace last night but it must be bitter sweet for Palace manager Vieira because he was a legend as an Arsenal player.

As I mentioned earlier it is getting very tight in the fight for the 4th spot. It is too difficult to say what will happen because Manchester United and West Ham United are still challenging Arsenal and Tottenham. Maybe you are right, maybe goal difference will play a major part in this.

Believe if i say Everton itself is danger, they have failed to pick up points in their easy run of games, now they get to face chelsea, mufc, liverpool and leicester out of their remaining games. I do not see them escaping the drop down to championship this season. A team facing a run up of games with top teams, struggling to score goals from open play, cant defend. its a big mess for Everton
