One thing about Haaland, he looked lost playing for Manchester City and even missed an open goal from just 3 yards which would have made it 3-2 and made the final couple of minutes exciting. Liverpool new signing Nunez on the other hand did very well including scoring and getting the penalty. Quite accurate, the truth about the matter is Haaland is under much pressure to perform than Nunez, Nunez has Mo Salah to rescue the game if he isn't having a great game but who does Manchester city have, they mostly have creators than finsihers which puts pressure on Haaland to deliver and the media has its role to play as the camera would always be pointed at Haaland than Nunez. Manchester City have a midfield full of players that can turn a game around and support their strikers but they do not have anyone up front that can assist Haaland when he misses chances. I fear this move to the Premier League might be a disaster for Haaland and a very expensive mistake for Manchester City because ultimately he will be judged on goals scored. If he scored 20+ goals in the Premier League he will be considered a success regardless of whether Manchester City win anything or not. But I think Liverpool have started missing the impact of Sadio Mané but it seems Luis Diaz is not doing a bad job. But that creative and sharp runs from Mane is really missing. Luis Diasz doesn't have Mane's physicality as such won't be a direct replacement of Sadio Mane. He could do other things but those sharp runs and tackles that Mane brings to Liverpool attack would be missed as we're already noticing. Mane never gets tired and hardly get injuries. Lets watch to see what Luis Diaz can offer. Diaz has the potential to be a cult hero at Anfield, he can bring his own style to the game but he has played zero Premier League games to date therefore has to build his reputation from scratch. Mane was carrying out a fundamental role week in week out for Liverpool and he was instrumental in their success. As the season goes on Klopp along with Liverpool players and fans will miss Mane and his loss will only be fully felt if Liverpool fail to win any trophies this season.

If he scored 20+ goals in the Premier League he will be considered a success regardless of whether Manchester City win anything or not. I have to say this was unexpected. He was supposed to be the savior of Manchester City. Manchester City did not have a reliable attacking lineup in the last season. So they got Erling Haaland and he is in the team for only one reason, to score goals. I don’t think 20+ is going to be a particularly high score for him. He should be at least in his 30s. Then if Manchester City wins or loses, it doesn’t matter. If Erling Haaland scores 20+ goals and Manchester City wins, that should not have any negative impact on him. However, if he scores 20+ something goals and Manchester City is not able to win anything, that is liable to cause a lot of fingers to be pointed at them.

This seemed strange at first, and I can't believe the EPL season is only a few days away!! I'm already excited, and I'm hoping that my team can complete all pending deals before the start of the season on Friday, the deadline for EPL transfer season. I'm betting on Arsenal to win the first game against Crystal Palace at 1.77 odds. They had a good preseason game, so hopefully they don't screw up again.

I know the feeling, it is a mixture of excitement and happiness What will happen during this season in November will be unique because the season will be broken off for the FIFA World Cup tournament which will kick-off in Qatar. Some players might travel carrying injuries and others might be fully fit when they arrive in Qatar but might get injured for their clubs when they return back to the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and so on... This will be a footballing season like no other before it. This seemed strange at first, and I can't believe the EPL season is only a few days away!! It's going to be a very intense few months before the world up break, as the players will try their hardest to make it to the world cup while also avoiding injury. Which EPL team has so far impressed you In the transfer market? And what are your thoughts on the first round of fixtures

Those are excellent predictions, though I am not overly optimistic about our game against Everton; our attack is still lacking a killer striker, and we have been so focused on our defense that our midfield and attack have suffered as a result. For this first round, I'm betting on Arsenal and Tottenham to win both games. The first round is always a mess, and I see Manchester United losing and Chelsea drawing 1-1. You put so much faith in Bournemouth against tenacious Aston Villa? Hhhhmmm. Friday 5th August Crystal palace 2-1 Arsenal
Do you really think Arsenal will lose the first game of the season? I believe that this season, what happened last season will not happen. Arsenal are much better, and I think they will be fighting for the top spots in the standings since the beginning of the season.

Well , I think Arsenal will march towards this season with full speed and I don't see them losing their opening game. There is a tale in football that you're last friendly game will show the face of the team for the beginning of the season and if that's true ...well ...Arsenal will fight for top 3 without any doubts. This weekend should tell the truth for so many teams , including Man Utd.

Which EPL team has so far impressed you In the transfer market? It is difficult to single one team out that has impressed in the transfer market but Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have invested well by targeting players that they feel will strengthen their sides. Spurs have signed six players. They purchased three players including Richarlison and Bissouma and signed three others on free. Nottingham Forest have signed 12 players including Lingard for free. You put so much faith in Bournemouth against tenacious Aston Villa? Hhhhmmm. It is the new season, Bournemouth will come out playing attacking football they played in the Championship before getting promoted at the end of last season. Aston Villa will not be expecting it...

ImhoIf I were to score based on transfer activities, I believe Manchester United and Chelsea are still behind the other top five teams. Chelsea had some of their targets snatched away by Barcelona, while Manchester United has been waiting for FDJ for almost a month now since they agreed €85m with Barcelona last month, and they appear to be the only two clubs still active in the market. Chelsea have signed 18-year-old Chukwuemeka from Aston Villa, bid £50 million for Cucurella, and are in direct talks with Barcelona to hijack the FDJ deal in the last 24 hours. It's going to be a hectic few days leading up to the official start. Still wondering how Forest were able to sign 12 players in a one single window. That's crazy. You put so much faith in Bournemouth against tenacious Aston Villa? Hhhhmmm. It is the new season, Bournemouth will come out playing attacking football they played in the Championship before getting promoted at the end of last season. Aston Villa will not be expecting it... I hope you are right, well I will keep my finger crossed.

This is a full list of Nottingham Forest incoming transfers: Taiwo Awoniyi [Union Berlin] £17.5m
Neco Williams [Liverpool] £17m
Giulian Biancone [Troyes] £5m

Ryan Hammond [Millwall] Free
Omar Richards [Bayern Munich] Undisclosed
Harry Toffolo [Huddersfield Town] Undisclosed
Lewis O’Brien [Huddersfield Town] Undisclosed
Dean Henderson [Manchester United] Loan
Moussa Niakhate [Mainz] Undisclosed
Brandon Aguilera [Alajuelense] Undisclosed
Wayne Hennessey [Burnley] FreeThe manager will have his hands full trying to make these new 12 players as well as the players he did not move on after they achieved promotion at the end of last season. Bringing in so many players in one go is a huge risk for a newly promoted team. As for you asking how they managed to do it, it is easy they will pay Lingard £200,000 per week and then got rid of the following players and cut their wage bill: Tyrese Fornah [Reading] Loan Ethan Horvath [Luton] Loan Will Swan [Mansfield] Loan Tobias Figueiredo [Released] Carl Jenkinson [Released] Gaetan Bong [Released] Marcelo Valencia [Released] Josh Barnes [Released] Lewis Grabban [Released] Baba Fernandes [Released] Sam Sanders [Released] Morgan Thomas-Sadler [Released] Joe Watkins [Released] Mohamed Drager [FC Luzern] Loan Jayden Richardson [Aberdeen] Undisclosed Brice Samba [Lens] Undisclosed Will Swan [Mansfield] Loan Fin Back [Carlisle] Loan Jonathan Panzo [Coventry] Loan Riley Harbottle [Mansfield] Loan Brandon Aguilera [Guanacasteca] Loan Nicholas Ioannou [Como] Undisclosed Which EPL team has so far impressed you In the transfer market? It is difficult to single one team out that has impressed in the transfer market but Chelsea, Tottenham, Manchester City, Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal have invested well by targeting players that they feel will strengthen their sides. Spurs have signed six players. They purchased three players including Richarlison and Bissouma and signed three others on free. Nottingham Forest have signed 12 players including Lingard for free.

Based on the performance of each team's transfers, I would say that Arsenal has been the most successful club in this regard. Arsenal made some big changes in the team and they have also started playing very well. In the preseason friendly matches, they have played very dominating football. I have to say I have not been very impressed with Erling Haaland. At least not so far. I know he’s a competent player but it feels like he will take a period of time to get settled in the team. And I have to talk about Barcelona. They have made some controversial decisions. But at the same time, they have also made sure that they get one of the finest squads. I am quite sure that they will give Real Madrid a very serious fight for the La Liga title.

Is it a good idea to release nearly 80% of the team that brought them to the Premier League? Essentially, the manager will be working with a brand new team, and it may take some time for them to adjust, particularly the Bundesliga players. I watched the championship playoff final and saw a very young and brilliant team; it's incredibly sad that the majority of them were unable to realize their dream of playing in the Premier League. Fulham and QPR both made similar mistakes in the past, which did not end well for them. I have to say I have not been very impressed with Erling Haaland. At least not so far. I know he’s a competent player but it feels like he will take a period of time to get settled in the team. It's too early to judge him, do that after 15 games because the league hasn't started yet, he's new to the league and environment, and you don't expect him to start on a high note in his first game because strikers from the Bundesliga typically struggle to adapt to the intensity of the league quickly. It'd take some time. And I have to talk about Barcelona. They have made some controversial decisions. But at the same time, they have also made sure that they get one of the finest squads. You can discuss Barcelona on the Laliga thread.

I believe that three teams transfers stand out for me 1) Manchester City who won the league last season without a known a striker, and immediately got Halland, 2) Arsenal who bought clever player’s and 3) Tottenham who’s spending has surprised me a lot, but have to admit that they have bought quality player’s. Lastly I’m concerned for Manchester United because I feel that Ronaldo and De Jong issues will derail our campaign, and it’ll be nothing less than a miracle if we make it to the top 4.

I have to say I have not been very impressed with Erling Haaland. At least not so far. I know he’s a competent player but it feels like he will take a period of time to get settled in the team. He has played just one game for Manchester City, that was the opening game of the season with them playing Liverpool in the Community Shield. The Premier League kicks-off this weekend, let us comment on Haaland after he has played a few games, he needs time to adjust to the Premier League. Is it a good idea to release nearly 80% of the team that brought them to the Premier League? Well, several of those players were not regulars, they needed to lower their wage bill in order to bring so many players in such as Lingard who they signed on a 1 year contract for £200,00 per week. Maybe Manchester United have been distracted by the Ronaldo and De Jong saga but I am not sure I agree about them not finishing in the top 4 because Ten Hag has started to stamp his authority all over the team and they are looking like a group of players that want to play for their manager. Arsenal and Tottenham have done well in their transfers but so have Liverpool and Manchester City and even Manchester United and West Ham. It will be interesting to see how the top 10 ends before the players depart for the World Cup. That will give an indication of which teams have made progress thanks to their new players.

If you look at the purchases this season, of course we think Arsenal will be much better than last season, and it looks like Arsenal will not lose in the first game, indeed the results from the pre-season can not be used as a parameter but at least it shows a positive result
So I think that in today's game, Arsenal should win the game with a difference of 1 or 2 goals. Perhaps Crystal Palace can even score a goal, and make life difficult for Arsenal. Even so, I believe that victory will not escape the Gunners.

It'd take some time. We have seen some disasters happen. Especially when players from the Italian league come to play in the English Premier League with high expectations. They did not do very well. I hope this won't be one of the disasters. He is a talented player but I think he needs time to get settled and used to the English Premier League coming from the Bundesliga. Haaland's move to Manchester United has not worked out very well yet. He has been missing really easy chances. If he does not score goals he has no use in the team. Arsenal is absolutely destroying every team that they are facing, at least in the preseason. I hope they will be able to do the same in the English Premier League as well. The situation in Tottenham is really interesting. They have brought in talented players but I am not sure that they will be able to improve their performance. At least not at the level of Arsenal. The most impressive performance so far has come from Arsenal. It is amazing to see how everyone is supporting Haaland in this situation. For some reason I feel like the Manchester City fans, and also the English Premier League fans in general are very educated and understandable. The play style of the English Premier League and Bundesliga is vastly different. So, it is understandable if he is unable to play well right from the start. I think he will be able to make a comeback and show why he is worth so much money.
