I think Ivan Toney is a top player, if he leaves Brentford though surely he can attract interest from a big PL club. I think he’s probably too young to go to Saudi Arabia.

Arsenal need a goalscoring CF, I’m surprised they haven’t showed an interest.

If Toney moves outside of the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga and Serie A he will probably never play for England again therefore he will keep that in mind.

Also, the latest reports suggest Chelsea and Manchester United are interested in signing him on loan. It seems this will continue for a little longer until we understand where his career takes him.

There is no single interest from the PL club at the moment. Tottenham were the only club who made contact but chose Solanke instead. As I previously stated, he hasn't been cleared of gambling allegations yet and may face more extended punishment, which is why no major club is interested. Aside from being a good player, I've heard that his attitude isn't as good as we see, and Brentford isn't willing to lower his release clause.

Anyway, what do you guys think of Man United vs Fulham this weekend?  I feel like Man U loses their first match or ends in a draw. 

Mid-week games are always tough and unpredictable but I'm looking at a boring 1st half and a goal fest in the second half so I would literally go with 2nd Half GG @2.45

Ivan Toney to Saudi Arabia..?  Oof.  He's still in his prime.  Pretty sure there are clubs in other leagues in Europe who could use his talents.  But for the 60 GBP price tag Brentford is asking for him, I think that's a bit too much.  I mean he's good but for 60m GBP, pretty sure there are better options.

Saudi Arabia might be the only possible destination if Brentford insist on that price. The last time I remember Chelsea being interested in Ivan Toney earlier this year but all of a sudden there was no news coming again. If he isn't yet completely cleared of his gambling allegations then he should just take himself to the Saudis for retirement because no club will want to associate with a gambler that might corrupt other squad members.

I beg to differ, Manchester united has a good record against Fulham as they should. Lets give them the benefit of doubt, it's the start of the season so the players should be fresh and willing to win. There are other games that they're going to give us something to mock them about but for this one, it pains me to say but united for the win. It's going to be a close one though.

From what I recall Arsenal did show a very serious interest but for one reason or another it has cooled. I cannot see him going there to play under a manager (Arteta) that has a harmonious squad on the verge of winning the Premier League. At 28 years old he should be playing at a top club because of the potential he has but again, he had severe gambling issues and maybe managers prefer to not buy him for that reason. Rumours about him going out on loan are still persisting.

I think it will probably be very tight but Manchester United could win 1-0 or 2-1.

His market value is 50 million but Brentford placed a hundred million price tag on him, nobody is paying that amount for Toney. He's a 28-year-old striker whose best season was in the championship, he has done nothing to cost that much. He hasn't led his team to a major trophy and he's not young. He surely cannot be considered one of the strikers in the world, he's not even among the top 10 best strikers in the world so which club would buy him for 100 million except Saudi Arabian clubs? To be honest, I doubt Saudi Arabian clubs will buy him that much because they spend that kind of money on players who have made an impact in football, players that can boost the popularity of their league, I'm afraid Toney doesn't have that.

I'm really happy to see that we'll have some PL action in less than 24hrs from now. As much as I enjoyed the Euro 2024 and the Olympics, nothing beats the classic weekend matches in the Premier league.

Some thoughts on the first game — Man Utd vs Fulham.

Man Utd is playing at home and would definitely win it. It's the first game of the season and they're just coming from from a 0-3 thrashing by Liverpool in preseason USA tour game and a community shield loss to City last weekend. Easy win imo.

As a club, Brentford have placed a £60 million valuation on Toney (not £100 million). Clearly the price has not attracted a club to the player because any interested party would probably want to first pay less and second integrate a player with less negative history as Toney. It seems his gambling addiction issues will play a part when managers and club owners consider him as an option.

If he was a proven goalscorer with a highly respectable goals per game ratio or if he was given time at Euro 24 and managed to excel on the pitch, he probably would have been sold by now or moved on to a loan deal.
