If Chelsea lose at Fulham on Thursday it will be difficult for Potter to convince fans he is the right person for the job. If they then lose at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday the person laughing loudest has to be Tuchel who was dismissed from his job by the new owners in what appears to have been a massive error. Tuchel looked as though he had lost the dressing room but still could have turned things around. The new owners said Potter was a long term appointment and no matter what happened he would not be sacked this season.

The facts are this season Chelsea have been beaten in the Premier League and knocked out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup by Manchester City and are (on current form) looking like they will finish the season in 8th or 9th position.

The problem with Chelsea now is not just Coach, Chelsea really need to work on their defense line, the pairing of Koulibaly and Thiago Silver is really a big problem considering Silver’s age. If care is not taken Tuchel might end up staying longer than Potter and i think the Absence of Ngolo Kante at the mid field is also a problem to the team. Therefore Chelsea board needs to look into their defense line and take some decisions.

Manchester City are of course the favoured side for the win. But I don't think this match would be too easy for them. Because Manchester United have had a really good form in the league recently. In addition to that they have had successful matches against big teams in Old Trafford as well. They even defeated the current leader of the league there. Guardiola needs to make his players well-prepared for this matchup. Chelsea already surprised them in their previous match by showing a good performance for some time. Manchester United can do better than that.

Yea a point is better than none, so up next is a London derby with Tottenham, many things are at stake in this match dropping further points in this game will see Manchester city close in on them at the top of the table, it's a derby so let's not forget about the bragging rights in London is also at stake and Arsenal are away haven won the reverse fixture last year at the Emirate stadium.
It's going to be s hard one for arsenal as Tottenham won't be an easy ride for table topping arsenal, I think they will settle for a draw as I don't see arsenal going with all three points.

With any derby game, there is so much more than points at stake. Reputation, bragging rights and pride take priority therefore even the underdog comes out on top regularly. In the case of the North London derby, it will be a tough one to call but Arsenal have momentum on their side.

They need an overhaul in defence. They need young players coming through the ranks or they need to buy big to try to control the damage their defence is causing. They are not exactly scoring goals for fun either and their midfield has not been solid. Chelsea are in big trouble.

@JollyGood Potter was never going to be an instant fix, however he could perform well if he’s given some more time at the club but I can understand that as a new owner and he wants to retain the fan’s on his side hence he may sack Potter just to please the fan's.

Furthermore Poch is rumoured to be ready to take over if Potter is sacked, and I won’t be surprised if the fan’s already start singing Poch name to put more pressure on the new owner to sack Potter and bring Poch to Chelsea as their new head coach.

Yes, sacking Thomas Tuchel was a very wrong decision and Chelsea are suffering for it, Graham potter lacks the experience of guiding this Chelsea side to a top four finish and that's prove to be true looking at the league table, Chelsea sits 10th and out of both FA cup and league cup,  Chelsea are not good at giving coaches the luxury of time to fix things and soon the call for Potter's exit will be all over Stanford bridge, unless this new owners decides to do otherwise, and Chelsea continuing like this won't give them a good ending because the teams above them are looking stronger and gaining points, so overtaking them won't be very easy for Chelsea

IMHO, it's certainly shaping up to be an exciting weekend of Premier League matches, and you bring up plenty valid points about Chelsea's current situation. If Chelsea does lose at Fulham on Thursday, it will be an extremly difficult situation for Graham Potter to convince the fans (many of whom are still mourning Tuchel's departure) and of course the rest of the club that he will be able to turn things at Chelsea around.

And if they then really lose at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday, it would certainly bring up new questions about the decision to let Tuchel go (as an Austrian who only partly follows the Premier League, I never understood why they sacked Tuchel in the first place, LOL).

However we should keep in mind, that the season is not over yet and there's still a chance for the coach to turn things around and make a comeback. They are currently 10 points away from the CL spots, it's now or never if they want it not to be a lost season.

What a time for Chelsea to play again in an attempt to finally get some points and close the gap in their chase of a top four spot. If Fulham win tonight (and they are very much capable of doing it), Chelsea will feel immense pressure and Potter will probably be unable to turn things around. An away game at local rivals Fulham is not what Chelsea wanted but this is part of the process. If Chelsea win they move up to 8th in the table and if Fulham win they move up to a very respectable 6th position.

One of the advantages of seeing Chelsea and Liverpool play consistently bad football this season is that other teams are involved in fighting for a top four finish which the big clubs took for granted over many years. Arsenal and Newcastle United will try to join Manchester City in the Champions League next season and if they finish in the top 3 it leaves only one other place up for grabs which Manchester United, Tottenham, Liverpool, Fulham and Chelsea are chasing. It makes it more attractive to watch this type of season rather the 'normal' ones where things unfold without surprise.

I think most Chelsea fans would be chanting the name of former manager Tuchel rather than chant for present manager Potter and you cannot blame them.

It really does get worse for Chelsea. They were beaten 2-1 away at Fulham and Felix was sent off on his debut. Fulham have now won their previous four consecutive Premier League games and lost 2 before that whereas Chelsea have lost four of the last six and won just one. The table does not lie, Chelsea are facing a mid-table finish to the season if they do not start accumulating points.

I can't believe Chelsea would be in their worst form this season, -- to a point that gaining a suitable space in the top five is already built with a strong uncertainty -- just take a quick, logical look at thier points and goal difference, is it probably worth the time, energy and mental stress at all? Cus, like it or not -- when you're losing more, you begin to get nervous -- most especially when you can't really tell what the problem is.
Fulham never had an advantage on the premier league table over Chelsea -- atleast not for too long.. the question I've got in mind is: does it mean that a team begins to get weird with time due to whatever reasons it might be? Cus Nottingham forest was once great, but I'm afraid they can only stand to attest on those legacies alone -- nothing is done today for the future.

Man, what a disappointment for Chelsea last night (can you also hear Thomas Tuchel laughing somewhere?). 

I had a feeling they would pull it off but it looks like I was wrong (I placed one of my freebets I recently won on Chelsea yesterday, yikesss). Losing to Fulham and Felix getting sent off on his debut, it's not the start of the 2nd half of the season the team and the fans were hoping for. And with Fulham on a winning streak and Chelsea struggling lately, it was clear that they needed to step up their game. But, they didn't. Things are getting tough now.

You're right, as for the Premier League table, it's not looking good for Chelsea right now. A Champions League or even Europe League finish is getting more and more unlikely if they don't start racking up the points anytime soon. It's pretty frustrating to see them not performing up to their potential tbh. No clue if its the coach, the players or all combined by now.

Maybe next time I'll just have to bet against Chelsea, then maybe they will win.

Emery is doing his best to help Aston Villa recover and climb the positions. His history with Aston Villa so far is not bad actually - 3W, 1D, 1L. They had a really nice win against a team like Manchester United as well.

Tonight they are playing against Leeds in a match home. Leeds can be considered as a tough opponent for them when we take the places of these teams into account. Leeds are out-of-form for four weeks though. They haven't got a win in the meantime. I'm pretty sure they will do their best to win this match by benefiting from their capability at scoring. But I still believe in Aston Villa to beat them here.

Instead of sacking the manager, Todd Boehly has stepped in to reduce the players' power. The club plans to terminate the contracts of some of the underperforming players and allow the coach to build a good team. This is the best news I've heard in a long time; we can no longer let players decide our managers' futures; it's time for the manager to decide who stays and who goes.
