^  Weird, I seem to remember that it was Liverpool 0 - 2 at the first half and wenr out right after the second goal.  Didn't care to see the results and I'm surprised to see it's 1 - 1.  I remember Dias getting the first goal then Salah next.

Anyway from the few highlights I saw, looks like it's gonna be a tough season for Tottenham, Haaland looks like he's gonna be +EV as anytime goal scorer and Brentford could be hard to beat at home.

Salah did put the ball in the back of the net after a slick move but after the goal check he was shown to be marginally off-side therefore it was disallowed.

Chelsea played well, it was their first game in charge for new manager Pochettino but I was surprised by how strong Liverpool looked when they were in the final third of the pitch. Salah looked as though he was playing with a renewed desire rather than lazily while collecting his weekly pay.

As for Tottenham, they were always going to have a tough time without Kane being their talisman. I cannot see them finishing in the top five again this season.

^  Ah, that sucks.  That prolly could have caused Liverpool's adrenaline dump as I was told that they were not the same after Disasi's goal.  And which I also heard Disasi could be one of the most underrated signings of the summer...  We'll see.

And let's see how these two get back at the top of the table after having a terrible year last season.  :/

For the upcoming weekend, what do you guys think of BTTS and over 2.5 combo for Fulham vs Brentford?  Fulham scored at least of couple of goals against Brentford in their last 3.  And Brentford scored at least two goals vs Fulham in their last 4.  

And I'll prolly do the same bet for the Spurs vs United match.

There was one game played yesterday: Nottingham Forest 2-1 Sheffield United . It looked like it was going to a draw but Nottingham Forest won the game with an 89th minute goal from Wood. Sheffield United will find it tough in the Premier League after they've just been promoted.

And I'll prolly do the same bet for the Spurs vs United match.

This one is going to be an interesting match. A Kane-less Tottenham team with a new manager playing against a very determined and focused Manchester United team

Tottenham couldn't even finish in top 5 last season while they had Kane. You know that Kane scored 30 goals last season but the team performance was just still poor. If I'm not wrong they finished in 8th place. As long as this team don't improve their team effort nobody can carry them to top places.

Richarlison is the new choice in Kane's position. It doesn't look like Tottenham are in search of a replacement for Kane in the transfer market too.

I think Maddison is likely to play an important role for Tottenham this season. He can make the team more productive with his assists - which he made 2 against Brentford already.

Manu vs Wolves game was rather interesting. Cunha played like he did in his prime season in Herta Berlin, but he was unlucky with his finishing, otherwise he would have taken the game by himself. If he keeps playing like this, I won't miss Wolves games. Cunha is really an excellent footballer. He's athletic, he's very fast and he plays the team game very well. He's been an excellent signing for Wolves. I don't want to hit too much from the first game, but if this Manu finishes the season in the top 4, it will be a great success. There are main reasons why I say this. The team is far behind its rivals in terms of squad quality. I don't think there is a team that spends tons of money on transfers every year and still has so many deficiencies. Moreover, considering the rise of Newcastle, Brighton and Villa and the quality of their squad, Manu's job is very difficult. Also, I have to say this, what kind of a mindset is it to not give a penalty for that last minute position?

Richarlison is no Kane. Look at his conduct when he was substituted in the game today.

I have to agree Tottenham simply did not collapse under the pressure of playing without Kane, maybe it brought them together with survival instincts. Manchester United lost the game because they failed to score in the first half, they had many chances. It could be a long stressful season for Ten Hag and his Manchester United team.

As for Tottenham, congratulations to them because this could be the start of something special this season. Did you see the way Liverpool played today? They looked sharp and dangerous in the final third. It was good to see Salah finally playing like a fantastic striker, he has been excellent in both their games. Even with the sending-off, Liverpool looked like they will mount a serious challenge for the top four.

These are the results from the games played yesterday:

Aston Villa 4-0 Everton 
West Ham United 3-1 Chelsea

Aston Villa played flowing football and deserved the win. If Everton do not change their playing style they will be fighting a relegation battle all season long.

Full credit to West Ham for taking the game to Chelsea and they deserved the win. Moyes has been a good manager for West Ham but problems for Pochettino and Chelsea just keep on mounting. Of all players it was record £115 million buy Caicedo who committed the foul to give West Ham the penalty that made the score 3-1.

With 75 minutes played Chelsea are winning 3-0. Stirling scored the first two goals and Jackson scored the third. Pochettino has managed to get the team to go out and play with confidence even if it is against newly promoted Luton Town.

^  Yup.  These are usually good spots to make a bet for a club like Chelsea that lost the last match vs an inferior squad.  Even the -2.5 goals hit.  Lol.  Other lines like Chelsea clean sheet, Chelsea to win and BTTS no combo, and Chelsea win to nil were prolly close to even money.

Anyway, anybody watching Arsenal vs Fulham.  I got this on mute while watching the UFC.  The heart in this Fulham squad...    They'll prolly win more than their fair share of matches vs better clubs this season.  These guys don't give up.

Is it fair to say Fulham should have won the game? Arsenal took the lead after Fulham had a player down in need of medical attention. The referee should have stopped the game but having said that Fulham equalised. Palhinha dominated the game for Fulham therefore it was fitting he scored the equaliser.

^  Def could be considered a huge win against a better squad by Marco Silva and his boys.  The guy is a good manager and was earmarked to be the 'next Mourinho' by football journos when he came up with Watford.  But it wasn't to be when he went to Everton and just smashed the transfer budget and nothing to show for.  

Some managers are just better for smaller clubs.  :/

Anyway, how is Liverpool 3.05 vs Newcastle?  I don't think they've lost more than three matches in their last 10 games vs each other.  Draw no bet is around 2.25 or something.

Silva was gaining reputation fast. Sadly for him it went downhill when he managed a bigger club and though not successful recently, Everton are a big club with potential and huge fanbase. He will do well at Fulham, I hope he stays there and builds a team capable of staying in the Premier League.

Anyway, how is Liverpool 3.05 vs Newcastle?  I don't think they've lost more than three matches in their last 10 games bs each other.  Draw no bet is around 2.25 or something.

This will be a brilliant game to watch. If Newcastle United win they will show they are going to chase a top four spot all season. If Liverpool win, they will show they are after the Premier League crown. I think Newcastle will edge this or it will be a draw therefore the odds for Liverpool to win do not seem attractive

^  I think Liverpool has proven themselves to be title contenders early on out after the kind of win they've just had vs Newcastle.  Won from behind and with just 10 men after VVD got a red card in the first half.  Totally brilliant.  Man City is still the club to beat tho.  I've been looking them up online and it seems like the players they bought are mostly good ball carriers...  Look more closely at how they play in the transition and see if there's a difference from the years prior.

Anyway...  Some good match ups here after match day 2.

Arsenal will really be motivated to get all three points after getting a draw at home vs an inferior club in Fulham that played with 10 men at the second half.

Brentford should beat Bournemouth and Liverpool should beat Aston Villa. I think Brighton could end up defeating Newcastle United because they are playing excellent in possession even though they had a loss in their previous game.

With West Ham winning away at Luton Town yesterday, they proudly sit at the top of the Premier League table but Manchester City and Tottenham can push them to 2nd or 3rd if they win their games today.

Chelsea suffered a shock loss at home to Nottingham Forest. Manchester City look to like they have already won the Premier League. Arsenal won a game that Manchester United thought they had won. Liverpool are back playing with intensity. Tottenham are thriving without Kane. Welcome to another season in the Premier League

^  Newcastle should be looking to bounce back at home vs Brentford which almost lost at home vs Bournemouth.  Lol. Could be a decent spot for Eddie Howe's boys.

Same with Aston Villa, another bounce back spot at home vs Crystal Palace which allowed a couple of goals in vs a misfiring Wolves.

I'd say Chelsea would be another one but it's hard to trust putting any money in them.

A couple of really interesting match ups are Brighton vs United and West Ham vs City.  Will United bounce back vs Brighton who has so far been looking good?  Will the genius Moyes hand Pep's boys their first L?

Chelsea will have to come good at some point. There is far too much talent in that squad for them to not recover and let us not forget they are managed by Pochettino. His management skills will be enough to bring stability but he will need time.

Newcastle United have the chance to increase goal difference in their next game. West Ham United vs Manchester City, that will be the big game of the weekend.
