Arsenal came from from 0-2 down to win 3-2 deep in time added-on against Bournemouth. Manchester City have kept pace at the top of the table by winning but with Newcastle United and Tottenham losing they have allowed Liverpool, Fulham and Brighton to join the chase for 4th place. These five teams are effectively trying to finish the season in 4th place and qualify for the Champions League next season.

Well those derby games are supposed to be classic games which are on a different level with intensity and passion but what happened here was near total capitulation of Manchester United. They handed victory on a plate to Liverpool. At least the top four race gets even more fascinating now as Liverpool are finally getting serious about trying to end their season on a high.

Arsenal impressed me the most, they Brighton defeating Westham by 4nill. The premier league is getting it shape, let's expect unpredicted results,Today Manchester United will be facing their rival Liverpool. I wonder what Chelsea are going to do if they do not fire Potter they will probably finish below 10th if they continue in current form but if they fire him who do they replace him with? I think any one at this point might be a good temp replacement because they cannot continue to lose all these games. They have players that should be challenging for the top 4 but it looks like the players do not want to play for Potter and he has lost the dressing room.

I've said it times without number on here that the only way Chelsea can have any hope of having a good season is if the fire Potter. Chelsea will still be bad if they give Potter 10 more seasons, there is no point in giving him time. His team plays too poorly, they can't score goals, they cant create chances. If I were Chelsea, I will sack him before the end of the season so the new manager will have enough time with his team. They better not make the mistake of keeping him on till next season because it will equally be like this season. When you see a coach that needs time you will know by the way his team plays and the motivation of player. Its sad to say that you can't seen any of that from this Chelsea squad.

What is wrong with Liverpool? They could have moved in to the top and taken over a Champions League position at the expense of Tottenham but they missed a penalty courtesy of Salah and they lost the game 1-0 at Bournemouth in the early kick-off game.

How can they humiliate, trash and destroy Manchester United 7-0 one week then lose at Bournemouth the next week? They will never be the same team again because Sadio Mane was the one player that was higher than others when it came to their driving force.

With Manchester City winning a difficult game at Crystal Palace they have put all the pressure back on Arsenal and are now just 2 points behind them. Tottenham are just 1 point behind 3rd place Manchester United though they have played extra games.

With Manchester City winning a difficult game at Crystal Palace they have put all the pressure back on Arsenal and are now just 2 points behind them. Tottenham are just 1 point behind 3rd place Manchester United though they have played extra games.

@JollyGood it does seems that Potter has managed to turnaround things, but I wouldn’t be surprised if they started losing again too hence I would totally avoid wagering on them. Lastly Arsenal won their game and restored their lead, but I’m genuinely worried for Manchester United because if they don’t start winning now then they may just miss out on the top 4 spot.

 Nice one for Potter and Chelsea as well, I must say that the man G. Potter is getting the spark back on Chelsea but as we all know the fans, they're still waiting if he'll make any mistakes. Against Leicester Potter played some of the players that needs to showcase their abilities, talking about players like Mudryk who has always come from the bench, the guy was on fire, if he's given much time on the pitch Chelsea will be on fire because I see much force in him than Pulisic and the man from Aston Villa [Chukwuemeka] they all have so much to offer. I just wish Chelsea a happy recovery and they might hit the top 4 before the end of the season if care is not taken.

Quality of City's game has dropped a lot. On the other hand, the fact that the backs were composed of defender origin players created a big change in team play. City, from Cancelo, Zinchenko's full-backs, whose offensive power is more prominent, to defenders with decent feet. The depth of the team at the backs needs to be better. In addition, the resistance in the midfield should be increased. If KDB is not in good form, the team gets into trouble. City is not the old City anymore. They will probably be eliminated from the champions league again. Last year was City's best year and they were surprisingly eliminated. But this year it won't be a surprise, because they're bad.

At Chelsea finally have some momentum now and credit lay with Potter. If Chelsea finish outside the top 4 as expected but manage to go on a successful Champions League run, it would be a good season considering how badly they faltered after Tuchel was sacked.

I am happy for Potter, he deserves some good fortune after the miserable and painful run that Chelsea have endured. I hope he and Chelsea keep it going and they manage to get more points on the table. The way he was affected when he and his family received threats (by supposed-Chelsea fans) was sad to see, I hope he can keep a winning run going.

The games played yesterday boosted Brighton as they attempt to finish the season in the top four and also were problematic for Southampton as they are rooted to the bottom of the league table. If Brighton win their games in hand they will be equal 4th place alongside Tottenham. As for Southampton, they can climb out of the relegation zone with just one win.

Still everything to play for this season.

They even won by 3-1 against Leicester which must be some help for them to continue scoring goals like this. Because their biggest problem has been with scoring goals comfortably despite finding so many opportunities to score. It is still early to trust them of course but who knows maybe this result would help them get better.

Qualifying for the Champions League is not a realistic goal for Chelsea anymore. But they can at least finish the season at a better position. They are doing much better in the Champions League though but I don't know how far they can go.

Chelsea winning Might not go far but if they are well organized than before then there is hope on them in this season. In the match against Leicester with 3-1 they tried, we all pray that they should reclaim their champion in this league. We all know that Chelsea plays game but the issue was the striker and the attacking force. But looking at things now, their scoring skills are getting better so now that they can score goal well, they can win the tournament, but that can also be probably.

I am very happy for Potter especially after losing the first leg of their Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund but winning the second leg and qualifying for the quarter-finals. As for their win against Leicester City, they need to keep the momentum going as it will help them off to a good start at the beginning of next season.

Chelsea are 11 points off 4th place therefore the only realistic way they can participate in the Champions League next season is by winning the competition this season. That might not be as unrealistic a scenario as first expected.

Result from the game played yesterday: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Newcastle United

On current form I would expect Chelsea and Tottenham to win their games. If Tottenham win it will make an interesting race for a top four finish because they would leapfrog Manchester United in to 3rd place.

Aston Villa beat Bournemouth at home by three goals. Bournemouth needed more points but they didn't play well. Aston Villa scored an early goal early in the first half but couldn't increase the pressure after the goal. Bournemouth wanted to get back into the game but failed. Aston Villa started to get into more positions in the second half and scored 2 more goals towards the end of the match and completed the match 3-0. Thus, let's say that they increased their points to 38. Bournemouth remained on 24 points.

Chelsea had a high level of dominance in the first half against Everton in Stamford Bridge. But there was no goal anyway. Everton started to play more decently in the second half and we watched all the action in that one as well. I still think Chelsea deserved to be the winner of this match. They got ahead two times but there was a devastating goal by Simms in the last moments of the match.

Actually Everton weren't so different than the time before Sean Dyche. They weren't in good shape which was an opportunity for Chelsea to take. But they wasted it generously.

Both Tottenham and Chelsea dropped points, somewhat unexpectedly. Well done to Everton to get a point as they try to fight off a serious relegation threat. The same for Southampton, they got a vital point at home against a strong Tottenham team as they are rooted to the foot of the Premier League table.

Since the last post, the biggest news was Conte lost his job as Tottenham manager.

Here are the games being played this weekend and every day until Wednesday in a frantic rush of games with Manchester City needing to beat Liverpool to close the gap on Arsenal to 5 points and keep their chase for the Premier League title going.

@JollyGood his sacking was long expected, and I’m surprised that Tottenham stood by him for so long because in the last few months he was calling out to be sacked. Also Manchester City will probably win this game because now they can’t afford to drop anymore points but I wouldn’t be surprised if Liverpool ended up drawing this match too, as it’s evidently clear that they are not at all consistent this season hence I would avoid wagering on them.
