Absolutely not fair for the players as they couldn't speak out about the current circumstance. These players  wait 4 years to get an opportunity to make their little glimpse of heaven. However it's somewhat not fair for them but they represent Russia. Anyway, this choice is perfectly represented the dependency of FIFA and UEFA on UN? It would have been exceptional in the event that Ukraine and Russian players standing together in the circle showing they don't need war.

No one deprives athletes of any dreams, no one forbids them to continue doing what they like - playing football. But this is not a competition of clubs, but of national teams that represent specific countries. If these countries have become criminals, then it is absolutely wrong to allow them to interact with normal countries "as if everything is normal." If that's the case, I, as an observer, disagree as well. If you look at the Israeli military aggression they are not prohibited. If you look at this issue it looks like FIFA being a non-neutral institution they have double rules that make them a sports institution that can have a bad reputation with this decision.

In the last14 years Russia breached Olympic Truce thrice. Russia invaded Georgia during 2008 Summer Olympics, Beijing. End of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, and now it's the third time.

Totally agree with your opinion because why hate Russian Citizen and banned all Russian team on sport tournament, I think not any coherence between Sport competition and war invasion begin by Putin. Yes, indeed that is what happened. But unfortunately this is something to be done.
I hope that as soon as possible this scenario changes so that the population and players do not suffer from Putin's and his government's decisions.

There is a danger that this might be actually the beginning of the end of a FIFA that includes the whole world. In the future, with any military or political conflict there will be people asking: "But you did this with Russia. Why aren't you doing it now?" If the FIFA permanently adopts the Western viewpoint they might be seen as a political institution by other countries who then withdraw from it alltogether. I hope this won't be the case as it would hurt everybody: the sport, the athletes, the spectators, ...

It looks ridiculous, they look one-sided and maybe we can see all of them.  They are neutralized if they are an institution free from political elements. But their current decision is very different from what they say. Of course I as a football fan disappointed they are not neutral in this matter. Other news if FIFA's decision may reach UEFA therefore russian clubs that appear in the European league are officially disqualified. Unfortunate.

I think different sporting authorities are treating it differently, but FIFA will probably come out against Belarus soon enough. Other sporting authorities have, for example in Formula One racing, both Russian and Belarusian drivers have been banned from competing at the British GP. I'm sure other sports and countries will follow suit. It just takes time, no doubt they've spent ages arguing what to do about Russia, now they'll be having the same discussions about Belarus... not that Putin is going to be remotely bothered.

I think Russia should be disqualified from the 2022 world cup. They attacked Ukraine in front of the eyes of the world and there must be a response. Although the disquafily from the World Cup does not look nice, Russia should be reacted somehow. If this punishment happens, Russian football players will not be punished, the Russian football committee will be punished. I know how friendly Russian people are. One wrong decision does not change this fact.

Sports can be used to promote peace, and this is a big step, Canada has also ban the import of raw material from Russia. Mastercard banned the Russian transactions - Russia would not even think what more is coming in the day to come. We are definitely not in favor of war. We all want peace. Russia should stop fighting. But Putin is a stubborn man. He will not stop fighting until he reaches his goal. And as far as news of the war is concerned, I think Ukraine will surrender in a few days. Soon Russia will occupy Kyve. However, if the war continues, Russian athletes may not be able to participate in any sport outside the country. The EU and the USA are imposing heavy sanctions on the Russians.

Obviously, people can ban the Russian and the Belarusian players, but it would not have any effect on Russia and Belarus in my opinion. I mean they are at war and what do you think banning some players is going to do? Nothing. But obviously, I am not defending anyone here.
